This is very interesting! Would be great to see how it compares to epoxy in terms of hardness and durability... Maybe an idea for a video? And do you think it could work for cutting boards?
Hey! yes you can use it for chopping boards. I can tell you as well that the glue is very hard and durable. It's not the same glue as hot glue guns, It's much tougher. In fact, in some mass production furniture factories, they use these glue sticks as adhesive for their furniture.
I saw this at mc too I think it’s really good and like the additional uses that you showed although I do think it’s a bit annoying that you can’t just remove the whole stick when you want to change colour as you never showed loading all those little pieces from the silicone mould back into the gun
I can see this being very useful for screw holes as plugs take a while to make. I would be a bit concerned about the durability given it's just hot glue.
Yeah it’s great for that. You don’t need to worry about the durability, it’s so much stronger that standard hot glue, in fact a lot of furniture factories use these glue sticks as adhesives
Interesting, do you think it would deform if say it was used on a table top and a cup of tea was put on it? Assume it dries harder than rubbery hot glue?
It does have a melting temperature, but it is way above a hot cup or bowl of anything you'd want to sit on a wooden table top or timber surface. It would have to be hot enough to leave a burn mark in the timber. Plus one would usually put a finish on top of the filler like.a lacquer etc. so it would have to burn through that first.
Yeah maybe, the crack need to be deep enough for the glue to grip onto. Also you won’t be able to use the flush cut blade, so it might be harder to flush off. But worth an experiment
Look nothing like your thumbnail
How do hide a knot?
i might try some as an inlay , wonder if they do metallic colours.
Yeah it makes inlays so much easier! I think there might be one metallic one
Very interesting!! DD
Is this stainable? Or paintable? Thanks for info

Thanks for watching Dave, those little sticks just load the same way as a longer ones, you just keep feeding them in.
Interesting uses! I use the black sticks and it is fantastic at filling pesky, unavoidable knots quickly.
Cheers Alex! Black is the better colour 👌

@@SeanEvelegh Good to know. Thanks!
Is this 110v or 220v? Do they offer it with a plug for US outlets?

I don’t think it will Chris, it’s very durable, dries very hard.

Could this be used to fill cracks when bowl turning to mask or create a feature ?

not sure if it is a trick if you have to buy a product
Nice product but why the click bait in the thumbnail, thumbs down for that
