As for the noise you could get a directional mike or one that has the mike that sits on your neck or my favorite would be to get a hover-craft and float on the air!! You're doing well on what you've done and practice makes perfect. A 289 was fords 2nd series in a smallblock that included 260, 289, 302, 351w.
