- Former Labour councillor Jo Bird is standing to be an MP for the Green Party after Keir Starmer's regime pushed her out over supporting Palestine. Jo and her mum Rica were accused of anti-Semitism for criticising Israel, despite being Jewish women themselves. Declassified's John McEvoy went to Birkenhead to uncover one of the most inconvenient stories of this general election - the ex-Labour Jewish members now supporting the Greens, outraged at Starmer's treatment of Palestine activists.

I voted Green in my constituency which was a Labour stronghold but turned Conservative as it voted 75% leave Brexit. All I've seen around in my constituency is Green posters and flyers also
Not as many as I would like.
Whatever the number is, it's not enough.
I don't have the luxury of a non-tactical vote. Because this is for the English parliament, whatever my problems with the party are at the moment, my SNP vote's still necessary. Otherwise, I'd be Green all the way.

Greens are becoming the Party of the people. It wants to tax the super rich an extra 1% to raise $90b a year, so it can fully fund the NHS and take Water and Rail back into public ownership. Dear Jo, I recently saw your interaction with Lisa Nandy on that panel and thought you brilliantly demonstrated how abusive the current senior Labour party have been towards its own critics. You were so persistent and calm, I thought it really caught Lisa off guard by avoiding her callous smears by homing in on the matter of fact.
I applaud you for standing up to Lisa so formidably as a Green party member. This is the only party I can vote for in this election and I wish you every success this Thursday. Vote Green.

I am not Jewish but find it abominable that people are labelled anti semitic for being against the appalling violence against Palestine's innocents and for the Netanyahu's government's unbridled horror that it is inflicting as well as the shocking violence and destruction in the West Bank against Palestinians. This whole dreadful situation HAS to be seen and understood since the earliest ideas of a Jewish homeland in what was then PALESTINE. The first approach to the British government by senior Jewish people in Britain appealing for a homeland here, presumably after winning the war against the Turks.? Isn't it time for the British government to apologise for its role in this disaster? Why are tens of thousands of Palestinians still in refugee camps?
