Just an FYI, when we were landscaping, we took a picture of our house and went to a garden center. We told them what direction our house faced and they recommended bushes and plants that would flourish . They drew out plans for us. It didnt cost a thing and helped us so much!
Hey Shyvonne! Chris is thinning out. So handsome. You're doing an amazing job! Parenting isn't perfect. You learn along the way. I definitely did with mine. Sidenote, yard work ain't no joke! I started last weekend, and I'm sure a part of me got left behind last weekend. 😂❤😊
I have a suggestion for you with the kids, give them Saturday chores in the yard to do with you, start with 3 to 4 hours, they will earn points according to the job, infact make a fun Yard Chore board, each job pays in points, at the end of 2 weeks, each child can exchange their points for things, example; pizza, coloring books, games, movies, group activity for everyone, it makes it fun & you get more cooperation from the kids better.
Hello shyvonne, I am a gardener and knockout roses is the way to go, they love hot sun and you don't have to spray them for bugs or black spots. They are the easiest roses to grow, just water them good until they are established. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos, have a blessed day ❤
Your yard guy was robbing you at $100 a month or so to mow and trim the hedges!! My boyfriend and I knock out our yard together. While he's mowing I'm doing all of the edging along the driveway and sidewalk, raking, and sweeping. It takes us about an hour and I'm so proud of it afterward. Home owning is really rewarding when you take care of it yourself! Our next big task is getting on the roof to clear out the gutters and clean the shingles which have some discoloration.
If he was doing his job, that actually is not too expensive. Based on someone’s schedule it’s definitely worth it. We’ve had a lawn guy for our houses. I can make way more in that time than it would cost.
Good for you getting out and taking care of your yard I’m sure your neighbors really appreciate you for that. It was so motivational watching you get it done. Some weed whackers come with a strap that you can put around your body that hooks on the weed whacker to lighten the weight on your wrist and arms, a real game changer. ❤
Hey Shyvonne Great job on taking care of the lawn and hedges. Props to the girls and Chris for helping. I recommend you keep those hedges just let them grow tall and keep them trimmed and neat. This way you create a natural fence barrier for the side of your house by keeping it private for you and your family when you get your patio awning for the side of the house and have those dinners and lunches outside. Made it to the end❤
Hey, shyvonne I am usually a love for women and yard work . I think it is the completion of stamina to us working and believing we can achieve those hard to do things. I'm on this much so everyday my old man kicks it hard with his business and pulls me in and I love it. I'm looking forward to the finishing steps and looking forward to seeing your work. Good job on your performance.
Hi Shyvonne, I just wanted to say that you are really a great role model for all of your children. I’m looking forward to seeing your videos on your outdoor makeover. I can’t believe you have been in your home 2 years already,I’ve been watching your videos since you did your outdoor makeover in the last home you were in. 🥰❤
Hey Queen Shyvonne, you got some good GREAT kids! Put on a mask when you working in that Yard. You're well covered 😅 just put on a mask because that stuff is going into your lungs. God bless you! I love your videos!❤❤
👋🏾 just my friendly opinion that you ask for. You are a grear mom. You already pay your kidds a great deal of money with all the activities they are in. It takes lots of money to be in all the things there involved in. You all are a beautiful family and as a family its ok to work together as family to make your house a home without rewarding them. There's going to be lots of things they're going to learn and have to do without being reward. 😊❤
Hey Shyvonne! I’m a former CTown resident born and bred! I know your families on your Mom and Dad’s side! You look just like your beautiful Aunt Patty. Just a suggestion on your yard waste. Get some of the brown paper lawn bags for the grass and trimmings. A lot of companies won’t take yard waste in the plastic garbage bags. I like your content and wish you the best. My daughter is also a TH-camr! Good idea for the summer lawn care business for your son.
Once you get too old you can’t get out there without getting injured. But while you’re young get out there. Exercise and beautifying your place gives you good humble rest at the end of the day. First few weeks hurt but after that you can look in the mirror and see what a change ! Both in spirit and sight. Boy I miss those days.
Great job!! This is one thing I don't miss after we sold our home. We're happy with the wonderful landscaping crew at our apartment complex taking care of everything. 🤣👍🏽
