This song is actually really good, Tone, musicality, lyrics, even the mix is really good, I have no idea what you're talking about the mix being an issue lol.... this band is actually very 'proggy' this is just one of their ´softer´songs.
Surprised you guys never heard of Textures. They were one of the originators of modern progressive DM. I would advise you to dig a lil deeper into their catalog.
@graspop alcatraz Really their's a lot of good Dutch metal. We were the biggest death metal country in Europe outside of Sweden in the nineties. Not to mention our symphonic metal scene.
haha... can't argue with the reaction... that was 1 of 2 of their melodic songs... messenger is the other one... their prog sound is a signature you can never compared... they are one of the bands before djent became a genre... i love their first 3 albums Polars, Drawing Circles and the epic Silhouettes with singer Eric Kalsbeek...
Guys!!! If this is the first time you guys heard textures, this is showcasing Joechims vocals, young fella, you put cleans to your soul, anyway, just do lament of the icarus off sillouetts, no clean vocals really, just pat along, or if you want something epic... The album Drawing Circles, the rhythms 😜 I've been following you guys since the young lad was knee high to a grasshopper, basic child insults aren't good enough... I expected more of an annaylis then mockery.....
This wasn't a very good analysis. The vocals in this song are really emotionally driven, and that's what's great about it. They are prog as hell, even in this more poppy single. There's a part in 5/16, they change modalities, time signatures, feel, genre. I'm not sure what you guys think prog metal is if it's not Textures' single that sounds like Dream Theater.
I'm always glad to see more people listening to Textures
I see textures, I click
This is such an underrated band and song! I'm so glad you checked it out!
Great to see people reacting to Textures! The rest of their catalog is worth exploring.
True, my man
My favorite Textures song! Love the contrast.
This is a single, their songs are so much complex. I love this band... or this ex band
Not ex anymore. They're back!!

probably because they're using the music video audio, which is pretty damn compressed. the mix on streaming is 10x better

Brilliant song brilliant album
At least you got the WTF moment 😄
React to their song Shaping a Single Grain of Sand. It's with a different singer and i Think you guys like this one more
They're dutch, my fellow countrymen.

Did NOT see that coming.

Totally agreed.
Yeah pretty terrible analysis. 😅
I loved this band .. really sucks they disbanded
Even the video has the creed early 2000s aesthetic..eehh I liked it but it's a style I'm not listening anymore, basically.. they didn't get me.
Mmm bad song for a metalhead to start with Textures
dont like the pop ^^
