DeMar hitting back-to-back game winners is a special moment in NBA history not only because it’s never been done before, it’s also because it was done in two separate years, on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. One of those silly insane stats. Not to mention both were tough contested shots with very small windows. My favorite moment of last season.
Also the fact that, I believe it was Kuz, who had just hit the seemingly game winning three the play before! It was like dude hit that and we thought it was over and yet here we are😂😂
Also he had his crazy run in February that set the all time record for most games in a row with 35+ points on 50%+ shooting. That stretch along with the back to back buzzer beaters was more entertaining than most of the playoffs, that was 90% blowouts lol
@@bilbobaggins33 yes he beat Chamberlain’s record, although it’s a highly specific record it’s also emblematic of super efficiency at a high level. For a guy in year 13 it’s miraculous.

I love that this brother casually inserted a conversation with his therapist (like theyre a friend) and revealed he's a thrill junkie. Normalizing this is so dope for the culture.
I was bartending at an old Irish bar in Chicago at the time he hit the second shot on NYD. The place EXPLODED. Might be my favorite sports memory just because of the environment. DeRozan is a legend. A thoughtful dude. Glad he's a Bull.
I thank JJ for doing this podcast.. Every player he brings to do these interviews just make me appreciate that person more. Not just as a basketball player, but as someone that I respect everytime I walk by then, even if they never played basketball. Through these interviews I finally understand the saying "It's more than basketball"..
Sincerely, one of the best interviews I've ever watched. The quality of questions and the quality of Demar's answers demonstrate the genuine love of the game. Real.

I agree w/ both JJ & Tommy that DeMar has a very natural way of telling stories and is very comfortable w/ who he is now and what he's been through. Endearingly honest and inspirational person who I think a lot of people can identify w/ the obstacles he's faced. Thanks DDR for all the great stories & sharing your experiences so openly w/ genuine humility.

Demar just has that intangible thing that makes you want to root for him & makes you want the best for him. I admire how openly he shares about his journey. He's so underrated as a player too!! Another awesome episode.
One of my favourite players ever, such a humble and hard working dude too, not to mention that watching a Chicago game is so damn entertaining every time!
Oh man, finally! Thank you so much JJ and Tommy and everyone behind the cameras, this is truly a great platform for athletes, to show us that, at the end of the day, they’re just like us, so then we can have more empathy towards them and start to understand more about them. DeMar is one of my favorite players, so humble, chill, and I now how he feels, I lost my pops too and to hear him is, so warming and comfortable. I hope he gets a ring, with the Bulls.
For someone like me who hits the gym 5 times a week, the mental health is tough because I’m hard on myself when I didn’t do enough at the gym or missed it all together due to being too busy and go thru mental withdrawals. This really helped me relate to those types of issues and glad to hear it.
podcast changed my life. never had an outlet for the highest level basketball and insight on life and motivation. this can touch anybody who want's to see the details and process of bettering themselves through different scenarios.
I loved Demar for his kindness, tenderness, generosity, so genuine, and he always gives more than he receives. He will always be in the hearts of the Raptors fanbase. Forever welcome in Toronto, Canada. Love you Deebo.
DeMar is such a real, humble, insightful, reflective person, who is incredibly tensive to listen too … beside being a such a great basketball player, hat off

This episode was a treat. DeMar DeRozan is my favorite player so it's always dope watching him play. My goal is to one day go and meet him and just chat with him. Truly an amazing human being
This was a great episode and being a Laker fan since Elgin Baylor around 1958, the Lakers Fu&%ed Up by not getting DeRozan. Prayers to the people affected with mental health issues. I felt a lot of honesty coming into this episode. Now I'm looking for a Part 3. Thanks Tommy, JJ and Mr. DeRozan.
I absolutely love and appreciate so much when I see grown men talking about times that they've cried. Love how DDR gives props to Torrey Craig for being an excellent defender. Plenty of casual fans have no idea who he is and it's a nice gesture to respect the guys who grind to stay in the league fulfilling thankless roles.
The Soccer comment makes sense. Here in Toronto, the coaches from both Raptors and Maple Leafs often listen in or join in on each other practices. The Maple Leaf Coaches would use Basketball practices to get a better idea of floor spacing and apply that to their game plan. And many of the NBA players who have good footwork, are the ones who played soccer.
