Hi there! There are many other ways you can begin volunteering now during the current shelter/rescue crisis. While we all want to spend time with the animals, other areas that get neglected are fundraising, community outreach, rescue outreach, events, social media, photography, etc. All of these areas directly impact the animals and the organizations, providing the animals with a better chance of making it out.
You are a wonderful, understanding person - you realize that the animals in the shelters will want to be clean, and will have less stress if they and their spaces are clean ❤❤

I used to give them the benefit of the doubt, especially when they're offering help, but there's no way he genuinely thought you needed it. Just another trick to try to get a bit of attention. I always wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter, but I’m always afraid that seeing these dogs not living the best life is going to break my heart, and then in the same time there isn’t much I can do to better their life, so I’ve been putting this off. But after watching your video it give me courage to Start exploring this again, after I quit my technical program manager job in one week, I will try out this dog shelter, volunteer journey. Thank you for showing what shelter life looks like. I’m in Vancouver,Canada and have somehow gotten on the Texas dog high kill daily euth list side of Tik tok and it’s heartbreaking. So many deserving dogs and cats lose their lives every day due to overcrowding. It’s unfair but we all do what we can to help them ❤️ and thank you for volunteering and bringing awareness 🙏🏼 I wish more TH-camrs did things like this… also I hope for an update soon that Bobby has gone to his forever home. Bless him such a sweet senior boy
UPDATE I recently completed orientation at my local shelter and am starting to volunteer this weekend - It will be a recurring thing where I go in every Saturday and I am looking forward to giving back.

I adopted Scooter from the shelter last March after tragically losing our Basset hound December 2022 Scooter is a blind senior basset hound he’s 12 and I love him so very much 🥹❤ 2 weeks after adopting Scooter came Koopa my husbands coworker also had a Basset hound he was surrendering he’ll be 7 next month but we took him in and now we have 2 bassets. Last Sunday we went to the farmers market and Marleys Mutts was there and I fell in love with a white Pomeranian mix that looks so much like Navi and we adopted him. From what his previous foster said he was found as a stray extremely matted and covered in bite wounds. 😢 we named him Stanley and now have 3 dogs we’ve adopted. 🥰

Your weekly volunteering has shown me and I’m sure all your followers how giving of yourself from the heart. Hey Weylie, I am so grateful to have watched this and the previous volunteer vlog since I’ve been wanting to do something to give back. Although I am in no position to spend any money just yet, I am so eager to help save the lives of these innocent animals. Another reason why there may be so many dogs in shelters is because of the breeding issue many owners are taking advantage of. They say to not take care of pets in your 20s since it will be very demanding, but after watching this heartbreaking reality of how they treat dogs at shelters, I hope people are more aware of the cruelty these innocent animals endure because of selfish humans. If only vet prices weren’t so high, I would love a dog of my own.. the fact that people worry about commitment when getting a pet is the opposite of the best quality in dogs-loyalty. We do not deserve the kind of love they give us yet because of the world’s circumstances, we have to think twice about getting one to save their lives? This vlog really helped me open my mind and my new life goal is to help dogs get adopted the right way.

Mentally, emotionally and physically and you live a happy and safe life with Wah and your furry babies ❤ Unfortunately, In the last six months, over 35,000 humans have been killed because of the continuous shelling and ethnic cleansing in Gaza even though they are the indigenous people of the land This is why our university students are protesting. Can you please use your platform to show Palestinians some support ❤️🇵🇸
Another reason is that esp in California, the expenses of having a dog is pretty high, just grooming alone is now $80 plus tax, I had a poodle mix that needed to groom very often, so I ended up grooming him myself, and I got the wireless clipper on Amazon, they were wonderful to use. Unfortunately my dog died in March the vet bill alone was $5000 with 24 hours...I want to have another dog, but I'm kinda hesitate about the long term commitment and the cost that will go into, though I'm willing to foster the dog ( I had my dog for almost 15 years, so go figure). So people if you feel lonely and want to have a pet but can't committee to a long term, try foster a pet from a shelter or animal rescue group...
As someone who manages a grooming facility the cost of grooming has gone up but that’s because the groomers have to make a living too. But also people forget grooming is not an “easy job”. Dogs bite, scratch, poop, express their anal glands, etc. for a large doodle breed we charge anywhere from 120-250 🤷🏻♀️
@@Angelaaa1015 Yeah that's true, I learned how to groom my dog of poodle mix, so I use wireless clippers to groom my dog since 2020 before he died this year. THe most expensive bill would be the vet bill I think and boarding...

When I retire in a little over a year, I plan to volunteer. Probably can’t kneel to clean. BUt to cuddle walk and love them. I am all for that.

As someone who manages a grooming facility the cost of grooming has gone up but that’s because the groomers have to make a living too. But also people forget grooming is not an “easy job”. Dogs bite, scratch, poop, express their anal glands, etc. for a large doodle breed we charge anywhere from 120-250 🤷🏻♀️
@@Angelaaa1015 Yeah that's true, I learned how to groom my dog of poodle mix, so I use wireless clippers to groom my dog since 2020 before he died this year. THe most expensive bill would be the vet bill I think and boarding...
