Hi Cherry! I just found out your channel. Your videos are interesting. As a beginner to Chinese, I can say that I enjoy your talk. Clear and can be well understood though I also read subtitle as my vocab is in the beginner level. As for tones, I find it difficult and interesting. Some teachers strongly emphasize the tones. I do agree that tones are important, but how to use it to speak is difficult for beginner. If we focus too much, we may end up speaking each word tone like in your videos. For learners, it is difficult to know the range of tone. It may be very high for the first tone, and so low for the third tone, yet it will be exceedingly difficult to be spoken yet will sound unnatural.
I think there could also be one more reason for men, is that naturally asian voices have higher pitch, especially taking in mind that most teachers are females and when we learn languages we naturally try to copy speach of teachers and people surrounding us. And if your natural voice is low, you just can't pronounce exactly same and sound unnatural when trying. Maybe the solution would be finding some Chinese man speaker who has low voice and copying his tones.
Well. Maybe this is one of the reasons. actually tone is a relative thing. So if the “distance ”(I don’t know how to say) between tones is correct, then no matter your scale starts from where, it’s correct tone. Yea many teacher might don’t realize it. Students can let the teacher know this.

Your voice, speed and rythm are so pleasant to hear. Not too slow, not too fast, just perfect IMHO. Thanks a lot for these tips!

谢谢你啊!声调确实是一个很大的问题,我们也在想什么方法可以最好地教学生,声调在中文里非常重要,一样的拼音,不一样的声调,意思就完全不一样了。你说的range of tone是一个很有意思的点,我跟小马老师会想想!谢谢你
非常感谢老师
我在自己学中文,老师的视频帮我很多。感谢老师。
不客气,加油啦
Another amazingly helpful video. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

我也最近找到了你的TH-cam频道,非常好老师!每个视频我看特别意思 ❤ 你帮我学习汉语 感谢感谢

Thank you so much. Jus found your channel, subscribed . Keep up the great work!
不客气,加油加油!
我现在觉得老外中文说不好的关键还是听得不够多,所以自然就说不好了。老师要是有兴趣的话,我建议去看看Dreaming Spanish的一篇blog ”Two Kinds of Foreign Accents”.
