If my mom packed me an orange like this when I was a kid, I'd actually have eaten it. How could you throw out an orange with this much love and care in it?
Yeah, what the hell! OkAy, I mean chefs may find this easy or slightly above that threshold but for the people like me this isn’t in the conversation for middle to just below very difficult! Obviously, we all fell victim to it whatever though.
Nearly 1.4 million views. At 2 mins 37 secs, that's nearly 7 years of combined human time dedicated to watching somebody peeling an orange. Congratulations.
@CastorpsWelt Thanks for sharing this. I smoke pipe tobacco and sometimes it gets too dry. When it does I usually put an apple core in the tobacco to moisten it, but I'm going to do this and try using an orange peel.
This may not be something I would do on an every day basis. But I think it is a really neat method for an orange presentation when entertaining. I can think of different ways to decorate the orange even further. Thanks for being a catalyst on this for thinking outside the (peel) box!
Thank you SO much. That is a great way to do it. I was preparing 15 oranges for the juicer and after the second Orange my thumb was stinging doing it the old way. Your way is is so much faster and less work.
+ISHD ISHDINA this is a good idea but i wouldnt do it if i was just eating an orange, for presentation or needing the skin though this is a great idea if you dont have a proper peeler. you could make candied orange skins easily this way.
Here's a really quick and easy way: Build an orange peeling factory, buy an oceanic cargo ship and some huge trucks, hire a couple hundred people from another continent, bribe a couple officials and voila, a wonderfully peeled orange!
Quick and easy, really dude? If you can scale that down, though, so most regular people could do it as a small business starting with a few hundred/thousand bucks, and keep it ETHICAL, I would of course find value in your ideas. Otherwise, c'mon.....
Hello everybody, it seems that this peeling method is not easy for all of you. But I think, if you try this a few times, it will work. I learned this peeling method from my mother, so I can't peel an orange in any other way. This peeling method is also good for all of you who hate orange peel under their fingernails (like me). And I think it's really a matter of practice: I only need some seconds to make my orange ready to go :-)
this is great info for juicing. my mom in law showed me this but I had forgotten ,. she also showed me how to scald pearl onions so you can easily peel them.
actually this is very impressive! did you mother invent this way of peeling? this should preserve orange for much longer than leaving ti without skin. and good way if you have oranges with too hard skin, those things can really mess up finger tips to the point of pain. good call, anja!
after trying this one of these or a combination of these are possible: 1- orange was going bad and therefore too soft, I pretty much mashed it with the spoon 2. just need more practice 3. orange is defective 4. spoon is defective 5. I'm defective 6. you're a witch

practice makes perfect, keep practicing if you can't get it right the first time. it's so amazing and satisfying when you can finally master it and do it quickly ;'))
The obvious advantage of this method is that you can peel the orange ahead of time and retain the peel for transporting it for later consumption. Is it the easiest and fastest way? I use a paring knife to the score the peel making two rings around the orange (the rings cut through the top and bottom of the orange, dividing it into quarters). I then use the same knife to pull away the peel from the orange. This method also pulls out the sinewy white pith inside the orange. I have this method down to half a minute.
warm the fruit in hot water and the pith will shrink away from the fruit making it very easy to seperate the rind from the fruit. I learned this from having to peel cases at a time.
Now I need a way to eat it without splatter and juice all over. I might be getting weird oranges, but mine seem to think that between the pieces there's an indestructible bond, which every piece is happy to lay its life for.
You're right if you try this way , it'll take a lot of time to peel an orange like this . If you wanna peel an orange easily , you'll just need a machine .
If my mom packed me an orange like this when I was a kid, I'd actually have eaten it. How could you throw out an orange with this much love and care in it?
As someone who loves to eat oranges. I eat them daily. Thanks for this tip! Super easy and effective
Wow! TH-cam is addicting, you watch music videos, then next thing you know your watching how to peel oranges!😂

Ich stand gerade vor meinen Orangen und hab mir gedacht wie man das am klügsten machen kann ohne sich vollzusauen :D , danke dir, sehr gute Methode !
The way you cut and the orange into exactly equal and perfect cute two bowl shapes is really commendable...looks fantastic! Hats off!
Love it ! Do not listen to the complainers.Just look at how many people have watched this, so you must be doing something right.
sehr gut, praktisch und schnell, danke Brigitte
Alte Familienrezepte muss man weitergeben :-)
You definitely make it look easy. I made too much juice leak out trying this. It angered me so. I still like this way, and will practice.👍
This was actually pretty helpful for me.
I don't know about this man, I think the normal way is at least as fast.
BUT this one is fun and original. So still props :)
I think the gist wasn't to show a "faster" way, but a clean, neat way to take one in one's lunch? The title says "Orange to go".
Thanks for this video. I just applied your technique and it was successful. What a delicious orange I just had!
If this is the easy way, I hate to see the goddamn hard way.
!Ikr!
Yeah, what the hell! OkAy, I mean chefs may find this easy or slightly above that threshold but for the people like me this isn’t in the conversation for middle to just below very difficult! Obviously, we all fell victim to it whatever though.
😂😂 was saying the same 😂
Ha! Truth!
😳
Man the music/tune for this video is fantastic!!! Big props to the musicians!
Its never to late to peel an orange and make a fresh orange juice! Thanks man!!!

