Angelina is truly a prodigy and will be a huge star (if not already). She won Norway's Got Talent at age 7, she's now 13 and recently appeared on AGT show of champions...her singing style is mostly jazzy genre. I like listening to upcoming young stars...there's another one that you should react to...Angelica Hale, who appeared on AGT twice (@ 9 and 11) and won golden buzzer both times. She recently did a cover of Demi Lovato's "Stone Cold" @ 12 years old...would love to hear your reaction to that as well. BT, her TH-cam channel has over 2 MILLION subscribers with over 200 videos. Every time I hear Angelina sing, I picture her stepping out of an old black & white movie, to transport us back in time, so we can fall in love with these genuine masterpieces again ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Great reaction!!! A little backstory, for some of your subscribers who may not know......Angelina's Grandmother loved Blues & Jazz music, & they used to listen to it all the time, & Angelina felt an immediate connection, so her younger style tipped the scale closer to Jazz, and as she ages, she has developed many other styles of music, including her own, & now can sing almost anything!!! She also sews most of her outfits, does all her own musical arrangements, & goes barefoot, because she met a young girl when performing one day, who had no shoes & could not afford to buy any, so Angelina gave her the shoes she had on, & in memory of the girl, & poverty issues, she continues to goes barefoot! What can I say, except this young girl, is an inspiration, an amazing talent, has a huge compassionate heart, & the world is a much nicer place to be, with her in it !!!

Quincy Jones said Angelina was the best young singer since he first heard Michael Jackson, and invited her to sing at his 85th birthday (huge) celebration at the O2 Arena in London 2018 (she was 12 then). PS; don't think for a minute that by listening to a couple songs you have come close to hearing her "style", that you know how she sings; you won't fully understanding those thing until you have 30-40 of her songs under your belt.. When she was 6 years old on holiday she and her family met a poor girl about the same age as Angelina working as a street vendor, she had scars on her feet so Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and promised to never perform with shoes again until all children in the world can afford to have shoes. Mike - Shout out to you from a fellow St. Louisan! Thank you for your outstanding reaction to this Angelina Jordan performance. It is obvious that you are a professional who understands the technical and artistic aspects of vocal music. After 40+ years as a music educator and jazz musician, I would say to all young singers out there: Don’t try to sing like Angelina until you know how to do it, especially when she belts out in the high register. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came with her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You young singers can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on TH-cam someday! Mike, you have about 135 of Angelina's TH-cam videos to choose from for your reactions. I guarantee that the more reactions you do to her, your subscriptions and likes will go through the roof! You are exactly right about her ability to read the emotional heart of a song even when she might not have had the experiences associated with those emotions. You could go all the way to her recent remake of Bohemian Rhapsody at 13, or many songs in between. You might like her covers of Sam Smith's I Know I'm Not the Only One, or Rhianna's Stay. Her Adele covers are amazing.

1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings and with aquired permissions for covers of other singers.
2. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway.
3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music.
4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old.
5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old!

She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talk with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a Doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind the world that there are still children in need. All proceeds go to charity.

Well that was a pretty insightful comment by you about Michael Jackson. I'm sure you know about the impact Quincy Jones (mentioned by others) had on MJ's career.
As for what's next, the two most common are her (even younger) Norway's Got Talent-winning performances and her AGT Champs performance of Bohemian Rhapsody aired this past winter. You'll probably get a variety of different lists to lose yourself in. So why not one more. I've tried to highlight in a few sentences what each of these represents in terms of her stylistic range, what makes them notable or just why I like them. The idea is that you can then decide for yourself where you want to go if you keep reacting to her. Others may give similar "roadmaps", and multiple different perspectives is never a bad thing!
P.S. I'm not quite sure I agree with the one who says you need to hear 30-40 songs to get a sense of her repertoire, though I do know where they are coming from. My list is 20ish, and I don't think you need to go through nearly all of that to get an *idea* of her stylistic range. Probably 6-8 will get you well on the way! For a song with a kind of sad theme, I’m not sure why listening to this makes me happier every time I hear it. Calming-for-the-spirit performance on a rooftop in downtown Oslo for a radio station. In terms of its brilliance as a completely unique and sparse but faithful arrangement of the original classic song, it is on the same level as Bohemian Rhapsody. That became the iconic version of one of the all time great jazz classics. Flash forward to 2018 (I believe) and there is a big bash at the O2 in London for Quincy Jones’ 85th birthday. Quincy played a pretty large role in the development of another dude’s career - kid named Michael Jackson. At the O2 event he described Angelina as the biggest talent he’d seen come along since Michael Jackson.

Where do I start. :( This is a stunning song written by Brandon Lowry of Baby Fuzz while he was at a songwriting workshop in Oslo. I believe the first person to record the song as a demo with Baby Fuzz was Angelina Jordan. It wasn’t supposed to be released because her family felt the theme of the lyrics (especially the last verse) was too much for a 12-year-old girl. It was leaked in any case. BabyFirst has not objected to the video being out there and it appears her family has come to accept it as well. Baby Fuzz did record their own version of the song eventually which is the official version. It’s a great recording but, frankly, the vocals aren’t even in the same stratosphere as Angelina’s hypnotically beautiful version. This young lady is something else...

Closing comments
Angelina’s musical roots are in jazz. She also has strong blues, R&B and soul influences. But her music has covered pop, country, alternative, EDM, folk, and hard rock (although I’m not sure she’s ever sung a hard rock song in the actual hard rock format, lol). With many artists this might lead one to wonder if they’re a little lost or searching for their place or identity. Angelina‘s core identity is well defined. She’s at a stage of her career when she can experiment with whatever she wants. Her voice isn’t just a voice, it’s a finally tuned musical instrument that has many different capabilities and I personally think it’s great that she’s exploring them all. I don’t frankly see any reason why she would ever need to narrow herself down to one “genre” but if she does that’s also fine and I have no doubt that she will absolutely own it.

Brilliant observation and comparison to MJ, as they are the best examples of musical and emotional intelligence beyond their years probably anyone can think of in singers. As for Angelina Jordan, she clearly understood songs on a wide emotional spectrum long before she could have the life experience to draw on. It is worth mentioning that MJ most likely was underestimated as a musician. He was the king of pop, commercialism and entertainment, but he also had a prodigious understanding of music from an early age. The fact that he wrote commercial music doesn't undermine that. The same also goes for Elton John, who entered The Royal Academy of music at the age of eleven! (Yes you read that correctly). Quincy Jones telling Angelina that she has the same talent as the legend says about everything really. I am not so sure she will have that type career however, sadly it is incredibly difficult to be recognized for your gifts. Talent is just a part of it. But I am hoping the very best for her, and she is on her way to be recognized in the way she deserves, with a lot of devoted fans behind her!

She has "good ear" to know the dynamic of song, timbre, etc. Ear only acoustic sensor of human, and the processor is brain. You can learn to to have "good ear". If you have a chance to listen to unplugged music without sound system, go for it. Buy good sound system, the expensive one is not always the better, but usually more expensive is better. Most expensive one can have a price like sport car.

Disappointing review. Your prominent thought was that her abilities reminded you of Michael Jackson. That she was music smart like Michael. Not a mention about her precise timing, her range or the simple fact that at 9 years of age, she was the one in charge of the Session from start to finish. My hopes are you will afford her a second look. She is the future.
