Very nice build! Gladiator's Bane could make an interesting armor choice. In combination with a CoA. And then Trang's gloves+another FCR ring you'd still hit the 37%FCR breakpoint, while having more DR% and integer DR/MDR, along with the poison length reduction from GladBane. You'd be able to swap your boots for some rare/caster craft boots with +mana/resists. And you'd need a CTA for Battle Command for hit +5 Zeal. OR, put two Sojs on and a 2/17+ craft amulet for another 37% FCR option. I'm not sure what I've written would be better...just another gear option to try out. edit: And then there is the hypothetical safety craft shield with 10% MDR and Deflecting/Prismatic/2sockets...and I dunno, FHR or Life or damage to mana%? Time to start crafting ;) edit2: Heck if you dropped a cham into the CoA you could use an ebugged Prudence and focus a bit more on +defense to improve survivability as well.

@@kruggers1329 It's true, it could one of those gear swaps that is fun to theorycraft but doesn't end up with significantly improved DPS or survivability. As for IAS, you'd have to use both CoA sockets for jewels of Fervor, as well as one for GladBane. Another nice benefit from GBane+CoA is hitting higher FHR breakpoints easier. I think one of the big problems with my hypothetical setup is the fact that level 5 zeal is attained through BC...which will certainly become annoying. Not as bad as going from level 9 double swing to level 8 at an opportune moment and not being able to use double swing against mana burn packs, but still annoying. Not to mention the huge strength requirement on CoA. I think you'd have to find a 15@res/-15req jewel for the CoA as well as a couple ridiculous fcr/str rings, as well as +str/mana boots. All for...potentially insignificant improvements lol. I think you've found a really good build setup, attainable without super difficult to source items like the jewels/rings I mentioned. Makes me wish I hadn't deleted my old gomule stashes...as it is I'm already planning to start mfing again just to put a poor-man's version of this together. So on that, you certainly succeeded with making a nice vid! 🤙
@@Primifluous haha yeah i'm actually quite proud of this build. A single player enchantress is kind of rough and this took a lot of time to work out actually lol. Even though I ended up with very simple gear, there were many many possible options that I had to cycle through before landing on this, a lot of tradeoffs to handle because the build has so many weak spots. And of course it's still not that good! lol. But actually if I ever do go ahead and make a ES staff CTA I think the build would improve by a lot.

I just don't have Gerke's/Shako/Maras at the moment or else I would've made a carbon copy of your build. And, the verdict is...super fun! My gear setup isn't quite as well put together as yours (250 life, 800 mana) so I'm sticking to places w/o Fire immunes, but the concept works. And I decided to max out Frozen armor instead of putting points into Blizz since I have G-Bane, Andy's, and Upped Moser's which makes my defense hit ~5k. But I can tell, just when killing Fallen in Act I, that I'd want Blizz on backup to help deal with Fire immunes. I'm stoked on the build, it reminds me of my old WW/Trap hybrid I put together. Swordmage type characters have always been my favorite. edit: An interesting thing about the life leech on Andy's...because of all of the damage reduction and ES and block% and defense rating, even the relatively small amount life leeched is surprisingly useful. Might be worth it to try using a fcr ring with big life leech if you can find one.

Nice revamp! Yeah, Nightsmoke protects you from mana burn since it will give 50% of the damage you received to your mana and it applies this after mana burn, so that is why you don't end up with an empty mana pool I think. Good choice! Although I still dislike Energy Shield and I rather go for dr and high health. The second Baal wave is a pain no matter what it seems. The poison aura from Achmel is just too strong and you can't kill the bastard fast enough without taking massive damage because Baal Decreps you. Too bad you say you wont make too many vids from now on. I actually like the way put your ideas on the table when you kinda ramble around unscripted while you play! :)

@@kruggers1329 There is another thing about Zeal that I really do not like with this sorc(but I am not sure if this is a bug or just Zeal being Zeal), other than the low physical dmg: Hard hitting enemies can actually kill you during the Zeal animation. Even if you Zeal fast, that five hit one after the other is kinda slow and since it is uninterruptable(I am not sure that this is a bug or just the of the Zeal being uninterruptable by you too) you can't Teleport away from your enemies while they are hitting you. Especially when you go against Hell Lords with their Frenzy(especially if they have Mana Burn), or when you are trying to kill melee enemies with Zeal and archers from the back start showering you with arrows. Either you pop a rejuv if you have one or you die. But maybe that was just my experience. Did you experience anything like this during your playthrough?
@@AKisHerceg Yeah I've found this occasionally annoying, particularly with hard enemies like hell lords and 5th wave baal, but I don't think it's ever really caused my char to die. So on balance I prefer the uninterruptible aspect of zeal

Nice video! If you end up experimenting with full health build, that would open up some room for crushing blow, which could be helpful for fire immunes. Maybe IK gloves/belt to keep IAS and resists up, then switch out boots for Goblin Toes. If health and +skills are still high enough, a Gface on the post-buff could even work. Just my two cents there. Good luck in law school, hope to see some more builds down the line.
mm Yeah it's a good thought. I did start this build way back when as full life and switched to this for various reasons I can't recall, maybe I just didn't get the combo right. I think basically you would need stormshield for the dr, and then that necessity kicks off a series of changes
I think you can actually combine an ES and DTGTM melee sorc with crushing blow. That is exactly what I will try out once I find the time. I'll try it with kingslayer to have a broader mix of damage types and 33% crushing blow.
One of the coolest builds I've seen. You have strayed away from the typical min-max and did something much more nuanced. There's bigger pride in making builds that work im vanilla SP D2 (which is also what play) And your videos are kool and the gang cool. Good luck at law school!

I did consider that yeah, and I used those for a time while leveling up the character. In the end though I went for the skills (dmg) + resistance from mara's, and I needed at least 1 rav for a cbf, and I wanted the 10 fcr from the other ring, so that's how I figured things. Plus, I think I have enough AR right now. But certainly that'd be a viable option depending on your other gear--mad AR, good life bonus, and I think the ammy has DTGM...
@@kruggers1329 Yeah that's fair to be honest, since you're obviously not playing with Ladder runewords it's really interesting to see your own take on the builds. If I were to do something like this I would probably use a lidless + enchant/ES orb (preferably with fcr too, oculus could work) on switch and use that for teleporting around, that would also give you the choice of freeing up certain slots such as your ring slot and possibly amulet as well if you can compensate on the resistances. Highlords wrath for example could be a nice choice, would go well with gores + Guillaumes helm if you wanted to try a more flat damage build so damage isn't so elemental-sided.
