She wasn't just a Queen, people forget that she was a wife, mother, a grandmother and great grandmother. She was an aunt, a friend, a human. She went to the site of Grenfell tower after the fire to speak to survivors while our then prime minister locked herself in Numer 10 because of the backlash she was getting from it.

Watch the coverage of her journey from Balmoral to London the whole nation was silent . Princess Anne must have been devastated yet never lost composure once while escorting her mum home. King Charles also, while burying his mum, did so well under the worlds eyes. Im so proud of them all for how they achieved getting through that day and all the rest leading upto the funeral itself. Including the little ones x

Queen Elizabeth II is buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The Queen was laid to rest alongside her parents and sister after the private family funeral. The late monarch's remains were placed in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, part of the larger St George's Chapel, to rest alongside her husband Prince Phillip. A funeral service was held at Westminster Abbey, followed by a procession to Wellington Arch which featured around 3,000 military personnel and was watched by approximately one million people in central London. The state hearse then transported the Queen's coffin to Windsor, followed by another procession through Windsor Great Park and a committal service at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The Queen was interred later that evening with her husband, Prince Philip, in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, in a private service attended only by her closest family..Thank you.

  • @zee2012

The Queens coffin weighed in at between 551lb and 700lb, about a quarter ton, and the gun carriage it's self weighed 2.8 tons. There was 90 Royal Navy sailors that pulled the State Gun Carriage and 40 marched behind to act as a brake.

As a Ducth person i would like to thank you too for this respectful reaction to the funeral. I grew up in the Netherlands knowing that Queen Elisabeth II would not be send off or abdicate but she would die on the job ( as they said in the Nehterlands) Well they were right... The Queen stayed on as long as she could even after several hearbreaks , the death of Prince Philip, other family troubles that hurt her hard. She was a strong lady and knew want she wanted and how it should happen.

At the end of the ceremony at St Georges Chapel in Windsor Castle the late Queen’s personal piper who played for every morning played the bagpipes as he slowly walked away the music getting fainter and fainter, it was truly heartbreaking.

I would very much like to THANK all three of you for your true, heartfelt, love and respect for our most BELOVED QUEEN ELIZABETH. It was lovely to see and hear your very kind words of admiration. I wept tears as i watched that funeral again, i miss her so much. She will always be missed, she is such a loss especially those of us that had her for our entire lives, she was everything to us, more loved than any other monarch in our thousand plus history. A FIRST!!! Congratulations to the gent on left for spotting and commenting on something that no one else has in all the many many videos that I’ve watched on the Queen’s funeral! I often wondered how people could see the white ropes and not question them. The Royal Navy sailors in front of coffin are pulling the gun carriage and because of the weight the Sailors behind are acting as brakes! All by hand. An amazing sight. By the way this procession was only the Queen being taken from Westminster HALL where she lay in state to Westminster ABBEY where her funeral service was held. From there to Wellington Arch via Whitehall, Horseguards and the Mall; THIS was the main funeral procession. She was taken to Windsor by car where there was another procession down the ‘Long Mile’ and a Family and Friends service . It is there in St. George’s Chapel that she is resting. Thank you for your respect.

The recent funeral of the Maori King in New Zealand is worth watching. They transported him in a waka on the Waikato River [there were six wakas] and then carried him up the mountain to the place where the kings and queens are buried. It was a 5 day funeral - Tangi. The final ceremony and transport was amazing.

A woman whose reign spanned a world war, 14 US presidencies (meeting 13 of them), introduced the Commonwealth of nations helping to foster trade and prosperity and whose measured and wise words often brought calm or clarity when addressing the nation. If all nations could have this sort as actual leadership, we'd have no need for the politicians.
Thanks for this. You were very respectful and it's nice to know she was so widely well regarded.

The royal family isn't about power, it's about continuity. Queen Elizabeth saw huge changes from empire to nation status. Through it all she demonstrated an understanding that a quiet air of stability was far more important than strength or power, that's what government is for...

Camilla is not Queen she wasn't born to it. Charles is King, Camilla is consort (a wife, husband, or companion, in particular the spouse of a reigning monarch).

Anyone who saw the crown would know she chose the crown over the happiness of our family at every turn. Limiting Prince philip, interfering disastrously in Margaret's, Charles and even Harry's love lives.
Seems a bit selfish to me.
That said I won't wish being a member of the british royal family on my worst enemy. Sounds like a burden more than anything else. So outdated and pointless now.

'Pomp and circumstance 'is very powerful. The pipes are wonderful. Yet the British royal family owns a lot and is ridiculously rich. It sits on the British body politic like an incubus. GB might be a properly functioning democracy if we demoted these people. They are a feudal afterthought.....

Have some grace my friend. I am no Monarchist but damn that woman took the words of obligation and duty to a whole different level. I wouldn't have had her life for 10 times her treasure, she had no life of her own as an adult. What monetary figure would you put on your own, freedom to dine with who you want, spend time with who you want and holiday where you want? Think on that my friend, she didn't ask for your admiration, she bloody well earned it!

Tho they are very rich now it was always not so and I think that because of the fact that they were once thanks to the excesses of some of their forbears had a problem with the lack of money they have generationally made sure never to be placed in that position again. Their personal lives are not in anyway a burden on the tax payers. Only the work they do for the charity’s they support and any official duties they must do.You would be taken to task if you criticised any other very rich person no one goes on about the wealth of the 1% yet they and their Iike cause many ordinary people a lot of hardship job loss and the like so that they can maintain their excessive life styles. They do not feel any sort of duty to others double standard here.
