    Before pandemic, Kalkan was known as “British Town” due to many people were coming from the UK and living in there. That’s why prices were adjusted to pounds. Kaş is more local, actually now it’s more popular and lost its purity.

    Those who come to Kaş or live in Kaş usually go to the amphitheater to watch the sunset. It is really a different pleasure to watch that magnificent sunset with a light drink. And as far as I can see, no one has ever told you about the "Sleeping Giant."
    "Sleeping Giant" is the name of a rock formation on the hills seen from Kaş. It was given this name by the locals because it looks like a giant lying on its side. In fact, you are unwittingly showing this rock formation in your video. It's seen at 11:10 - 16:58 or 18:37, even Naomi pointing directly at it at 17:05.^^

    Another very nice vlog, I like your genuine appreciation of the natural and cultural beauty in the region and your efforts to speak Turkish. Actually, your conclusion based on your quick observations is wrong, namely, Kas is famous for best diving in Türkiye and it's a tourist hot spot. However during the time of the day, as you were strolling around, the majority of tourists enjoy the all-inclusive life in the resorts and visit the merkez/marina area during the evening hours. On the other hand, the British people in Kalkan are not tourist but people who retired there and became residents of Kalkan. Hence, Kalkan is not a tourist destination, and that's one of the reasons why it is preferred by people looking for tranquility and natural beauty mixed with local life style.

    I plan on doing 23 days in Turkey. I'm curious, does the coastal parts of Turkey start to blend together? I'm worried places will started to get repetitive. Thoughts?
    I was thinking of doing like Istanbul -> Izmir Area ( Cesme) --> Rhodes ----> Fethiye --->Kas---->Alacanti

    • @TwoMadExplorers
      @TwoMadExplorers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The great thing about Turkey is that a lot of the cities along the coast are different!
      Try and go to Oludeniz, Kas, Fethiye and Izmir those 4 are totally unique ❤️

    Hi, The reason why the sea water is cold is the fact that there is a fresh water source under it and the underground waters coming from the mountains in many seas of Turkey flow up to the sea. Thank you for honoring our country. “Health for your feet” . Türkçe ; “Ayaklarınıza sağlık” 😊 ❤

    "The source is there, in that vast space formed by the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean, which is invaded, conquered, in which beliefs immediately take root. When people in Cleveland or Stockholm, Cracow or Kiev, think of Venice, Istanbul, Alexandria, Rome. orAthens , they no doubt awaken in them the urge to flee, to set out for the sunny beaches of a happy sea; but can't it also be thought of as the desire to return to those places that has been in their ears since childhood, where, consciously or unconsciously, even for a moment, to that main source, to that fertile land where the demigods lived their lives that are not as pale and brutish as ours? When we dream of a competent human being, when we feel the pride and happiness of being human, do we not always turn our eyes to the Mediterranean?"-Georges Duby
