2007 was the last year they the did the JATO "rocket ride" where they used jet assisted take off (jato) it was 8 bottle rockets four on each side and when they reached their take off speed they fired off the rockets and it would assist fat Albert climb faster... It honestly felt like you going straight up. It was an experience of a lifetime and I will never forget it

Actually 2009 was the last year they did Jato. I was stationed at Miramar Air Station and was allowed to ride on the 2nd to last Jato assisted take-offs. It was a blast!
