Yes, we shouldn't judge people by their skin color, facial features, hair style, disabilities, clothes, etc. But I have no trouble judging people by the racist tattoos they've adorned their bodies with. These are choices that people make to express who they really are inside.

That's whe he realized he had been totally written off from her life and would never see her again. Just heartbreaking.
I know it's but what most people would do, but I think they owe it to her to admit it in front of her family so they all know and understand the woman they have come to love. Just like a relationship, if they've done it once they can do it again. Those are your half brothers and sisters. Give them a heads up... But I know I'm talking like it's easy. @@SuicideRedemption I am so saddened to hear that. For whatever it is worth, most birth mothers didn't want to give up their children. I thought it was kind of happy. He has closure and can move on with his life now. Sometimes someone telling you everything will be alright is all you need.
Pain would certainly be there but maybe...just maybe, at times, see it other way round that 'they' who left you were not capable enough to have you, to keep you right. Paul, I am sure that your mother wanted you. Most birth mothers were forced to accept relinquishment due to dire circumstance in their life at the time of their pregnancy. Most of them never forget their lost children and dream of a reunion for years and years.
That's not always the case, your birth mum probably really wanted you but for reasons, most likely financial she had no choice. Perhaps she was a drug addict and knew she wouldn't raise you right, so adopted you out, in those cases it shows that she loved you so much and did what was best for you even if it killed her inside.
Unfortunately, I've watched enough reunion videos where this is more common than people might think. The people are expecting this beautiful, emotional reunion but the birth family wants nothing to do with them or they have a very unemotional hug, like "I'm supposed to hug you but I could really care less."

Yeah, life is not so kind. I always dreamt about my father. One day, after 17 years of separation, I dreamt of him contacting me. Turns out in real life, he contacted my older brother in facebook. Despite my bro giving him my profile, he still didn't bother chatting with me. :(

Throughout my lifetime it`s been friends and strangers who have helped me more than family members. It`s not true that blood is thicker than water. Also this proves, we can`t always judge people by their appearances, kindness and compassion can come from the unexpected.
Omeleto this showed love comes from a stranger and not your loved ones....made me emotional. Good the boy met and his mother to understand reality. This will make him tough and also sensitive .... he had to learn from the hardest way. The boy and the stranger both did a good job. It also teaches one that we cannot judge a person by his or her looks.
I guess I missed a lot because I couldn't hear half of what the man said, and couldn't understand the other half of what he said. After reading the description, I guess that was important.
Watched with no headphones. Heard everything perfectly. They’ve got aussie accents. Not difficult to understand. I’ve been used to lots of accents for a long time cause i have fun trying to repeat them. So i had no trouble with the accent either. I guess that’s what got you. Other than that, the audio was ok.
This story reminded me of my step mom’s son who tried to find her when he was teenager or something after she divorced when he was only elementary school. According to her story, her ex husband and ex husband’s mother took her son away from her and she had no choice to left him forcedly by them. Before she passed away of cancer, we thought that we should tell her son before it’s too late but her niece told us that her son passed away already before she did. They could meet finally in heaven. We were lucky to be raised by her. Her son couldn’t be with her, even if he wanted to be with her. I know this is a movie but maybe his mother didn’t want to leave him but had no choice like my step mom.
When the man inside asked Heather if she wanted tea my heart fell, I felt sick but somehow I knew that there was something redemptive happening and it had something to do with the dark man...he was the good in the story...
**I have come back to this little film that I first watched roughly a year ago, I had forgotten how gut-wrenching it was and how intensely human and authentic it's characters felt to me: The boy seemed so untethered from the world, so friendless and vulnerable and the driver seemed almost resigned to the world, rough and formidable in appearance but simple and honest. The part, of course, that hit like a brick in the face was the question regarding tea that came from inside the house and the steady and determined closing of the door that brought the scene to it's conclusion and led directly into an aerial view of the kid plodding down the road, far enough away to make the boy appear isolated and relentlessly alone, again and perhaps feeling even more diminished by his experience. I'm grateful that the writer allowed us to hover nearby, watching as the drama played itself out and hope materialized out of despair, as it often does, a truth that had clearly served the dark-man well in his life and the gift he left with the kid...beautiful. See you in a year if we're still here.
I'm an adoptive parent myself. The mother was young. She moved on in life. The boy ambushed her. Things could have been done differently by both. Still a sad situation.
THE BOY AMBUSHED HER??? Are you quite alright? He is her SON. Omg. I cant believe how sick some people are.. he had every right to seek her out. She had ZERO RIGHT to deny him on the other hand.
I hope you realize how rare it is for a birth mother to simply move on. Most of them want an open adoption and if they cannot have it then they want a reunion some day.
Sometimes, in life, you can find more kindness from complete strangers than those who are supposed to love you!

