Oh yeah and I’m sure you guys call your USDM 92-95 hatches ‘EH’. Did you know the US never got an eg hatch? Being a chassis code cop would be exhausting and pedantic.
A 94 Civic Ex Cpe 5MT in Camellia Red Pearl was my 1st new car. I kept it for 24 years until I got into an accident and the insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. They said the repair cost was more than it was worth. If I had a place to store it, I would've bought it from the insurance company. I could've finally made it a project car. All it needed was a hood, bumper and core support, left headlight, washer fluid bottle, windshield and airbags. It had H&R springs with KYB adjustable shocks, Neuspeed front tower strut bar, Iceman cold air intake, Magnaflow catback exhaust, aftermarket wheels and sound system. I wanted to do a B18C5 ITR motor swap but every time I drove it and that VTEC kicked in, it made me smile. I couldn't justify pulling the motor. Plus it was still on the original clutch and transmission oil and it still shifted like new. With 155K miles on it, they wrote me a check for $2500.
PATIENCE is ALWAYS key when doing a Quality build like THIS! Thought my build was taking TOO long on my EG hatch of 5 years. (Because of ground up build) THIS guy of 10 years, makes me feel more hopeful on the build timespan.
Ive owned mine since 2012 and its been a project since my ef was down from 2012-2020 i got it running threw covid since they was making people stay home and i just need to paint it buy some wheels and call it quits 🤷♂️
Same here! I got the same color coupe as this guy, had the shell repainted the oem camelia red pearl and it’s been sitting as a shell for 3yrs now lol, have most of the engine put together but still missing a couple things, it’s full drag cartel k24/20 with 12:5.1 cp pistons high compression build std sized eagle rods, ac bearings, arp everything, dc 3.2 cams, ferrea flat valves, supertech springs, drag cartel heavy duty chain, drag cartel billet chain guides, drag cartel billet timing chain cover, drag cartel adjustable cam gears, drag cartel valve cover, moroso oil pan, Myers big tube header, drag cartel 67mm itb’s etc.. hoping to make over 300+whp n/a on e85…the car still needs front and rear fcs brakes and suspension, along with a fcs fuel system, might go with an awd rear end set up for future changes when I decide to go k-series turbo awd

So here I am searching for a 90s integra DA or DC2. All these guys you interviewed are inspiring, patient and all ended up building clean cars . My plan is just build something clean, keep it oem plus exterior nothing crazy with new modern bits interior wise for comfort.
I love Jon's build. Super clean, super simple. Interior definitely on point and my favorite part. Build's like this make me want to tone down my hatchback and give it a more simple look.
Super clean. The B series in general are definitely some of the most reliable engines in the world. Although having gone in to the domestic world now, that generation of JDM in particular will always be with me. 👍
As a owner of an eg sedan in this color it gives me some motivation to get it repainted. I love the color. I'm rocking an jdm gsr swap with ac and ps in mine.
as a fellow camellia red owner i get a lot of questions about the color and why i painted it that way, most of them are the surprised when i tell them its oem also this video doesn't help me go a more track focused direction 😂 kinda like the oem+ look more, keep it simple
Very clean I had an offer to buy a 2009 generation 8 SI and passed up because I have an EM1 and a EK hatch I prefer to drive the old ones I'm not worried about having a k series
@@mannyguerrero5312 I am old school lol 52 years old and been in the Honda game at least since I was 20 way before it ever got popular especially in the part of the country I live in I live in the Midwest where nobody did anything but big trucks and muscle cars
I’m an American guy when it comes to cars but my interest has been peaking with the civics due to how cheap they are to have fun with compared to things i can’t afford to drive right now. How much would a complete one like this go for?
California. The last American trove of clean 90s Civics. Credit the perfect storm of weather and culture for this. A vacation to anywhere from SD to Bay Area will blow your mind with the amount of clean older Hondas still doing work! Even more wild is the amount of mini trucks still doing ACTUAL work. Early 80s Toyotas and hard bodies and the occasional Ford LUV driving around with tools in the bed looking good enough for a photo shoot. It’s nuts. Cali is special.
@@chaseteter Can’t wait to go to Cali ⏳I’m in NYC with CD7 that it’s cool now but wanna finish and drive to Cali in a Carmeet season. Hopefully get a video interview 😅lol

Im glad you were okay from that accident.
Love the stance. So nice to see a Honda that isn’t tucking tires and has the classic lowered look. Great build and cherry Civic.
Man ive seen this build on IG for last 3 years so cool to finally see a video on it
THanks for tuning in man
As a paint and body guy myself, the guy who did your body work is AMAZING.

Would you believe that I said the bodywork was done in a family friends driveway and then he rolled it to a paint booth to spray it lol

The color is dope it looks purple but then it looks burgundy. I'm loving white wheels now they look nice.
I agree!!
FLAWLESS!!!! My first car 🫶🏽
Wow. This car is super clean. Massive respect to the owner 👏💯
How about them Civics 🎉
Clean build! I have a 94 Del Sol I'm trying to restore, this video helps give me some motivation!
You can do it!
Man clean build, i would swap out the dash panel for a black one it would make the interior pop that much more
I did actually you’ll see in the video that the interior magically changes from grey to black 😅. And I agree the black is much cleaner
One of the cleanest EJ1’s I’ve ever seen! 😍

We love your hatch the way it is 👍 but the clean and simple look reminds me of your old coupe Izzy
I knew it! At the beginning I saw a different seats and then he shows the Bride ones and I was like WTF? 🤣 He changes it! Lol!
Aw man this was my ride same color too nice I remember swapping the single vtec for a b18 then I couldn’t sleep at night 😂😂😂
Just inherited my dad's 93 coupe in this same colour. Hope I can get it this clean in few years.
Congrats man. Hope you keep it for the long run
I love John's car. Impeccable, tasteful, understated. Fine example of the 93-95 coupe. Been following on IG.
i had this EXACT CAR and color, exact engine too but i had a DRAG t3/t4 turbo... the memories!
Learned to drive on this car. And I am looking for another one asap for a fun project car. What’s cool understated/underrated ride.

Cup holder is sick! I have a kswap and I had to delete my cup holders due to my shifter cables coming thru to my Ktuned shifter
I had that same CIVIC with JDM engine and few more mods!

How long ago and for how much did it sell?
Good thing he didn't cheap out on tires. Continental extreme contact sport is perfect set of daily