Hello Shyvonne, I am 68 years old and I mow and trim my own grass too. I'm retired so I have to watch the money and the yard crews want to come every 2 wks and that can get expensive. Also, you mentioned your electrical bill being $700 a month. I can't imagine. When you get some spare change, maybe you can get an electrician to come check the wiring and outlets in your home. There could be a problem that you can fix to help. My house was built in 1984 it's 2 stories, so I bought a new AC unit outside, and you wouldn't believe how much that decreased my electrical bill. I love you and your videos. Keep up the good work!!
I can't wait for your basement video. I've always wondered why you didn't show it, I thought it was just the one in your old house you didn't like. Love your videos ❤❤❤
You’re such a great mom! Im single with no kids and its a struggle doing all of the things necessary to maintain a home but, when you do it yourself, its a different flex and you can go treat yourself to a pedi with the money you’ve saved ❤😊!
❤ I've been my own yard person for 30yrs. My nextdoor neighbor taught me everything she knew, and I'm very thankful, may she RIP. Someone mentioned how rewarding it is after you've finished your yard and I agree. I'm going to give you a few pieces of advice; always wear eye protection. My BIL lost sight in one eye from a piece of debris. Weedeaters turn either left or right, which will be the direction of throw. Back and forth will throw debris in all directions. Buy bug killer concentrate and mix with water in a pump sprayer, or buy the hose-end type and spray around your foundation and shrubs for bugs. Get bug killer for indoors (pet friendly) because bugs will come inside if indoors is not treated. Finally, buy extra after market batteries for the weedeater from the Amazing store. You're doing a great job, especially wearing all of the hats you wear. Monies for doing chores is no different than working 9-5. I wish you and your family much success. Peace and Blessings 🙏🏾❤😊
❤Hey Shyvonne oh my goodness I don't blame you I'm 61 and I still run from water bugs! The attics and basement are by far the scariest! get somebody else to do it because, I absolutely cannot. Great job on the outside clean up and teaching kids. Definitely yes to reward them for the extra help. Keep vlogging I'll be watching for sure 🥂💘!
I think hydrangea or azalea bushes would be beautiful in front. Lilac bushes would smell delish. Rose bushes are kind of sparse. They might have to be put on a trellis. Ive been push mowing almost 2 acrea while my riding mower is in the shop. I mow continueous for 2 hours, break 20 minutes, go back for another 2 . It takes me 6 hours total , sometimes 2 days in between picking up grandkids from school. Im 60. Its a witch, but noone else but me to do it. I weedeat, burn debris, all of it. #girlpower!!❤
Shyvonne I love how you take so much pride in making your home look good inside and out! I grew up in the same house since second grade(1972) and my mom always kept the front of our house looking so nice. She planted flowers and they grew so pretty! My dad worked on things inside the house and I was so proud of how nice our home looked and my friends always wanted to come over. I know when your kids are all grown up they will really be grateful for everything you do for them especially providing them with a beautiful home! My dad passed away in 1998 and eventually my mom had to give up ownership of the house and rent it until the beginning of the pandemic when he sold it so we had to move out and I still miss living in that house but I will always be grateful for the many years of great memories! You are making wonderful memories for your kids and they are so lucky to have such an amazing mom!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤️
Doing yard work can be a workout, but it's good if you have help. I see you getting it done, I usually pay the guy across street from me to cut my grass, he doesn't charge much, but if I had a storage unit, I can get my own lawn mower and do it, but my yard need so much work, I need the money to get it done. So hopefully one day I can. Tree cutting is expensive, I had pay 1500 to get a big tree cut and de-rooted, and that was during covid, it cost way more now and I have more trees that need to be cut. Thanks for sharing 😊
❤ I get Now I barely go down to my basement. But I plan on changing that. I have a fear of driving on the highway that will likely not change. 😂you do what you can and will eventually get to the point where it’s no longer a fear. I totally get it. Blessings to you and the family.
Bearded Iris do fantastic in full sun and come in a ton of different colors, no real maintenance required it looks like you may have some already planted. Lilies are another option they don’t require maintenance either and both will do good in your zone through the winter.
I was waiting for you, Shyvonne, but I had to start working in my basement last week! And you are right--it's a mental thing! I'm trying to remove at least 10 items I haven't used in years out of there every other day. I have far too much stuff that I love but don't use anymore. Hopefully someone else will appreciate it. Slow and steady wins the race.😊
