      There's an error in your transcript. Correct transcript should be:
      5:08 "yeah we're gonna stop here real quick, I'm gonna get in the left seat and then taxi to lima 23"
      It sounds like maybe only the left seat can control front wheel steering?

      @@nonconsensualopinion What happens during a Solar Storm event that disables most electronics on the airplane? (Which has happened to me) I had to hand fly a straight ASR approach in a CRJ200 into Denver. No GPS No autopilot. First Officer To Control (who's had too much coffee and has become Institutionalized/lackadaisical in his calls to the point of being dangerous) - " We don't need paramedics,,". That's where he/they dropped the ball right after landing. They/He should have made them screech to a halt on 28C and requested immediate paramedics rolling,,ASAP!!!. I'm sure that captains family and the company they fly for would have appreciated a little bit more HUMAN attention, that what was given by the First Officer.

    I was thinking if one of the flight attendants asked the passengers if a doctor was on board like the old movie cliche. But are the attendants or someone able to open the door to the cockpit for such an emergency? And then, would they have time to help the pilot at that stage of flight, or get him out of the seat to do CPR without hitting or disturbing the controls?

      Something tells me flight attendants cant open the door, or else a terrorist with a knife could easily persuade them to do so. There's also an airline rule that there always has to be two people in the cockpit; if one pilot goes to the bathroom they bring in a flight attendant.

    This is so sad. People will say things like "at least he died doing what he loved" and stuff like that. I'm sure the last thing a professional airline pilot would want was to die on takeoff and put the aircraft and its passengers and crew at risk. A couple of days ago I watched a video from Petter at Menour Now where he got quite agitated about the move to a single pilot flight deck. This story and many others show why this is a bad idea. The manufacturers, regulators and airlines are all for triple or quadruple redundancies in the mechanical and software systems but I am totally mind blown that any of them would consider a flight control model that has one point of failure - a single human responsible for hundreds of lives. Would never fly on a plane with a single pilot so I guess that means driving, in which case I get to share the road with "self driving" cars and semis thanks to Elon and his ilk. Seriously, it's soon not going to be safe to get out of bed if these "visionaries" get their way.

    • @julianbrelsford
      @julianbrelsford ปีที่แล้ว

      It's already possible to remotely pilot an aircraft, or to use software to have an airplane fly (takeoff to landing) without human input.
      So I think it's a huge exaggeration to say that a single pilot will be a single point of failure.
      The most important part of the job of pilots is to be able to respond to emergencies, and a single pilot, WHEN supported by remote pilots AND appropriate computer systems that can handle 100% of the routine tasks, could be an appropriate solution in the future.

    I have no knowledge of how to fly an airplane. But in a case like this with one person trying to fly and navigate and do everything, the air traffic control system makes it more difficult for that one person by having him switch to Departure and then switch to Approach and then switch to Tower and then presumably switch to Ground. In the case of an emergency like this wouldn't it be possible to keep the pilot on one frequency and talking to one person throughout in order to alleviate some of the workload?

    Prayer for the Holy Souls in
    Purgatory Lord God, maker of Heaven and Earth, I place myself here before You and contemplate Your mercies, especially that You are willing to receive us into Your glory, even if we still have some guilt on us that, for now, makes this union impossible. Lord, have mercy on the dead, and after the necessary period of purification, give them a place in that refreshing coolness. light, and peace that they have always desired.
    Amen.
    Prayer for Our Rest in Jesus
    Jesus, my way, truth, and life, I cannot thank You enough for the offer of redemption You gave us in the sacrifice of the cross and Your sweet presence here on Earth, for they are far beyond what we deserve. But most of all I thank You for being that key which opens Heaven for us. You said that when You are lifted up from Earth, You will draw all of us to Yourself. Therefore, let me in this life cleave to Your sacramental presence, the promise of future glory. Never let me separate myself from You, so that I may one day see You face to face with the Father and the Holy Spirit and sing Your praises forever. Amen. Prayer for Someone Dear My God, who through the pouring out of the Holy Spirit taught us about true charity, have mercy on my deceased friend (here, name the person or persons). As I took pleasure in their company here on Earth, I now beseech You to give them heavenly graces and blessings so that they, now resting from their labors, may see You, and that I may one day regain their friendship in Heaven. I offer these prayers to Your Divine Majesty so that they may obtain remission of their sins and purification. Saint Lazarus of Bethany, friend and companion of Jesus, please pray for my deceased friends. Amen.
    Prayer for Someone No One Prays for Lord Jesus, Word Incarnate, who shared our human nature and became like us in everything but sin, I ask You to pardon those that do not have any intercessors. You were lonely in the Garden of Gethsemane before Your death, and in another place, You told us that the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.
    Because You shared our sufferings, I dare to ask You to help those most helpless and most in need of Your (Mercy. Amen) may be the last part of it. And because this possibility exists, Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance if you want the vaccine. Please look up on DuckDuckGo the laws regarding vaccine mandates. You can’t force someone to get an experimental vaccine. The FDA never approved the Pfizer one, they just extended the EUA I’ve heard, that in all 12 pages of it they NEVER mentioned they approved it, just extended the EUA. People have like a 99% chance of survival and people 0-19 have like a 99.997% according to the CDC. We are called conspiracy theorists for this stuff yet they have been right about the vaccine mandates, camps, and wuhan lab. God bless, please pray, do research on DuckDuckGo because they probably have more of the truth, don’t get vaccinated and just letting you know. “4.6
