    Does this kvm switch have kvm over ip? And does it have EDID passthrough if it doesn't? I need to remotely connect to my kvm switch if possible. Whether it be through a pikvm or through this kvm switch. Can't find much information about it on the manufacturers website...

    Looking into these as i currently just have a basic ugreen switch, so no monitors through it just usb devices. The issue I have is my usb mic if i have it through the switcher suddenly starts squeaking and makes me sound like a chipmunk. My. keyboard also repeats keys (only on windows) when through the switcher.

    This is perfect for my work from home setup. Question tho when u had your work laptop on monitors 1 and 2 and the podcast on monitor 3 were you still able to move the mouse over to monitor 3 and turn it onn and off and interact with your gaming pc while the two other screens had your work laptop on?

    • @PCTechHustle
      @PCTechHustle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can only control one PC at a time. But with the programmed buttons you can switch the usb control to the other PC with the podcast on if you wanted to just control that one monitor and PC. I found it easy to just push the main control button back to whatever PC I needed to do something in real quick.

    Does it have EDID? I've heard you need that if you don't want the two PCs to think you disconnected the display while switching, as some apps can have a problem with that, also resolution/scaling adjustments could be annoying.

    Thank you, I had looked at this but didn't go with it and I am glad I didn't. My setup is a bit more involved and ultimately I think better suited how I work. First I have a gaming rig, a work laptop, a personnel laptop and an Xbox all on 5 monitors. 2 Monitors are used just for my work laptop so they are plugged in directly, so really I needed only 3 monitors on KVM. I use four separate KVMs one for each monitor and another for just the Keyboard/mouse . This helps because I don't switch monitors that I don't need. In your example you have one that is dedicated to your game rig and end up having to change and then re-change just that one (As a helpful hint I have a separate mouse on my desk that only connects to my game rig so that during work I'm not changing everything over just to skip a song). For my purposes, I just change the ones I need. Not listing to music then one button and one more screen for work. Weekend but monitoring work servers while they change over a switch, I can change my keyboard over without losing my screens (3 screens for servers, 1 for the Xbox and 1 for email and texting). As an added bonus, all those KVM also have USB for custom keypads and mice.

    • @PCTechHustle
      @PCTechHustle  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ll be perfectly honest with you. It does “okay”. Sometimes I have a monitor loose connectivity which results in me have to unplug / plug back in the monitor on the back of the KVM to get it to work. I’ve also had a couple freeze up periods where it just randomly refused to work. I may do a follow up video / swap to another product but I can’t 100% get behind this product.

      @@PCTechHustle thanks for the response! I might just go with a standard 3 output docking station and switch the usbc between my two laptops. • @PCTechHustle
      @PCTechHustle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That would only work if I had enough display and usb ports in the actual laptop itself. Most laptops don’t come with much these days. For example my laptop only has one hdmi and a couple usb type a ports. So the docking station allows for expansion of those ports and I plug them into the KVM so I can easily switch between the two.

So with the example you showed with the laptop on screens 1 und 2 and laptop on screen 3 you cant just go over with the mouse from screen 2 to screen the and control your desktop all of a sudden, right?