Good job Shyvonne!!! And Chris( it was nice to see little Chris. He seems like such a nice young man. ) Yes, you and kiddos can do yourselves. That guy overcharged you. I love gardening and yard work for the look of the yard and the workout . I suggest you do mowing once a week and shrubs once a week as well or at least every 2 weeks to not let things get out of control and to make things easier. I always clean my house really well in the early morning on yard work/mow day so that when I come in to shower after working hard , my house is clean and my yard is done!!
❤❤❤❤ we got this sis its just my daughters and i 21 24 15 and my dad showed my daughter how to cut grass and clean up my yard not knowing one day he would die and i would need her to help with my yard and my yard is big and lots of bushes that my dad planted but its beautiful my hat goes off to you im a single mother working and raising my daughters to be self sufficient and go getters and work for everything they want in life it feels good to have working children that can help and some help more then others but i get you i have that child that dont like yard work or helping but im in her butt and she knows i dont play games one day you will be without me like im without my parents❤
You should watch basement makeover videos. Knowing your basement gets water, but floor paint with wall improvement, stylish outdoor rugs or outdoor furniture, could make your basement look the way you like the rest of your home. Just thinking of ways to get rid of your fear.
I had to end up putting stones and stepping stones on our front area of house, because our grass would just burn even if we watered, we could never catch up. Even flowers would burn. So we just have a couple of small bushes, which need trimmed. I think it looks great.👍⭐️
Great job getting your yard together. When I was young my mom was single so my brother and sister had to help. Glad your Children are able to help. I am single with no kids so it can be hard keeping our yard upkeep.i have a guy that cut my grass twice a month.do I understand you as well.
My home is on the corner so i have bushes in the front and all the way down the side it may take me 2 days but i get it done and save money not hiring anyone the plus is its good exercise i guess all older home had bushes instead of fences back in the day we have to put our branches and clippings in lawn bags for recycling can't put them in plastic bags..u got this #strong momma ❤
Looks great dearest. I used to take two days on my yard that is smaller than yours. First the hedges trimmed and edging. Next day lawnmower. Done ! And cooler weather less time.
Whew!!! I would pay that $110 in a quickness! 😂 Just look at it as an outfit/handbag/shopping.That was a lot of work! But then again, I don't like doing that work on our house. 😊 You did a great job! And your weight loss looks awesome! ❤ Take care.
I have to do my yard too. I watched a lawn care video to learn how to do my lawn. I have learned how important fertilizer is for getting rid of weeds. Loving your video, yard looks good.
Hey Shyvonne & family , I do my own yard work and keep the tree limbs away from the roof , you don’t want them to fall on your roof & damage the roof . Before removing hedges and trees Check with your city first ( permit ) have fun & be safe …
A very good day one doing the lawn , so sweet of chris to stop and help you even though he just got off work hats off to you mom... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤ I be wanting to jump through the screen and help you out So Baddddddddd at times….😅 but my parents most definitely rewarded me and my siblings for doing chores around the house when they could. After a while it just became a routine once we got older (the money stopped, of course). It definitely was an introduction to us all becoming adults and moving out on our own. A lil incentives never hurt anybody tho!
Hi lady Shyvonne, in the middle in the front of the yard you should get yourself as Spider plant that you can cut down at the end of the summer n it will regrow again in the spring try Hosta's hardy plant that will come back! Have a great wk!!❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤ You are doing a fantastic job Shyvonne! So nice to see the kids helping you with the yard work. I’ve been doing some landscaping myself with pavers and pea pebbles around the front of the house! My arms hurt for 2 days!!😫
Thanks, Shyvonne! You're an inspiration and are definitely moving me to get myself together physically & organizing and caring for my home!🏡 You're a wonderful example for your children and single women everywhere! God bless you!..💗⚒️🌳🌿☘️🌱🌲✨️
Just an FYI, when we were landscaping, we took a picture of our house and went to a garden center. We told them what direction our house faced and they recommended bushes and plants that would flourish . They drew out plans for us.
It didnt cost a thing and helped us so much!
Thanks for sharing that.
That's great you have helpers. They are doing a good job.
The best workout you can do, ❤❤❤
That was so nice of your son, coming forward to help, without you having to ask, how awesome is that 👍⭐️
It's so wonderful that you're telling your children the rules of life. Great 👍🏾
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing beautiful house

