Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. I can just imagine how different history would've been had Dervish lived, seeing him input his wisdom and knowledge into Ahmad's children would've been a different outcome

When the Sultan wears it, it means he's going to execute somebody.
all that changed when his son Sultan Murad took power. He himself kills traitors right on the spot even if not wearing a red kaftan. A Diwan isn't a friendly sight for the officials as anyone can be put to death.

Dervesh with Ahmat was like Ibrahim with Suleman. It's so sad that the ones who love and protect you the most end up dying because of your orders 😑.

Dervish and Mustafa are a closer comparison but I do get your point. Dervish didn't seem as cockie and arrogant. The sad part with him is his affection for Ahmed's mother which could never be fulfilled.

This was such a great scene. The parallels of Handan and Dervish walking among their people, Kösem looking at Handan realizing she's been hurt beyond repair, Dervish looking at Ahmet and the sultan realized he has killed his most loyal friend and will never forgive himself... so well done

@Asad Ahmad Muslims in India at the time of the country's independence were 10% and now they are 15%, In Pakistan Hindus were 24% and now less than 2%, in Bangaldesh Hindus were 30% and now only 7%! If they are persecuted how can multiply in number? They enjoy special status a minority, they have their own personal law, they have reservations in education and employment, what more you want? I dont think you verify for facts, just swayed away by the biased media.

The story of Boşnak Derviş Mehmed Pasha is nothing like this series. Such drama that goes against history. It should be stated somewhere that this is not the truth.
Dervish Pasha is a recurring character of Pargali Ibrahim Pasha from the predecessor drama of Muhtesem Yuzyil
Dervish killed his Cruel Murderer Father who killed 19 of his own Brothers and one of his son , and infact he saved Ahmad . And Ahmad killed Dervish itself . Huge mistake

Such is the fickleness of life and this thing we call 'Power' Dervish walked into the Palace proud and exalted as the second most powerful official in the empire and was carried out a slain corpse in a body bag. His whole relationship with Ahmed was a paradox;
- He was his servant and his mentor
- He saved Ahmed's life only to die by his hands
- He murdered a Sultan to save a prince not knowing the prince would become a Sultan and then kill him for that very crime.
This is not a Greek tragedy its an Ottoman abnormality.

if this was in the time of Sultan Murad, Derwish wouldn't be put to death by the Sultan's own hands as he wished because Sultan Murad is likely to say, "It's not you who decide how you would be put to death". Looking back, I'd say Ahmed was a very very good, merciful and mature Sultan.

@@joyariaaktershayma5241 Although there wasn't a record of what illness it was, Handan is recorded to have been struck when a lingering illness that brought about her death through natural causes. It's very unlikely she was poisoned, either by herself or others, as we would have heard rumors seeping out about it (we see rumors of it with Nurbanu's death or even Selim, a brother of Ahmed's, but not here, which is very telling).
It's also unlikely that Dervis had anything to do with the death of Ahmed's father. More likely it was an act of Ahmed's show of asserting power once he took the throne officially from his mother's co-regency. Handan had, at that point, filled the hierarchy of the palace with as many Bosnian allies as she could and Ahmed, who, unlike in the show, had possibly little respect or, at least, interest in his mother's political opinions, wanted to wipe the slate clean to have his own men in power.
The first thing is that handan died in 1605 and dervish pasha died in 1606 this is the whole truth now you know what I am trying to say
