    Thanks. I just received an old skyway track and 6 cars from 1967 from a relative. Always looking for different or better way. I do not oil that much it ends up everywhere, and I check the PU shoes for proper level max contact with the rail. I like your commutator brush but I do not like removing material if I don't have to. I used a copper cleaner since these have been sitting in a box for decades. I would have liked to see the car run after. Always like to see peoples cars run. I will look for other videos.

    It's good to see your enthusiasm for these classic t-jets, but you forgot to clean the most important part, the pickup brushes. By the way, that was a lot of oil. You really don't need that much. Anyway, that's my opinion.

    This worked great and totally revived an old model motoring car I had. Thanks for the tip about the body as well. I didnt have the abrasive for the armature so I rubbed paper against it

    Nice, clear process. Pretty much the way I fell into doing maintenance from my early days as an adventurous kid taking stuff apart. Still doing it 60 years later. How tight do you pin your armatures against the gear plate? No wobble, or just a hint of wobble? I seem to vary it with each car and it works out most the time. Sometimes with no wobble, there’s too much friction after a dozen hot laps and I need to let ‘em wobble a little more to keep ‘em running. Fray or regular t-jet, this seems to be the case.

      You have to have a little bit of clearance, but in most cases, just maybe .005” or so on a t-jet anywhere from stock class up thru fray class.

    That is Habby’s Freejet oil. You can get direct from Habby or you can get it at onestopslotshop.
    Supplies... I think the tweezer and screwdrivers were from mcmaster-carr. The qtips from Walgreens. Paper towel from grocery store and cut into small pieces by me...cheap-o scott towels work good, not real fuzzy. Round toothpick from grocery store. QD electronics cleaner from auto parts store or hardware store. Hope that helps.

    can you run those front ends on a old aurora track ?

    • @Rondo1234560
      @Rondo1234560  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They will work, but if the track is really bumpy then they may not be much of an improvement over a more standard, lighter-weight setup.
