Thank you Neal for your respect to our Beloved late Queen Elizabeth, we miss her so much. It was an honour to stand in the queue for 12 hours to file past her coffin, and say goodbye ❤
The line of people were those who waited to walk passed her cask as our dear Queen laid in State. People queued for up to 24 hours just to walk passed and take a moment to thank her and say goodbye. The queue lasted for days ( a week, I think). There were 10 days of mourning. I was glued to proceedings on the television and cried everyday. By the time of the State funeral I thought I had none left. But there were more. Just broke when she arrived back home at Windsor Castle and her pony Emma and her corgis were waiting for her. 🥹 We went to visit her resting place in St George’s Chapel last year. In tears yet again! Thank you for your kind and respectful words🥰
I'm glad she's gone to her well deserved rest, after watching her sir alone at her husband's funeral because of covid, my heart broke for her, a lot of people weren't keen on Prince Philip, but one thing is for sure, he always had her back and was her rock.
I know how you feel, I've never wanted to give someone a loving hug as much as I did that day. Poor woman couldn't even shed a tear, as it's not the done thing for royals to to much emotion.
FYI.. The Queens coffin weighed in at between 551lb and 700lb, about a quarter ton, and the gun carriage it's self weighed 2.8 tons. There was 90 Royal Navy sailors that pulled the State Gun Carriage and 40 marched behind to act as a brake.

Yes celebrities of today are a more dubious self centred lot than they ever have been but Beckham hasn't just been a celebrity from overnight and 1 thing he has always been and genuinely so is patriotic from his beginnings of ordinary working class environment, fervent belief in this country having a monarchy and having played for his country not least scoring a certain free kick that if it wouldn't have been for him that match all those years ago England wouldn't have qualified. As previously said he didn't have to, but he joined the long line of every ordinary member of the public and shared in that genuine emotion and grief. So before you slag him off on this, engage your brain first!!
Your comments were absolutely lovely. Thank you. You certainly don't see a funeral like that often. Really just once in a lifetime. The last Royal state funeral was Queen Elizabeth's father in 1952, although Sir Winston Churchill was given a state funeral in 1965. Looking forward to seeing more from you my friend.
She was a lovely queen. With a good sense of humour too. Neal you should watch her with james bond at the opening of the 2012 Olympics if you haven't watched it already!
You should watch the slow march to Westminster abbey the Navy pulled the coffin on an old gun carriage with bagpipes playing it was a great show of respect and loyalty.
As a proud Britain & a veteran of the British Army, in my eyes she will always be the boss. God rest you ma'am, your duty is done. God save the king. 🇬🇧
I'm left-wing politically, but I still value the monarchy. The ceremonies lasted nine hours, and I watched the whole thing. England became a unity in 927 AD, and Scotland in 843. You do realise we've still got the same family of both on the throne? Therefore the Monarch represents all our history. The Monarch is also the Head of all our Armed Forces. Just to note. The beautiful flag draped over her coffin is the very historic Royal Standard of the United Kingdom. On it were three of the Crown Jewels: the Imperial State Crown, containing important ancient jewels and the second largest cut diamond in the world; the Orb; and the Royal Sceptre, having for its head the largest cut diamond in the world. Elizabeth II was from the upper classes of the UK, and had many of their attitudes; but because she wasn't a politician, her interest in the people was honestly what she thought was best for us. Her position doesn't officially have power, but she was told everything, and over the years she acquired great experience of top-level circles.
The attention to detail was amazing. She was carried on board the aeroplane in Edinburgh by the Royal Regiment of Scotland, covered in the Royal Standard of Scotland, and carried off in London by the RAF, covered in the Royal Standard of the UK. Someone had made sure that it was aboard. It's also worth seeing her travel from Balmoral to Edinburgh, from the Palace of Holyroodhouse there to St Giles Cathedral, to lie there under the Crown of Scotland, and there ceremony and vigil there. The Princess Royal promised her mother that she would be by her side and she was, every step of the way.
What a lovely tribute and kind words Sir! So many little things made up this huge tapestry of love, honour and respect. Princess Anne's deep curtsy as he saw her mother back to Holyrood The police outriders sat on bikes with bowed heads as the Queen came home to Buckingham Palace Veterans giving one last salute to The Boss as she laid in state David Beckham standing with people for 12 hours to bow his head The Starboard (rear) gun carriage crew stepping in line after the Queen was laid on their gun carriage The solid body of thousands of people lining the Mile at windsor The horse and corgis at Windsor. The lone piper at Windsor.