Wow...!!!
Thank you SO much. That is a great way to do it. I was preparing 15 oranges for the juicer and after the second Orange my thumb was stinging doing it the old way. Your way is is so much faster and less work.
Good job. I use a similar method to create little baskets with tangerines!
3 minutes almost???, too long, I use under 40 seconds the primitive way with a nice set of fingers
She had to be slower, so people could understand how to do it.
Understand? It isnt exactley a yale approoved science test. Shes pealing an orange for cryin out loud
+ISHD ISHDINA and your watching the video. No difference
I wanted to learn how to save time upon those 40 seconds I already use, this tought me to use more time... epic fail
+ISHD ISHDINA this is a good idea but i wouldnt do it if i was just eating an orange, for presentation or needing the skin though this is a great idea if you dont have a proper peeler. you could make candied orange skins easily this way.
Whoa that’s incredible :O You even get to keep and use the peel as a container !
Wow. Thanks for the tips. I really love oranges

Amen!
In my case would work oranges in my country have a way smoother and thin skin.
CastorpsWelt It would help to have some commentary with the video. Like, a tip or two during some parts.

+Kiwichristel Oh is THAT what the tapered end of the peeler is for? I thought it was just there to cut into my hand as I used the hook end.
this is great info for juicing. my mom in law showed me this but I had forgotten ,. she also showed me how to scald pearl onions so you can easily peel them.
I tried it. It worked for me. I think I will use this method again. Thanks!
Worked pretty good with the spoon, but a butter knife seems to work better for me. Took me about 45 seconds to peel it. Great idea....thanks.
Got it perfect in just a minute! Thank You For Sharing Castorpswelt
Really very good. Easy to do. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼😊
thank you it worked
actually this is very impressive!
did you mother invent this way of peeling?

good call, anja!
Thanks I'm going to use the peel as a cupcake holder.
This worked amazingly. Thanks!
Love this. Seems a little fussy but cool.
Colleen H. Kane hey
GREAT.........thanks.....( boy have I been 'wrong' in cutting one to bits lol )
after trying this one of these or a combination of these are possible:
1- orange was going bad and therefore too soft, I pretty much mashed it with the spoon
2. just need more practice
3. orange is defective
4. spoon is defective
5. I'm defective
6. you're a witch
Mucho trabajo, mejor y mas rápido es en la forma tradicional
by the time you did all this... I peeled my orange the normal way and ate it. I will say that its a great trick
Worked for me! 👏🏻👌🏻

For people with arthritis, this great. The oranges from my tree are really hard to peel with out destroying the whole thing.
Thank you! Sebastian did it like this in the anime and I always wondered how
practice makes perfect, keep practicing if you can't get it right the first time. it's so amazing and satisfying when you can finally master it and do it quickly ;'))
That is not very fast. Clever. But not fast.
They also didn't mentioned fast
Removing a toe nail looks crazy familiar with this!
Now you've dirtied two utensils.
+DanielS Better than my hands ;-)
+Castor's
+DanielS ahahahahahahah

+CastorpsWelt orange hands stink ugh
very very beautiful to present an orange.thanks for sharing it
Who knew!?!? Thanks for the tip.
Very nice , I can use the orange skin like a bowl for other dish or dessert presentation.
How did I get here...
+thes0mething I actually googled "easiest way to peel an orange" to get here
i will tell you how, but first let me take a selfie
haahahahahahaaa shut up

IDK how I even got here lol

The point was how to make an "Orange to Go", not how to do it fast. I loved the video.
Amazing. It works!
This is a good method of those oranges that are hard to peel
My mom came in while watching this and she said "what are you watching?" then I said "how to peel an orange" 😂😂
warm the fruit in hot water and the pith will shrink away from the fruit making it very easy to seperate the rind from the fruit. I learned this from having to peel cases at a time.
Anonymous lmao!!!!
Who is this Damn Bastard?
dude u wasted too mush water and gas doin that the easiest way is to rip the skin out with your bare hands
I just eat them like grapes. NOmonomnom
and then you eat a warm orange?! must be delicious...
It really works :) Tried it two times no. Much easier and i dont have to peel the stupid skin of. Took me a minute.

I find this video strangely hypnotizing
.. that was not intended, promise! ;-)

CastorpsWelt i dont belive you ILLUMRGHTSIYTYT
CastorpsWelt so do I
You are such... A genius....
Wow! Did you patent this technique?
Great techque and ways of peeling an orange
Ilike so much the sound track. who's played?
Fastest way: Eat it like an apple. No pealing, no bullshit.
pretty clever...but is it tedious? must try it...
I just did this and it worked great! Yummy!
I liked the idea ( I don't like the Orange peel getting under my fingernails either).
Now I need a way to eat it without splatter and juice all over. I might be getting weird oranges, but mine seem to think that between the pieces there's an indestructible bond, which every piece is happy to lay its life for.
Excellent!
I like to do this and use the orange peel as a cute bowl for fruit salad.
Now I want a orange!
yea, being the trickster master cuz of all these videos
easy way? it took so long, that xmass passed two times while I was watching this video
true. I did not think it easy. but looks nice :)
mean teen well yes it looks nice but it's useless, just for effect
You are right. Just for effect.
Not funny.
Great one! NICE!
I got my orange and my knife and some reason I thought rotating the orange would rewind the video 😂😂😂😂😂
Im gonna try this :)
great idea
😊
that's really nice. thanks...
Pretty awesome!
I peeled and ate a big ass orange the regular way as I watched this.
I think butter knife is easier than spoon. Thanks for this clip.
Haha this is great!
Nice! and it only took 30 minutes?! wow!
I wanted to re-watch the opening to A Clockwork Orange but I guess this'll do.
too busy jamming to the music to watch the video haha
this is definitely not the easy way to peel an orange
You're right if you try this way , it'll take a lot of time to peel an orange like this . If you wanna peel an orange easily , you'll just need a machine .
wow that was amazing
