It is so strange how Americans have problems with understanding English in different accents. I understand any English speaker UK, US or anywhere else... unless they're Glaswegian.
This is from a sitcom Peter Kay’s Car Share. It’s about the two of them driving to work and back again and the conversations and incidents they have along the way.
😂 I'm from the UK so I know the meaning. All of this show is brilliant. Did you know that Peter Kay and his side kick went to college together and she was working in a call centre when he called her up and asked her to do this show with him. They are both brilliant, hilarious and it's a really romantic story too! If you get the chance, watch all the series. You'll love them.
This couple are simply brilliant. Their reactions to some of the dialogue is wonderful, and her laughter is contagious, you can telll that there is no false laughter in this clip......they just enjoy passing a great clip on to their friends.
As a previous comment has said this is part of a t.v. series - another good one from the series is when they both decide to taks a day off work and go to a Safari Park instead .
I’ve seen a few people react to this. Brits are usually familiar with the term, Americans not and its always fun to see them try catch in and try and work out exactly what it means.
From the sitcom 'Car Share' which was one of the two television sitcoms starring Peter Kay. The other show was 'Phoenix Nights'. Both are hilarious - as you would expect.
The source of this, a show called "Car Share" is absolutely wonderful - Take this scene, and just multiply it, such a joy. Peter and his co-star here (Sian Gibson) have such brilliant chemistry. Probably the best thing Kay has been involved with since Phoenix Nights. Difficult to find online but I spent a silly amount of money just to have it on DVD. (A lot of music involved that's difficult to license).
To give you some sort of an idea about the U.K. Peter Kay is from a district of Bolton in Lancashire, England,. Bolton is just 37 miles by road from Liverpool yet the accents are totally different.
Hi guys! This is one of my favourites from his series 'Car Share', based entirely on the conversations of two co-workers in a supermarket, on their journeys to and from work. The actress in this (Sian Gibson) has known Peter since they were students at the same University studying Performing Arts, so their chemistry is completely natural!
I have a few friends in Oklahoma who i have known for about 15 years , now as i am from Birmingham , I speak brummie , so when i have a chat with them i fall into my accent and they get so confused in what i am saying . I then have to restart with clear English which is fine so that they can understand , so then it gets a bit weird as then i have to think the best words to say to describe what i am talking about . My brummie accent is old school as i was born in the early sixties , so it is very noticeable as i use my top of my mouth and the nose to say the words and shortened words will be different . If you ever watch peaky blinders it s not like the deep culture of 1890s or early 1900s but i had family from that era who would speak to me with that accent and i obviously picked it up . I do speak english if i have too , but i am not keen on it as i say what i think . I listen to many american youtubers and spoke with many who do have some words specially down south , but with their own accent for example NAH means no which some south people say.
If you liked that (and now that you know what "dogging" is), you should check out "The Dogging Song" by Fascinating Aida... Absolutely hilarious, and really worth a watch!!!
Slightly going back to misheard lyrics, I was in Care as a kid and a slang word around in mid 70s was calling someone a dildo, anyway I was pulled to one side by staff to be informed of what it meant. Lol. Still makes me laugh.
Accents can be entertaining. I'm English and many years ago I was in Savannah buying a sandwich from a very pretty girl in a Subway, and she said ' I love your accents' I replied ' What accent, i speak the Queens English. You're the one with the accent '. She thought for a moment, laughed, and agreed.
First of all, Jess, your laugh makes me smile all the way through! You need to watch Peter Kay Car Share-John and Kayleigh kidnap a monkey. Honestly, it’s hilarious x
Several years ago at a big family party one of my uncles made exactly the same mistake. My aunt had to very quickly clarify. The entire table went quiet for a second or so, then the entire family burst out laughing except my uncle who sat there looking very confused.
One of the alll time great British comedy shows- it isn't a sketch. It's 12 episodes of 2 people travelling to work in a car. So quintessentially British and glorious.
Funny you comment on the Liverpool accent and theirs here . They are from Bolton which is only 40 miles from Liverpool. British accents change over such small distances.
I am from London but I understand the Scouse (& usually the Geordie too) accents quite easily!! And most American accents too (maybe not the Appalachian accents!!) I won't see you out dogging though!!!!!😊😅😂
Peter Kay had another series called Phoenix nights based in a North West social club. Please watch the family fun day episode and also his stand up sections called school reunions and weddings
I’m from Durham in north east England, out of all American reaction to British humour I’ve got to say you are the best and differently get us, I would say Peter Kay queen on shovel is brilliant 😂😂
U two should check out the outtakes when Reece Shearsmith "League of Gentlemen, Inside No:9" plays fellow shop worker "Stinky Ray" his attempts to rap in the back seat is hilarious!
My wife once tried ordering me a home massage, luckily she showed me the web page before booking the session. The highlight "she must be good for those prices" 😂
i hope you guys get this, i know you get so many comments, peter kay is a legend, what you should watch, it peter kay shovel guitar queen, i know you guys love your music, he combines comedy with music, it was part of his sets, you saw the lyrics and this one, i promise you, its a rock show like no other, with out spoling it, peter kay shovel guitar queen, look it up, pure genius
We will have to save this one for a later date. Right now we only have so much time to record per week. As our daughter gets older this will change. This would take up our full weeks worth of time for just one reaction unfortunately.
Jess you laughing ,Only starts me off laughing and iv;'e watched Car share more times than i can remember ,Still hiss myself ..You got to watch the outtakes of the series ,Trust me .Peter kay only has to giggle/laugh under his breath and i'm along with him 🤣''All of Stinky Rays outtakes '' please the both of you watch 🤣
This is taken from a comedy series called Car Share. With 2 series (seasons) and a one off special, it revolved for the most part, around 2 people sharing a car to and from work everyday. It shouldn't have worked, but it did. A lot of the time they were adlibbing. The chemistry of the characters was so good, you wanted them to end up together as an item, but sadly never did.
Peter is from Bolton Lancashire, the home of one of the biggest independent bakers in the UK. Peter has done two comedy adverts for Warburtons which are hilarious, and part of a series of comedy adverts starring The Muppets, Silvester Stallone, George Clooney, Robert De Nero, and the latest one starring Samuel L Jackson. The De Nero one used to be my favourite, but this new one has bumped it down to second. Of course they all, also star Johnathan Warburton, company CEO.
I am over my 60s , i never grew up with children that much but i was always been looked after by my grandfather and we do the garden cut the grass etc and he would tell me story's in brummie language , the old school accent which i picked up and obviously used , he was in ww1 so you will know from his young age how far he had the old school accent. When i was getting older they put me through a speech therapist due to my accent to speak with a proper English . I eventually progressed to it but i never forgot my accent and still use it and speak with people who do actually speak the real brummie accent . If i spoke to you you would not understand what i be saying but at least in English or American i can translate lol.
Just caught your reaction to 'Misheard Lyrics'.Great fun.Mike?Your friend from Liverpool is a Scouser.Peter Kay is from the Northwest of England, and so a Geordie.I'm from the East End of London, and I'm a Cockney. The 3 accents are as different as chalk, cheese and something else. But with repeated listening, you'll get it.Great reactions both time guys, keep it up!
Yes my scouser friend 😂. He introduced me to another friend who is from Wales. They sound so different. For years I thought they lived nations apart. Only recently found out they can visit each other in just a few hours.
They're from Lancashire or Yorkshire so I'm not completely sure of everything they're saying. But when you come over, just ask them to repeat and speak slower. But be careful about asking directions - and there's a lot of towns very similar names anyway.
peter, does not only do stand up, he has done this show, which is called car share, people sharing the car to work, hence they both in the car, he also has another series, phoenix nights, where he plays 2 parts, he plays the bar owner and the doorman, from that he done a spin off fron the doorman, max and paddy, they did 6 series, but each series was based on a popular 80's 90's series, like the A team in there own humour, it is on you tube, im not you have to react to it, but its worth a watch, when sitting on a night, nothing else on the TV
Try and see if you can catch up with Phoenix Nights where he plays two parts, one a wheelchair bound nightclub owner and the other a doorman /bouncer its the series that made him.

