Baha'i, The Religion of the Future | The South American Temple in Chile

  • A Baha'i friend told me once: Humanity is every time more connected in the physical world, the Baha'i faith is an attempt to be more connected in the spiritual world. Our mission is to unify the spirituality of humankind.
    In my many years of traveling the world, I'have met many Baha'i people and they always seem to be very open-minded. A couple of days ago I visited the Baha'i temple for Southamerica which is located in Chile, and decided to investigate more about the Baha'i faith, and the things I learned are very interesting.
    For starters, unlike other religions, to be a Baha'i you are not required to quit your previous religion. You are allowed to be Christian and Bahai, to be Jewish and Bahai, or Muslim and Bahai, etc.
    Inside their temples, you are welcome to pray in any way you feel like, as long as it’s respectful with everyone else.
    This means that there can be a Christian, a Buddhist, a Jew, and a Muslim praying together, each one to their own god.
    The reason for this is that for the Baha'i faith there is only one god, but they mean it quite literally, they believe that all the gods from other religions are the same one god that keeps revealing itself throughout history in different ways, and through different prophets like Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, etc.
    Talking with them I found that this idea of unifying humankind without trying to change people's beliefs but accepting e other it’s a good thing for society.
    Some of the Baha'i basic teachings that caught my attention:
    The unity of the human race.
    Integration of the different races.
    Equal rights and opportunities for men and women.
    Promoting education according to age.
    Promoting seeking of the truth through research
    Among other values that easily resonate with our modern lifestyle

    Well the problem is even if the Baha'i religion allows you to not quit your former religion, many of that former religions won't allow you to believe in another religion.
    And also for believing all the religions and the prophets are from the same God you have to not be aware of, or ignore the contradictions between those religions or you have to interpret them so metaphoricly that they doesn't contradict anymore.
    And with that kind of interpretation you would be barely able to call yourself believer of "a" religion and that interpretation also applies for teachings of Bahaism as well.
    In that case Pantheism, Panentheism, Deism or even Agnosticism works for you, you don't need Bahaism.

    • @AlansTheory
      @AlansTheory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But we can also learn to be flexible in order to get along and in order to share. it is definitely possible to learn from different religions what is useful but leave behind what you don't agree with, don't you think?

    • @Warprein
      @Warprein 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlansTheory Yes but in that case you don't really believe that those are the religions that sent by the God, instead you believe those religion consist of true and false informations/directions which also makes their sender faulty.

      @@Warprein The Essence of all religions - the universal principles - is One, just as the Heart round which all planets orbit is the Sun. When we begin from a place of unity, the path is much easier to distinguish between what is essential in all faiths and what has been added on or changed by priests, academics and theologians over the ages. There are various categories within Revelation. Social laws, for e.g. are relevant for a particular time in history or geographical, cultural location. So these change as society changes. The marriage of Evolution with the principle of the progressive revelation of Divine Teachings is "a thing".

    • @statedata70
      @statedata70 ปีที่แล้ว

      You really need the Baha'i because they also have messages to believe in things and to work for them. And when one discovers the true essence of all religions, one finds unity.

    Yea although the sentiment that people should be able to have religions without war is very good, and can easily be achieved, the notion that all beliefs in God is or will be the same is not true. Certain religions call for violence while other cause for less, or none. Im not going to name any, but if that's what the specific religion teaches and you go against this by having the notion that it doesn't teach it, then you go against the teaching of the religion. So I'm specifically talking about conflicts and the division part, certain religion actually call for violence whilst others do not and are more like people of the religion get dragged into violence.

  • @TheNomad2727

    I'm not religious but kind of weird how the centre bit of the ceiling has the word EVIL in it sort of disguised, pause the video at 2.03 to see what I mean. I think this religion will piss the Muslims off the most (what doesn't) as it says prophets will keep on coming (which they think is blasphemy ) AND you are putting their religion in with non Abrahamic ones... LOL good luck with that one!

    • @compatiblesystem
      @compatiblesystem ปีที่แล้ว +1

      God gave mankind fee will. Any "satanic" or "demonic" acts are responsibilities of the individual as that person is allowing his or her vehicle to be used against life, self harm, or against their fellow human beings with each action and choice. Each of us, individually choose to manifest either a heaven or hell on earth therefore, they are states of mind (and as as the other person replied), are metaphors for a person's own ego.

    • @vinivinivichy4549
      @vinivinivichy4549 ปีที่แล้ว

      @OnthisPlanetTogetherinthislife Then here is something to think about: in the Bible there are many accounts of demonic posessed people being freed of actual entities. WHY WOULD Jesus Christ find it neccessary to question the demon "what is your name?" then cast out Legion???
      Satan likes to hide behind inscrutability and pose as "ego" in order to deceive, kill, steal, and destroy. Evil is real and not a construct of human ego. Human ego is manipulated by Satan.

    Baha'i is an offshoot of twelver Shiaism which later emerged as an independent religion and their population is way much lesser than 7 million adherents.
