It's great to see that you skate so many styles of board. I'm something of a 'consumer' myself. I have a couple of surf skate setups. A 40" Two Bare Feet longboard that I grafted aa adapter by the same company on to. Interesting but VERY long feeling. A Santa Cruz Carver complete that I bought from Ross at Waves a couple of years back which is smooth as silk but quite heavy. And my latest addition is a Penny Highline with a Waterborne setup. I do love my Pennys (the 36" longboard is still untouchable on my local pump track) so am looking to give this a whirl after my arm heals.

Would be a good to see how you go with the CX on a re issue deck compared to the C5 in the bowl. Direct comparsion kind of thing. And it’s just good to see you bowl riding a surfskate so good excuse for it!

I Would be interested in a bearing comparison for bowl riding.

Jon, even your maintenance vids are edifyingly enjoyable; now i know can ease removal of the grip tape by fast-forwarding the video 😉. btw, did you work on bearings at all while the wheels were off? (and i love your fender suitcase benchtop 😆)

Thanks for the comment! Yeah bit of speed cream in the bearings and the Strat case on the keyboard stand has become the black and decker workmate of my skateboard maintenance setup 😂

Have you ever tried putting your Spitfire 58mm on the surfskate for the bowl it would lower it a lot in addition to removing the pads. In bowl I ride my surfskate with 60mm rat Bones from Powell it is great, it is lower, harder but still a good grip, give more accelaration and release better from grinds.

My setup is Soulboardiy Adam 32" carbon X with a 17,5" WB (3 options predrilled upon buying from 16,5 to 18,5) that deck is a marvel. I have slide V3 trucks and as I said Powell Peralta rat Bones 60mm 90a form bowl riding and stock Slide 70mm 78a for cruising and "surf training" manoeuvres of flat/banks

Great idea, yeah I’ve tried 60mm 97a slimeballs on it, and it felt ace 👍
