defeating the von carsteins was no cakewalk. Shortly after dealing with Vlad and Isabella, Manfred showed up with his army and wiped out three of my generals before I was finally able to take him down and claim Sylvania for The Empire.
That’s not even getting into Conrad who was the successor to Vlad and Isabella’s throne before Mannfred.
Your narrator is great, music fits perfectly and the writing is on point. Nice work.

I know the price probably will be unfair just like 40k but atleast with 40k you can mentally get around playing with smaller armies because it's sci Fi but if it's a medieval setting I want to be able to field dozens up on dozen of units without it costing as much as a car otherwise not worth it personally

I love the Vapires and Tomb Kings in Warhammer Fantasy. These are my favourite factions by far. Just so bad ass, and still kind of sane. Vapire Pirates, what do you want more?
The classic villain of the fantasy genre. And always entertaining to see how they're portrayed.
Some strange cross of an animalistic long lived human, creates some very unique stories. And they make great "strange bedfellows" or faustian bargains for heroic characters. Like a corrupted reflection of humanity. And in many cases they're shown as quite beautiful creatures too, not a lot of villains can say the same. Many hollywood tropes push the villains as always being "ugly" or "stupid" or "thuggish". But Vampires sort of rise above that. Sometimes anyways.
And their well known immortality means they can just keep coming back.
WHFB Vampire Counts are my favourite portrayal of vampires across all media, Vlad is such a cool character. Video made me want to play fantasy and spam hordes of skeletons led by the full Von Carstein family again.
They are the most and total pawer of Undead , including media like hellsing ultimate.
The normal vampire in Warhammer fantasy is iqual to Alucard of Hellsing

Alright, the forces of chaos, the vampires, hidden family-line plots of certain elector count dynasties, the tomb kings, the dark elves, and the ROUSes (though I don't believe they exist) are ALL plotting long-game cons to rule mankind behind Karl's back. I get this hilarious image in my head of all of them employing their final master stroke at once and undoing each other perfectly leaving the empire of man both unscathed and unaware what was even happening.
That is basically the default state of the world. The End Times happened when just for once the various plots _didn't_ blow each other up.
One hilarious thing that always happens in my Mortal Empires Campaign as the Empire is that Khalida always Joins the Empire, Brettonia and the Dwarves after the Vampires and Chaos have already been defeated after piggy backing off of one another,
In a Total War Perspective its very predictable but from a Lore perspective its really hilarious, imagine an Undead Tomb King (Queen in this case) just Randomly calls the Big Three for a meeting and they just heard about all this drama, comming from a Thousand Year old Mummy that they just found out was a thing.

One day, I hope we will get to see a fantasy movie featuring Vampires raising hordes of the undead through necromancy, rather than the usual vampire/zombie trope.
Castlevania was pretty close I would say. I mean, okay, it was technically humans who did the necromancy for the vampires, but it was still pretty close.

I think they understate the influence of the Von Carstien's on the ordinary folk. The mostly supported their vampire lords who governed fairly and asked very little of their subjects, especially with low taxes, allowing peasants to live relatively pleasant lives despite the obvious corruption. Yeah, you might have to give up someone every few decades from your village but in return, you get a relatively comfy life for a peasant and the assured protection of sentinels that never sleep.
No marauding warbands of beastmen or norse, no harsh taxes that barely leave you with anything to eat and no threat of a witch hunter burning your whole village because you celebrated festag a little too enthusiastically.
They have a good life for a peasant.
Maybe the best a human can get in Warhammer.
To a degree, yes.
While having to only worry about the one inhuman, bloodthirsty monster squatting in the nearby ruined castle instead of thousands of inhuman, bloodthirsty monsters squatting in the forest is something that can be considered a sweet deal by the standards of the setting, that doesn’t change the fact that life in Sylvania sucks just as hard as it does pretty much everywhere else.
The living standard for Sylvania is Early Middle Ages, while the rest of Not-Europe is High Middle Ages or Renaissance level of development. There is no middle class in Sylvania, no skilled artisans, merchants, or educated professionals. Even _Bretonnia_ has an emergent bourgeoisie; in Sylvania the only career options for people possessing a pulse are ‘impoverished, starving farmer’, ‘impoverished, starving goat and/or sheep herder’, and ‘impoverished, starving ox-cart operator’. Everyone is filthy, malnourished, in terrible health, and some degree of inbred. There’s no hope of anything getting better, no way life will end in any way other than ‘perform backbreaking labor until you keel over from exhaustion’, except for ‘eaten alive by beasts’ or ‘became a Capri-Sun for the asshole in the castle.’

