good point about the swing open side windows, I don't think most people think that option through, sounds good in theory but pickups are way tall.......
Oddly, we just posted a follow up and while we still agree with our initial thoughts, we do end up with things that we could grab near the top of the bed. So looking back, I probably would get the exterior access. Watch the update if you have the time.
I have a 2021 150 with the 6.5’ bed. This definitely helped me make up my mind I love the looks of this cap on your rig. I will be ordering the same sept with sportsman windoors and extra lighting. Thanks!!
That’s awesome! I’m glad we could help with your decision. You should checkout our video of the Sportsmen’s Expo th-cam.com/video/bmoTN-3oMnk/w-d-xo.html Kingpin Lights was a vendor there that had some pretty cool lighting for truck toppers.
Wow, it looks great. I have a platinum as well in black and I really want one like this. I’ve never had a topper always a tonneau cover and I do have a bak flip now. Great video!
Love the bakflips, we just wanted some extra space, so we did the cap. We loved the antimatter blue, but when we upgraded to the f250, we went with black.
@ I think the pros outweigh the cons of a topper. I don’t use the length of my bed anyways because it’s so short and we pull a camper and to have a topper when we camp to have the height of the cab to have all our camping stuff back there would just be great. It seems every time we go we have another yeti or more chairs and grills and dog kennels it would be awesome to not have to load that stuff in the camper and just throw it in the truck!
We had such a great experience with them and would definitely go back, in fact we did when we got weather tech mats for the truck and for the bed! Thanks for watching.
Back when I had shoulder bursitus, I figured out a really slick way to easily and painlessly retrieve freight from the front end of the bed to the tailgate. I used an ordinary, long-handled garden how both to push forward and ot hook over and pull backward for an easy lift.
Great cap and video on it! Plan to order one before the end of the year. I'll skip the lighting, headliner and sliding section of the fold down front window (I don't think I'd ever use it) to save a little more.
@@CajunMile Your video was great and really covered it all but would love to see a little more detail on the rear window locks and some more exterior pics from all angles. Can't wait to see the new video...hurry up already! lol
@@tjyoung4211 that is great! We love ours and are absolutely enjoying our traveling in the Airstream. We just got a ton of upgrades at Airstream Nuts and Bolts, that video will post a week from today.
great video. I'm looking to purchase a topper soon myself. i was wondering though. can you slide open the side windows from the outside or is it just from the inside?
These windows only open from the inside. Stay tuned, we have an update on the cap coming soon and we talk about the one thing we would change and we go over the Yakima roof rack we put on.
So, I really like the topper and generally it keeps dust and water out, but the bed of the F150 isn’t water tight. So while it won’t get soaked in a rain storm or dusty on a dirt road, it will still have some dust and moisture. Thanks for the comment.
I don’t have a rear view camera, but I will say that the bed camera does not work. Since we have a travel trailer, that camera isn’t as important to us as it would be for someone with a 5th wheel (but they can’t have a topper anyway). The back window on the ford is side to side and the window in the topper is side to side as well, but, if you option it the entire window can fold out of the way.
The cost varies depending on your truck and the accessories you choose, as well as any specials being offered by the ARE dealer. Here’s a link to review the different options and build your own www.4are.com/product/overland/
I have a Z2 on my 24 F350. Total $5k POS. Supposed to be the top of the line. That fit and finish is crap. Big divets in the paint, cracks, the fiberglass is $hit, all wavy, pock marked, places where it wasn't painted at all, freking window screen wasn't attached in places, they over torqued the window frame and bent the moulding. I can't say enough about the lack of quality with the ARE Z2 topper.
I’m sorry that your experience has been like that. We were told that the warranty on the fiberglass is quite good, have you checked back with your dealer on that? We did have a very small problem with our new topper, but the dealer made it right with us, and even offered to go way above and beyond for us.
topper people are weird they want a truck just so they can look cool but get a topper (no different then a van) and never haul anything the most they are gonna put in the bed is groceries their better off with a van like the chevy express or ford E150 im convinced topper people are just insecure people who wants a truck to look cool but don't actually need one and dont wanna be seen in a van (insecurity) when in actuality they need it more then they think.
The truck and color match Canopy with the black trim- 100% the bomb. Nice Job.
That is one of the things that set this cap apart from others. Thanks for watching.

Great idea! Might have to try this out since we are pretty loaded right now!
Thanks.

@@CajunMile Helpful - thank you!
has that Bedliner material on the cap started to fade at all?
Nope, A year in and a half in and haven’t had any fading! Thanks for watching and asking questions, we appreciate how interested people have been.
Does the mirror cam work and bed cam work
Back window slide down as well like the pickups not side to side .
2023 tundra platinum I have

What size is your truck bed?
I have the 66” bed. I think there is an option to go up to 78” on the supercrew.
Nice!
Thanks

What about the price? Thank you
