Amouage is a fragrance house without equal. Simply always at the forefront of all things that are good. My very favorite house by a long shot. They truly deserve the respect they get.

Cecile did amouage epic woman when she was just an intern so this is her 3rd amouage. I would be open trying silver oud but not for 305 bucks for 50 ml. I will wait and see if it hits discounters over the next few years. Cheers

This sounds so good. Not as an every day scent but one you treasure. Amouage has really been knocking it out of the park.

Cecile Zarokian also created Amouage Epic for Woman. In an interview she says she was honored that Amouage came to her again to create two more fragrances, this and Material, because of the success of Epic Woman (one of her first creations)
The prices here in Oman are lower I bought mine by 247$. I asked about the size and they said they might launch 100 ml later and the estimated price is 364$. I find some similarities between this and Carved Oud from Thameen but with Amouage touches.

I received Silver Oud a few days ago. I agree with your description of it. I happen to enjoy it. I love dark and smoky fragrances, especially around this time of the year (Fall/Winter). It wears well on my skin. Thanks for you review.
My first purchase of any type of oud is from Armaf. I really like it. So here is My question: Is Oud a smell that can be worn as a signature sent for weeks at a time? Even from different houses, can I wear Oud every day? I went a very inexpensive way to wear this Oud fragrance and I really like it. I sprayed three shots directly on skin.
Good job, Sebastian ! I love Amouage, I do have the first 10 Opus from the Library Collection. I have to try both this one and Opus XI, as I might enjoy as well. If Silver Oud is a sort of like Monsieur from Frederic Malle, than I will need it at my collection.

Great review. I recently succumbed to my fragrant desires and purchased Shem, by Nishane, and Silver Oud by the dream team of Amouage and Cecile! Shem arrived last night and expect Silver Oud to arrive early next week. I am a huge fan of the classic Amouage lines (warming to the new) and am hoping that Silver Oud reminds me of the classics (dark, smoky & incense). I was also intrigued by the marketing for Silver Oud: Confusion , Passion, Destruction. I know that you like the bottle presentation but did the theme also resonate with you? Thanks as always
You shouldn't be disappointed. It harkens back to the Amouage of old IMHO. It reminds me of an ancient black cloak that's been unearthed from a forest that's been burned down to the ground. Dry down it does sweeten to my nose to something akin to Interlude. It's the black panther / black beast of the collection. Projection is quite strong at the front of this and lasts on clothes for well over a day.
I just got this, opening is challenging but the dry down is really nice as the notes settle. Perfect for winter and literally 1 or 2 sprays is all you need

@The Perfume Guy was at the barbers earlier today and I got compliments from all the customer and my barber. I think the animalic element is what's challenging but as dries and settles the vanilla and leather really shine. With the added smokiness you feel invincible, like a superhero with a Cape on haha

Hi Sebastian i tried yesterday it is available in Oman Amouage shop but I feel it have vibe of interlude .
I'm wearing black ambergris from anonim, so I'm sure this is right up my ally, just wish it was an Extrait. How the longevity?

Looking forward to get a bottle but the 50ml bottle is kind of a turn off. Will surely buy it anyways. By the way nice haircut.
Someone on fragrantica said it smells like an Electronic repair shop.. It does actually smells like that old dusty metal casings, smell of solder burning etc..etc..
I do know Amouage I and III and they smell georgeous!

I'm a huge fan of Amouage. I just brought a pre Reflection Man to work and sprayed a number of people.
I'll certainly will be getting a decant.

I read that she had full freedom to create this, including no budget. I am guessing the 50ml is definitely due to the prices of the ingredients, aa you touched on. I only want 100ml bottles as well but may have to make an exception.

Would be interesting to see a ranking of the darkest of the darkest of mysterious fragrances. Among designers probably Bentley for Men Absolute ought to be on the list.

I don't really like animalic musky perfumes but I love woody ouds. I'm not sure this will work for me also it's priced very high.

Castoreum definitely competing with the Assamese oud. Enjoy it with the patchouli though patchouli should be more pronounced in my opinion

Sounds mysterious and well put together but also way too early to drop 300 on for a 50ml.
Great house, I love everything they do but this sounds too dark for me. I'll still smell but the notes sound too intense.
Could this be compared to some of the Beaufort' s creations ? I hope Amouage did that really strong, interesting, different.... cause the last 4 - 5 perfumes/ before this one/ didn't attract my attention 😒 the last ones are like " mass market"

Don't spay then immediately go out because the first notes that hit you is like a toilet everybody's been to but never flushed but gets better when it dries off

Bro, you only need a couple of their fragrances and you are set for life. They are truly the best with the highest concentration.

Man this sounds really good, really good. So is it actually part of the opus collection officially or just in that bottle style? I forget the other Amouage scent Cecile did 🤔 epic I think was the one.

And for $305 for 50ml I'd expect a whole lot more naturals. The bottle has to cost more than the materials.

With Amouage you can always be certain that they last 6+ hours at minimum, especially the library collection.
Just like interlude vintage bottle ( on my skin) all day long, I don’t know how the new interlude batch smells like, that’s way I bought 2 bottles of silver oud so POWERFUL 👍😎😎