All the people bragging they knew right from the accent it was in New Zealand while 0:05...
One of the best kiwi shorts I have seen in a long time, the driver is a regular in NZ film and tv, awesome actor. Actually a nice shot of Huntly Power Station at the end and other parts of the Waikato. Awesome film !!
I thought I recognized the area. This is in my hometown haha
This guy sounds just like the rock dude from Thor ragnorock and avengers endgame
Brian_ S.04 korg
Well Taika voiced korg and he was from New Zealand as well so maybe the accent was why they sound similar
Mother :Shuts the door in her own son's face who drove miles to see her.
Stranger:You'r gonna be alright boy❤️
I feel bad for that kid 😢
So do I
It happens in real life all the time.
Happened to me as well. But I didnt hitchhike I used uber to get there only to be told i was never wanted
My uber driver back was extremely kind however and tried to make me feel better
1:33 It was at this moment that he realized that he f***ed up.
Sometimes a good person you meet is covered in tattoos
I don’t know why, but the driver seemed so believable and genuine I want to know his story. Not the character. The actor.
Calvin Tuteao is a New Zealand actor who has appeared in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Once Were Warriors and Xena: Warrior Princess. Tuteao is renowned for his role on Shortland Street as Dr. Victor Kahu. He and his niece Quantrelle King both acted in Shortland Street and also played an uncle and niece relationship.[1] He plays the Bass Guitar.[2]
Yeah, life is not so kind. I always dreamt about my father. One day, after 17 years of separation, I dreamt of him contacting me. Turns out in real life, he contacted my older brother in facebook. Despite my bro giving him my profile, he still didn't bother chatting with me. :(
Ram Ram
So sorry. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S HIS!
I'm sorry that's horrible of him , Jude Lewis is right it's not your fault I hope you feel better
Sometimes you just wanna be kind and someone just loves you and kisses you
I knew it thus was filmed in New Zealand I can tell by the drivers accent "Aye Boy..."
my mom died 5 monthes ago i miss her so mutch im 14 we did not get along my parents are devorced she got cancer remember your mom can leave u fast so appreciat her
"You be alright boy" most comforting words ever ugh
The actors are both absolutely great. The teenager actor is so convincing, I can't imagine that his character is a fictitious person.
Its like real life, but there is life after a non-happy ending.
Society accepts their own kind and rejects the ones who they fear
I would love to see a movie where there’s two NZ guys that partner up both young and old to do crime things!
Why
watch once were warriors and what becomes of the broken hearted and crooked earth good New Zealand movies once were warriors abit violent
Throughout my lifetime it`s been friends and strangers who have helped me more than family members.
It`s not true that blood is thicker than water.
Also this proves, we can`t always judge people by their appearances, kindness and compassion can come from the unexpected.
👊 The gangster man looked really badass and was a very good actor on his role.
I want to see more of him
He is a well know New Zealand actor named Calvin Tuteao. Just google him and you get a list of his work
I was waiting for the guy who gave him the lift to do something really terrible. I'm glad he didn't. But his own mother did. Thanks!
Wait wtf that was his mother lying
Yeah man smh
because she wants nothing to do with him?? 😂😂 she put him up for adoption for a reason lmao
It's also a fabulous example of an adult looking out for other people. I only get to do things like that on *really, really good* days.
“Get in the car loser we’re going shopping.”
So the nice guy driving around to help the boy. Both good acting.
I guess I missed a lot because I couldn't hear half of what the man said, and couldn't understand the other half of what he said. After reading the description, I guess that was important.
There was not much I think you got it.
Yeah. There wasn't much. If you've gotten what happened exactly then that's pretty much enough.
Wear headphones
Tyler Serafin Must be because of quality of sounds in this video. Headphone wearers will not feel any issues but those listening normally might.
Excellent story - very well told - quietly powerful!
Why does the driver sound like Jimi Jackson!? 😂
Really hit a nerve with me this one, brilliantly made and executed. Bravo
It's me or the person in the car looks like Trevor
I think everyone
I enjoyed this big heaps .very real and very well-made . Thank you 🦋
She left him. What was he thinking, that she will welcome him in with the smile and tears of joy?
When mother and father forsake you, then the Lord with take you accept you, and love you as you.
Amazing short film, loved it.
Lol this guy is the most convenient taxi driver
Probably the best I’ve seen so far. Used script to tell a story. An essential ingredients many other films both short and long lack.
That drivers sounds like korg from Guardians of the galaxy
Actually he was from Thor: Ragnarok
"Is your name Heather?"
"No."
"Heather, want a cup of tea?"
"Shiiiiiiiiii-"
Finally!!! A short film from NZ. Still doesn't beat 'Boy' EWSHHH THIS IS MEANNNN | CHUR TO MY KIWIS
When the man inside asked Heather if she wanted tea my heart fell, I felt sick but somehow I knew that there was something redemptive happening and it had something to do with the dark man...he was the good in the story...
She doesn't want me! Poor soul 😢
@@waynemyers2469 Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I'm an adoptive parent myself.
Rejected twice by his mother? I know she said she wasn’t Heather, but her reaction after seems like there is more to the story.
Aaron: "Is your name Heather?"
Heather: "No!"
Aaron: "She didn't want me."
Maka: "You'll be alright, boy."
Great film!
*Tough Love is Neither.*
He talks like Korg from Thor: Ragnarok
OMG. So powerful. So well acted. So well written. Bravo! Should be required viewing in HS Health classes.