I really think $25 a week to travel to her home pull out the tools power up the tools and performing the act of mowing and trimming is a great price.
@@shaunguider8497 He wasn't showing up every week if you actually watch her video.
That is actually the going price inflation hit all services

Hello, Shyvonne ❤. Beautiful family teamwork. You’re on your way to a nice and neat landscape 🤗.
I have been doing my own lawn for ten years on a good cool day it's relaxing. ❤
❤️
Yard looks great
So glad to see the kids are helping out
Yes they can earn and save. That's a teachable moment. Picking up your room and clothes is allowance. Making cookies or some project is a reward. 😊
I give my kids allowance to motivate them it's been working real well you do a wonderful job with your kids girl forget about what them people say❤❤❤

Hi Shyvonne and love watching you guys doing your yard work and I can't wait to see how you do your yard ❤❤
Great job, myself and children do the same thing every spring summer ❤
Shyvonne you should have a grass company come and spray and fertilize your grass . It’s full of weeds . After one year you will notice a change .
You should watch basement makeover videos. Knowing your basement gets water, but floor paint with wall improvement, stylish outdoor rugs or outdoor furniture, could make your basement look the way you like the rest of your home. Just thinking of ways to get rid of your fear.

Great job Shyvonne...I love doing yard work❤❤❤
Really enjoyed this video ❤
I had to end up putting stones and stepping stones on our front area of house, because our grass would just burn even if we watered, we could never catch up. Even flowers would burn. So we just have a couple of small bushes, which need trimmed.
I think it looks great.👍⭐️
Yoooo the twins had me 😂😂😂😂
I love everything you do on here. You have a beautiful family. ❤
You did an amazing job mama. Life be life sometimes. Totally agree with you. Just wanted to say you’re doing an amazing job. Keep going💜
❤ yard work is hard and you guys did a great job in my opinion.
Great job! At 54 I cut and weed my own grass as well ❤
Wow! Ypur hedges look fantastic!
💖 i love when my kids help me too

Yes, having a nice cut grass just makes your house 🏠 look and feel so nice ❤
So nice to work all together ❤
Looking gorgeous ❤❤❤ love garden work 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Chillleeee , you doing an amazing job, you don’t have to explain yourself.🙌🏾 Big ups keep it coming I enjoy watching your videos..

Enjoyed the video today, Shyvonne. Gave me the motivation I needed to get outside in my yard and clean up and get it done❤❤😊
I have to do my yard too. I watched a lawn care video to learn how to do my lawn. I have learned how important fertilizer is for getting rid of weeds. Loving your video, yard looks good.
I too watch so many yards and patios videos 😮😅
Hey Shyvonne & family , I do my own yard work and keep the tree limbs away from the roof , you don’t want them to fall on your roof & damage the roof . Before removing hedges and trees Check with your city first ( permit ) have fun & be safe …
Great job. I understand living on a single income and I do what I can when I can. Be blessed.
❤❤❤❤❤get a lawn mower to do the final touches 💗Great team work❤ Shout out to all the kids❤
Good job. It would be quicker with a lawnmower. I use to use the weedeater but when I got the lawnmower. Man that made it easier 😂😂😂

❤ of course I made it to the end with you!
Hi Shyvonne good to See you, again great job on the yard, ❤️❤️
Yep you can keep up your own yard, and your kids are big enough to help. Especially lil Chris. You are teaching them right. ❤
