HC solo, self-found melee builds are some of the most fun playthroughs for sure. The moment you find a headstriker or razors edge is glorious. I even beat hc singleplayer with an untwinked fend zon pre 2.4. Decoy was my most important skill :)
I'm glad for the lighter touch too, if they did what the majority want, we'd just have path of exile tier screen nukes on every skill. If anything I wish they'd be willing to nerf a couple things.
Yeah. Llama had a bit about this on a recent video... everyone seems to compare other builds to hdin/blizz sorc/javazon and wants everything buffed to be at that level. But maybe those builds ought to be nerfed a little bit. Definitely part of the game is feeling your character get strong, and it is kinda fun to explode the screen. But once I get a character to that point, I stop. I mean, do we want the game to be so easy? Is that fun?
Kruggers, I have an important question I have been wanting to ask you for a long while. It's been burning in the back of my mind for many moons; Where do you get your ideas from?
Haha thanks for the vid, was nice to hear your opinion. I agree on mercs and obsession. People put up an argument that +3 +3 +3 staff would beat hoto etc, but they don't realize that a chance to find such staff is 1:69mil or so. As for class changes, I second your thought process. Ive seen a lot of comments where people were unhappy with MA sin because it's weaker than traps. Well but you can now happily playthrough with it, and then with some gear start even farming p1 decently. Same with many other builds(although double throw and leap barb still terrible to play :P). I mentioned it once, but I believe all the balance changes should go through a prism of different activities in the game, e.g. Playthrough, magic finding, rune finding(p8), pvp, ubers; and then see which classes are lacking representation in some of those. Also, does every class have to be able to compete in each area? That's a hard question, I tend to say yes if you have a special flavor/mechanic to it, otherwise it may turn into d3 scenario where every build can do everything and the difference is only in which order you press 4 buttons. As for the rabies - I think actually the witch doctor skill Locust Swarm is something that would be cool to see(has a chance to bounce to another enemy, and jumps at quarter screen or so) Cheers man and hope to see you playing soon 😉
Agreed--good thoughts about balancing for game activities. I agree that every class ought to have several builds that can do some of those things well. For example, no one complains about smiter being unable to efficiently clear hell chaos or cows, b/c smiter is absolute top tier uber killer. I also think that "being able to beat the game without incredibly good gear" is a game activity in itself. As long as it's fun to play, I have no complaints. But not every build is about magic finding. I like the rabies idea too. Maybe a bigger jump but with only a % chance is a good mechanic.
lol I guess i could be fairly accused of overstating my case there. Personally, I would rather make a BOTD or throw zod in some cool eth wep/armor. In the single player context, and particularly for magic finding, I don't see obsession being realistic. It barely if at all beats hoto/spirit, which you'll get 10x over before you find a zod. Also, I don't think the whole point of the game is magic finding, even in single player where there is no option to duel.
@@kruggers1329 Yeah I mean I agree that zod is really hard to come by in SSF (solo self found). I had played SP for a good 10k-20k hours or so (maybe even 30k, I havent kept track) and I haven't found one. And I mean with magic funding compared to other gameplay like baal and other areas, I mean I think it's kind of subjective what the point of the game is, but I totally see how you have fun playing the game the way you do. If you consider it also, I think even if one gets a zod in SP, I think obsession isn't really that much better than hoto/cta, it's just a matter of finding the thing (and I mean, finding a base wouldn't be easy either, since you would want, or at least I would want, it to be a +3 blizzard base). So yeah there are some considerations to make and I think I mostly agree with you.
We await the day kruggers blesses us with some more uploads

good video, always good to see things through the Kruggers Lens
Comment for algorithm boost. Gotta help the D2 Single Player God anyway you can.
Kruggers, the people want to know, what does an ideal Kruggers day look like?

Kruggers with the hot take 🔥 finally a voice of reason I can follow
well said
ay man how's it hangin'?
Not bad, not bad
how u keep ur merc acrunk?
He crunks himself, so he is always well acrunked.
Btw dueling in bnet D2 LOD. Sucks cuz a bit user can destroy u easily. So I stopped doing this I only pvm.
Why would that make someone a moron to make obsession in SP? Botd is not good for farming any items in particular.
