Hi there! There are many other ways you can begin volunteering now during the current shelter/rescue crisis. While we all want to spend time with the animals, other areas that get neglected are fundraising, community outreach, rescue outreach, events, social media, photography, etc. All of these areas directly impact the animals and the organizations, providing the animals with a better chance of making it out.
Great ideas. I will definitely see what I can do to contribute.

Thank you for showing what shelter life looks like. I’m in Vancouver,Canada and have somehow gotten on the Texas dog high kill daily euth list side of Tik tok and it’s heartbreaking. So many deserving dogs and cats lose their lives every day due to overcrowding. It’s unfair but we all do what we can to help them ❤️ and thank you for volunteering and bringing awareness 🙏🏼 I wish more TH-camrs did things like this… also I hope for an update soon that Bobby has gone to his forever home. When I first started fostering, I was so shocked when foster animals would have anxiety pills and depressions pills. It makes me so sad and I hope every animal finds a home❤

I adopted Scooter from the shelter last March after tragically losing our Basset hound December 2022 Scooter is a blind senior basset hound he’s 12 and I love him so very much 🥹❤ 2 weeks after adopting Scooter came Koopa my husbands coworker also had a Basset hound he was surrendering he’ll be 7 next month but we took him in and now we have 2 bassets. Last Sunday we went to the farmers market and Marleys Mutts was there and I fell in love with a white Pomeranian mix that looks so much like Navi and we adopted him. From what his previous foster said he was found as a stray extremely matted and covered in bite wounds. 😢 we named him Stanley and now have 3 dogs we’ve adopted. 🥰

I always wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter, but I’m always afraid that seeing these dogs not living the best life is going to break my heart, and then in the same time there isn’t much I can do to better their life, so I’ve been putting this off. But after watching your video it give me courage to Start exploring this again, after I quit my technical program manager job in one week, I will try out this dog shelter, volunteer journey. Weylie, when you matched the slow mo shots of you decorating your new table with the beat, I died 🤣🤣
Another reason is that esp in California, the expenses of having a dog is pretty high, just grooming alone is now $80 plus tax, I had a poodle mix that needed to groom very often, so I ended up grooming him myself, and I got the wireless clipper on Amazon, they were wonderful to use. Unfortunately my dog died in March the vet bill alone was $5000 with 24 hours...I want to have another dog, but I'm kinda hesitate about the long term commitment and the cost that will go into, though I'm willing to foster the dog ( I had my dog for almost 15 years, so go figure). So people if you feel lonely and want to have a pet but can't committee to a long term, try foster a pet from a shelter or animal rescue group...

I love the doggie daycare I go to. He will foster dogs at his daycare center until they get adopted. It’s 24 hours so someone is always with them.

Our landlord raised our monthly pet fee an additional $500.00 per month. I an struggling to take care of the rent, bills and my old guy who needs lots of meds. I am barely getting by, but I kind of understand why people are relinquishing their fur babies. It is probably a hard choice. You are amazing!