It's not a skit.
It’s a sitcom he wrote not a skit .
It is so strange how Americans have problems with understanding English in different accents.
I understand any English speaker UK, US or anywhere else...
unless they're Glaswegian.
As others have said its not a skit it was a series called car share try and find it to watch it all
This is from a sitcom Peter Kay’s Car Share. It’s about the two of them driving to work and back again and the conversations and incidents they have along the way.
And it’s genius
I love how you get all the nuances in the British sense of humour !!
You ought to see more of Peter Kay, he's hilarious!
😂 I'm from the UK so I know the meaning. All of this show is brilliant. Sian Gibson (the sidekick) was also in That Peter Kay Thing and Phoenix Nights.
It was called Dogging because when the police turned up and questioned anyone they would say the were out walking the dog ( and show a dog lead )
Now, how, how, do, you, know, that 🎉🎉🎉 😂😂😂
I thought it was called dogging because dogs will do it in public and don't care who's watching when they do.
@@raphaelperry8159
There's another idea that was better than my one
Thank god someone knows, everyone clueless.
How I heard it was that it's often happens in places known for walking dogs more than other places
This couple are simply brilliant. Their reactions to some of the dialogue is wonderful, and her laughter is contagious, you can telll that there is no false laughter in this clip......they just enjoy passing a great clip on to their friends.
Another great Peter Kay clip is "Singing Queen On A Shovel." I think you'll like it!
I want everyone to see that! Sheer genius, and what a great audience
As a previous comment has said this is part of a t.v. series - another good one from the series is when they both decide to taks a day off work and go to a Safari Park instead .
Monkey mayhem HaHa!
That's a brilliant episode.
Thank You for reacting to this, it was SUPER funny 😂
This one is hilarious. Her fave when she finally figures it out.
My cheeks hurt too, I needed that laugh this morning!
Good reaction to car sharing it was a fun series.
Peter Kays Car Share is one of the UK's funniest sitcoms , well worth watching .
It’s world class
The fact that you two research before watching videos makes your reactions so much better than the others.
Well done guys, great video as always.
Out takes from this series is priceless
If you want to try another Peter Kay try the one on his Car Share reel when he visits the Safari Park
Peter kay is brilliant
You 2 are so funny to watch doing comedy. I hope you do a little more

So many different accents around the UK...have seen this episode so many times of Car Share 😂😂😂🤣🤣
I’m originally from Manchester and even I have a hard time with the Liverpool accent 😊
This was such a crack up!! I’ve got a lot to catch up on 🤙
Hi this isn't a skit. it's a clip from his hit TV series 'Car Share'
Love car share. Very music based as well. 😊
This was part of a series that turned into a bittersweet romance. So good.
Love your reactions I’ve watched a lot of your videos now and Jess your face shows all your emotions
To give you some sort of an idea about the U.K. Peter Kay is from a district of Bolton in Lancashire, England,. Bolton is just 37 miles by road from Liverpool yet the accents are totally different.
It's a 10 minute bus r8de ride from where I live and the accent is completely different nevermind 30odd miles

Coincidentally the area which used to connect the UK to mainland Europe during the last ice age is known as Doggerland.
This is a great episode.
You need to watch the outtakes episodes.

Keeping a 'Dog out' is english slang for keeping a lookout for when accomplices are up to no good, ... so Dogging is just looking

Lancashire to say Yorkshire is a serious insult.
