    Keep after it Emma! When I started running in 2007, I couldn't run for 10 seconds at 350 lbs. Now I'm down to 187lbs and have run a number of marathons and 50 miles on 50th birthday. I ran 2018 Chicago, which is an awesome race. The crowd support at Chicago is huge. You are in nowhere as bad as shape as me in '07, so you've got this! Keep going after your goals!

    I love you Emma! When I first started watching you my mile time was around 8:30-9:00 minutes! After about a week I found out how to pace myself a lot better, my mile time is now 6:57! 😃

    I ran the LA marathon this past March and I can say for sure the beginning of training is the hardest part. Getting used to the slower pace and higher impact was an adjustment, but def worth it when you you finish the marathon!! Keep thinking about cross that finish line!!! So excited to see you get after it and accomplish this goal!!

    I have found that throwing a few (6 to 8) moderately hard hill repeats (30 to 50 sec.)
    into my training now and then breaks up the monotony, strengthens the legs without pounding them, and helps improve form. It's a nice break from the continuous slow mileage. Nothing like hill repeats to wake up the legs.

    You definitely hit the nail on the head! I just finished my first xc season and coming from only playing soccer and competitive cheerleading, my endurance as far as cardio was there, but the physical pain from impact was what really became my personal struggle. I’ve watched you since starting my long distance running journey and you’ve inspired me so much that I dropped 9 mins off my 5k time this season! Best of luck!

    Thanks for posting the starting point of your marathon training. It's a long process, but you can do it. Love hearing the easy pace talk. This is a huge part of training for a marathon. Once I've got deep into my training, I've learned to look forward to the easy days. I've found my faster days have gone much better and have been less injured. Good luck with your training!

    After every run you should record a clip of how u feel, so u can see how you have progressed once its marathon day.

    Slowing down is very frustrating but it totally works! I ran my fastest marathon by running the long run slower. Trust it!

    your videos like really hype me up😂 after watching them i always go run. So far after i’ve been watching you my mile PR is 5:41 and i’m 13 but i really wanna break five minutes and work hard this summer, wasn’t sure if i could do it but these episodes help my confidence with that 😂

    OMG!!! Within 2 minutes I was already laughing so hard!!! You come up with some of the funniest things I have ever heard!!! I love it! LOL I could also use some advice because I am a cross country runner in high school. I am the coaches daughter, so I go out, but I really don't enjoy the sport. I am not motivated at all, and the only thing that keeps me going is my friends. Is there anything I could do?

    Have you considered running some of your first month’s mileage on trails or tracks?
    As a hobby jogger with knee issues, I have a lot of success and progression with just one or two road runs a week. All of my workouts and most of my mileage are on track or trail.

    hi I live in the Inland Empire, I run marathons too and I'd love to run with you sometime; maybe we could find a pretty coastal place and meet in the middle sometime! I'm a nurse so weekdays work often better than weekends for me! :D Fun to see your down-to-earth journey!

    Okay this is probably only my problem with running...but it gets hard for me to breathe (cause I don’t know the proper way) like sometimes I feel like I choke on air 😂 and I know I can do it and keep running but it’s just my breathing isn’t in match with my foot steps and it’s just ugh nvm don’t know how to explain it-

    You need more cushion shoes for long runs . 35s are a daily short run shoe and 3-7 miles runs only for me.
