@@DhdhdhNdhd Hater will hate and some people like to joke (to be honest I even made a joke against Caleb) but I was referring more to when people analyze Caleb in a more serious way the always receives praises for his ability
I love Plant because he’s anytime, anywhere, and dares to be great. Just because a fighter loses, that’s doesn’t mean they can’t make it back to the top.
@@AKELLONASHNYC well, I mean; Tank's more unproven than "non-dominant". I guess what I meant Is that it is very rare in this era of boxing to see love towards a fighter who has lost two times in devastating fashion, not being a reigning world champion or a high profile prospect (like Ennis). But Plant has shown so much heart, skills and has stped up to competition enough that people love him because he embodies the saying " all smoke, no mirrors"
Caleb did not struggle against benavidez. He put on a damn clinic in the first half and then gassed. But still showed his true warrior and fought till the final bell putting up a fight.
I do the same!! You probably already know, but just in case you don’t, Caleb Plant was a kickboxer early on. Some of his fights are on YT and he was really smooth. Probably very similar to your style since he said he would only throw 6 kicks in the beginning of a round - because of rules - and start just 100% boxing. His style definitely translates to other combat sports
@@rian534 lol yup in fact before I heard of his kboxing days I used to watch his highlights before my ikfs and smokers. And of course I would throw 100 boxing combos and 1 measly leg kick just to say that I threw it.
Using peripheral vision is genius as our eyes are designed to notice movement better with our peripheral vision than compared to direct vision. It's thought that evolution gave us this to help us in hunting and surviving. I can't wait to try this next sparring session.
Great breakdown like always 💯🔥🫡 plant is a good technical fighter in terms of flaws I’d definitely say his gas tank after the first half of the fight he slows down holds his feet more then get caught and because he has bladed stance and uses Philly shell along the ropes he nearly always dips and ducks to the same side but even in both his losses he was winning the first half and he fought calelo at his peak on his great 168 run through the division
@@billystone8204 Exactly and a point I'm glad they brought up. He's only lost to the absolute best and he wasn't blown out of the water by either. Great fighter 👊
the way he turns his enemies reminds me of the later part of pacman's split entry, exit to the weak side of the opponent while being to launch a new combo, smooth, crisp and deadly indeed
Plant is underrated, and it’s become more obvious as he gets bigger fights. I’ve started to become a fan because he keeps improving. He didn’t get a win against Benevidez, but Plant was impressive. He is much better now than when he fought Canelo. I’m looking forward to seeing him fight more. He fought the two top guys and made good exciting fights.
I remember training with some people that told me I was throwing an "incorrect punch" when I used the Shovel Hook, saying that a hook had to come completely horizontally.
That bladed stance while looking out the peripherals.. makes Caleb very vulnerable. It looks cool though. Reminds me of Sweet P. Wait.. Sweet P. Sweet Hands. I get it.
love caleb, lack a bit of stamina and more volume concerning his punches and he'd be perfect. His Highlights are a real things of beauty, and i hope he'll be back at the top soon
I like him a lot too, but he can't punch. I'm surprised that they didn't mention it as a flaw, since it's his biggest one by far. You need a bit of power to be at the top. Even Mayweather, late in his career, when he couldn't really hurt anybody, knew how to put put some heat every now and then to keep his opponent honest
@@davidfernandez8515 yes a bit more power would also be a good extra. But he faced and lost to very durable fighters such as canelo and David, that's it looks he looks like he has no power, but he can still stings a bit tho
His lack of stamina comes from being unable to pace himself, and this problem is also rooted in his power. He needs to throw a lot more than usual boxers to keep people off of him. If he paces himself like a Canelo or Crawford he’d get rushed and pressured. Crazy how he’s able to be elite with such a handicap. Pound for pound he probably punches softer than Shakur or Haney. I respect him all the more for it honestly
Great breakdown, wish Plant was more active he'll be a much bigger name & improve on stuff. I think another flaw is his lack of control/frame game at mid range and clinch work. If he works on those glaring flaws then he would improve drastically.
Great fighter but i believe his style consumes a lot of energy. He needs to do less and be more subtle with his movements to conserve energy. Also, he has pop in his punches, but i believe is too stiff when he throws power punches and doesnt have that whipping thump when he lands. He also needs to know how to hold position to catch and counter at times, he relies solely on escaping his opponents attacks. I think he is very entertaining to watch and would love to see him be more active.
I think you’re spot on with his lack of power. Every time I watch his bagwork it feels like he’s stiff and not following through on his shots. Not a lot of snap. It’s definitely a technique thing
@@soratics7328 I’m not ever talking about the Tank fight as a fighter as whole there is nothing special he just has a big ass head and thick ass neck snd he short and compact which makes him hard to be knocked out
@@Ducehere2389 He wasn’t getting caught too clean by Tank which is my point he was blocking his uppercuts very good as well and tank has amazing timing speed and power.
He's pretty good because of his hand speed and clever techniques. If he had serious power to go along with the speed and good technique, he'd be great.
The best American born Caucasian fighter since who??? One of my 5 favorite CURRENT fighters regardless of weight class FOR SURE!!! Been following Plant since the Caleb vs Caleb fight
Credit the skills to his long time coach Justin Gamber, who he fired recently. He beat all the guys he was supposed to beat . Failed when properly challenged.
Plant grew fans with the canelo fight but needs more fight dates to become a star. Not a technical thing but his cardio is also an issue looked great vs Benavides for the first 5 rounds than gassed out
Plant is one of the main reasons I doubt Crawford will be much of a problem for Canelo, he’s probably as quick as Crawford would be at 168, just as slick if not slicker, most likely hits just as hard and has a better chin. Crawford’s timing may be a little better though
he cross walks , when he should take a couple half steps back and turn the move that direction also bending at the waist only works against normal left hooks and overhands right, I fight out the philly Shelly I make guys miss badly
This style is only best if you have power if not you will eventually get walked down…. Like Canelo did. I don’t feel like Caleb really did well with Canelo on purpose. He was talking and joking in the ring. It’s like he really didn’t want the win and was happy for the opportunity and check!!
I love this white guys style but the only reason the flaws you recognize come to light is because of his dynamic flaw. He tires out. If his conditioning stamina and endurance remains superb none of them fighters can touch him. Power isn’t the end all in boxing but be that as it may if Plant can stay in good form mode in latter rounds he could go undefeated the remainder of his career
