      Steve Osborne, I agree 100%. he didnt care about leaving the EU either, that was just his opportunity to further his own ambitions. As far as Im concerned he should be dragged out of Downing Street immediately. He was happy to play fast and loose with rules and laws so the same could reasinably be applied to him. And then he should be expelled from the Conservative party as he did with the decent ones who opposed his own ego driven agenda.

      Absolutely. The only reason for any delay in him actually leaving office is hoping for something to happen to allow him to stay in office. Or else he's combing legal options to allow him to stay in power in the same way that he tried to become a dictator by proroging parliament.

    I find it unbelievable that MPs are only now talking about Johnson's trip to Lebedev's without his security detail. This has been common knowledge for years.

      Will be interesting to see if there's any further revelations regarding his relationship with Lebedev, was he clinging to power to keep things under wraps...? It's been very easy for these these wealthy Russians some with questionable links to the Kremlin, to embed themselves into english society into positions of power and influence. Would not be surprised to find these people contributed heavily towards the brexit campaign.

      If they fire you at work, you are still there until your notice period ends or until an agreed milestone (like finding a replacement, for example) is hit.

    As they say at the end of this interview, it's very likely Boris is hoping that something will come up before he actually leaves No.10 and, despite today's events, he'll be able to remain as PM.
    Confident delusion has worked very well for him to date.

      This supposition has no constitutionsal basis. Deputy PM isn't enshrine in the UK constitution, it is purely an honorific bestowed by the PM.

    It comes to something when even in the speech itself outside number 10, the moments where he hints that he is going are seen to be the most truthful part of the whole speech. He doesn't actually use the word 'resign' or its equivalent but you can just about detect a glimmer of him telling the truth for once - "I am going".
    There we have the real person. No smoke or mirrors or a disguise to pedal something in front of the British public and catch us while we're not looking. It is weirdly, absurdly refreshing to hear him almost uttering something which is not a lie. It is disturbing. If he had actually said "Now I'm going to resign" that would have been the most shocking part of the whole BS, because he wouldn't be lying...

    The issue as i see it is that while he won't be prime minister he will still be given opportunities to spout his lies being an MP, writing in newspapers, giving speeches. He needs to be properly cast out and never given the opportunity to be in a position of power. If only he would take the money he's made with his lies and power moves and disappear.