That would be great, but for Nippon. There is barely a shred of information on it so far, other than it is the Japan Fantasy Counterpart Culture of the Warhammer world.
Not much lore on Nippon unfortunately. Really do hope they will be added like Cathay. If anything, The Kingdoms of Ind and the Hinterlands of Khuresh look more possible atm.
My favorite vampire blood line has to be the lords of the former strigos empire known as the strigoi. The kings of the ghouls. These creatures take beastial muscled Bat-like forms and have strength that rivals even the blood dragons. The company they keep are their loyal noble court even if the denizens of that court are hordes of feral ghouls and crypt horrors. They are capable of mounting the dreaded terrorguiest who's death curdling shrieks herald the arrival of both them and their dreaded strigoi rider.

Warhammer; the Old World has already been announced a couple of years ago, and we have even seen some concept art for the stuff they are planning to release for it, mostly of the Kislevite faction that is very much in line with the Total War Warhammer interpretation of that army. It seems likely it will function like the Horus Heresy stuff has with regard to 40K - a parallel game system set earlier in the in-universe timeline, and using a revamped (if you will forgive the pun) version of an earlier ruleset, probably an updated version of the old Eighth Edition Warhammer Fantasy rules.

@@changelingman9687 Neither do many of the vampires form the Warhammer world. They are usually weakened by daylight, but they don't, for the most part, instantly burst into flames. The phenomenon is supposed to be some form of psychosomatic magical effect in the lore - what the vampire believes about itself tends to manifest in its own body, so if it expects to burn in sunlight, it does. If it expects to be scalded by holy symbols, it is, but if it doesn't hold those beliefs, it is highly resistant or wholly immune to those weaknesses. Most Warhammer world vampires expect to be weaker in daylight, gaining their full strength only in darkness, and so that is the way it plays out.
Wait until you meet Imrik...

Explain to me again, why would I not want to be a vampire? Feels like becoming a vampire is the best fate you can attain in Warhammer. I will happily accept a the curse of having to drink blood every now and then.
Aside from the eternal hunger and high risk of becoming insane sooner or later, there are also more direct risks like a whole tomb king faction coming for your undead ass.
You still have to deal with the unending urge for blood which if you don’t drink, you will be driven insane and turn more and more bestial. Becoming a vampire also takes a person’s worst flaws, and dials it up even when they were honourable or good natured, turning you more cruel and twisted.
Dark magic drives humans mad and withers their bodies. Every vampire's true form looks like a rotting corpse, and every vampire is at least a little (and usually a lot) insane and turned significantly more evil by the dark magic that empowers them.

I wish vamps were in 40k, NOT space Marines who drink blood or wear bat winged helmets, but vampire lords, counts, and blood knights waging war against chaos while preying on the rest.
That doesnt fit with thw sci fi aesthetic of 40k

Everybody rejoiced when Manfred were finally caught and the burning could be seen far into Lustria.
Been a diehard 40k fan since 07 but I've been wanting to get into Fantasy lately and I'm not sure where to start.
Two questions:
Is there a baseline series like the Heresy?
Are the Tomb Kings as cool as they look?
Look up 9th age! Thats a great community. You can play as Vampire Covenant or Undying Legions.
The tomb kings are big dick energy. Especially in lore
There is no Warhammer Fantasy book series that is as big as the Horus Heresy which has like 60+ books iirc, but there is the Gotrek & Felix series which is the recommended series for beginners into WHFB lore.
You also have a bunch of trilogies in the form of Black Library Warhammer Chronicles omnibuses detailing important events and characters. Such as The Legend of Sigmar, Rise of Nagash, The Sundering etc.
I’d highly recommend Gotrek and Felix, you really get a feel for the fantasy world. I’d also really recommend total war warhammer III

This was an amazing video but I can't help but feel that Vampires are taking over Halloween a bit.
I mean, I get it. Vampires are the peak of undead most of the time and with all the legends surrounding them they're great for all kind of fictions, especially when you can have "bloodlines" that reflect each famous vampiric legend.
Vampire: the Masquerade was my first tabletop game after all.
Still I feel that we are overlooking great monsters.
From the witches that planned to turn children into mice and had an... Unfortunate reboot; to monsters that lurk in the void between planets like the Xenophorm.
Vampires are easy to make.
Becoming a lich or tomb king is much harder.
I wonder if N-Stoff would work on vampires?
It would interrupt they regeneration for sure since they are vulnerable to fire.
Unfortunately They are also capable of learning and spellcasting.
So they may decide to hide and strike from the shadows.
@@molybdaen11 N-Stoff would burn the shadows. If collateral damage isn't a concern one could burn a given area down to the bedrock, then burn the bedrock. If the Vampire is in a miasma form then aerosolized N-Stoff will also burn the very air and any particles in it, even oxidising the oxygen. One problem is if they could retreat to a completely incorporeal form and from that gather materials to reform. Even powerful oxidisers, as far as I know, can't directly affect spirits and the like.
Would it be too much to ask for a review of the factions in Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia?
