Glad to know this is there. Fixed my issue, I'll be ready to use it again. This system always get's glitchy with me. Honestly this whole system in the center console is one of the few upgrades from a base model to a full Sport Touring model and it's a big disappointment. I would have rather had the old system with no touch screen and no smartphone connection but did it's functions reliably. Having my smart phone mounted on the dash wasn't exactly a hassle and at least it always worked.

My wife's Samsung Phone in her CRV, Android Auto would no longer connect. I have the same phone and it works correctly. Nothing I changed on the phone would fix it. I disconnected and reconnected the phone several times and it would work through Bluetooth, but Android Auto would not connect. After doing factory reset to the head unit, I connected first try and Android Auto works again. Many Thanks!

Hello, I have a 2017 Honda Accord coupe EX-L I had to replace my digitizer from the main middle screen and had to disconnect some wires. After assembling it back the digitizer worked great but now the top screen whcih worked before with the backup camera and blind spot camera lights up but just shows a black screen with the cameras not working any ideas? I’ll try reconnecting everything again but do you think it may be something else? Thank you
Okay, I am unfamiliar with your model but reconnect all the wires, and hold down the power button on your radio for approximately 10 seconds and see will it reset

I have a 2017 Hybrid Accord Touring and both screens are blacked out. This happened a couple days after replacing my battery. When I turn on the car, I get the Honda emblem and also the camera works when backing up or when I signal right. Other than that, the screen stays black. Any advise on what I should do?
Do you think this would work for a 2019 CRV? The Android Auto stopped working and a mechanic suggested it might be because of an update to the phone coincidental to it not working. He suggested a computer reset (for the car), but not sure if this is the same.

Mine show "USB not detect" even with several differ pendrive. When plug at pc, it was ok. problem just when plug on my civic. Any recommendation? Had tried factory reset still same
I took my car to Honda dealership for a service and MOT, and they also tried to do a software update because I kept getting a message popping up asking if I wanted a reboot. Everything was still working at that point though... audio and sat nav and music etc. When I collected the car the garage said there was an internal glitch and the main screen is now stuck on blue, with a number of options to reboot, factory reset, wipe cache etc. Garage say it's not their fault this happened and it's a Honda glitch, and it will cost me £3,800 for new head unit! Is there not an easier, cheaper fix for this? Thanks in advance!
Holy crap !! The head unit is not that expensive.. it couldn’t be 😔 If it’s on a blue screen, I would imagine there is no way to communicate with it, I would definitely bring it to Honda dealer and let them have a quick look at it but ffailingthat the first thing I would do is start looking for a secondhand one on eBay or look for one in the large car dismantler companies that deal with breaking vehicles.. failing all that I would go to an in car entertainment specialist and go with an aftermarket head unit , sorry I couldn’t help any further !!
Ha, you're not wrong! I nearly had a heart attack when they showed me the quote. Dealer garage already tried to do a software update, which made the issue worse really. They've been pretty helpful though to be fair, and referred me to Honda UK so I'll see how I get on there. Many thanks for the quick advice though, much appreciated.
My Civic's head unit does not have the keyless access beep option, but my car has a beeper since it beeps when I try to lock the vehicle while the ignition is on. Is this because I have the european version of the head unit software? I can't enable the beep for locking and unlocking. Do you have the option in your Irish Honda?
Hi Felix, there is no option available to have a beep sound when you lock or unlock the vehicle colour I don’t believe that an option anywhere in any country, the deep sound is only there for the warning purposes you mentioned, I stand to be corrected but from what I have seen on models in Ireland and the UK, there is no beep sound option for locking 😊😊
I have the same screen as you but it’s not responding and flashing in and out occasionally so I am not able to navigate to the settings. Any idea on how I restart it otherwise?

@@williamthompson9084 Okay you have the first version of the connect system which is previous to this radio, if the car was bars in Ireland you will not have a navigation option on that vehicle farmer if however the car was bought in the UK you might have the option, where are you based?

I keep having issues with Apple CarPlay mode on my 2020 Civic. it just keeps freezing! My son did a "factory reset" twice. it works but is this bad for the car in the long run?
On my 2020 Ridgeline RTL, when I do a factory reset, it does not reset everything to factory settings. It keeps the radio presets, the lighting settings, door settings, etc all the same. It just does a reboot.
This is a good point, i usually find that the factory data reset however is enough to re-boot any glitches out of the system but you are right it will still retain some memory!
Hi, I can't even click the OK button On The Start screen.. Can't connect. Before this happened, I tried to use the google web in the unit for the first time ( just bought car 2 weeks ago) by connecting to internet Wi-Fi. Then I try to search for you tube videos in the browser and while the short video was playing, it hang and unable to even go back to home page. I tried to restart car. It comes to the front Honda screen but cant even click the OK button and it blink every few seconds.. What should I be concern and aware about when I bring my car to the sales centre as its still under warranty. I hope it goes better and this issue never come back :(

Hi got a question, my honda civic 2021 keeps on locking even though it’s already locked, I’ve also tried to change it to when you shift from park it locks instead of speed sensing locks, also the remote start isn’t working. Hmm all started when I reset the head unit because it was stuck in carplay. Would a restart solve the problem?
Ok i hear you so first i would go in and check the settings... go to settings on the radio then select vehicle then select door / window set up , is there an option to auto unlock and lock ???
@@josejoshuatrinidad5063 Okay, if it’s locking when it’s already locked, it just sounds like something is sending a signal at incorrect times times.. I have not come across it as an issue bus there are modules in the vehicle that control central locking and many other electrical functions… In this case because it’s under manufacturers warranty, I think the sensible thing to do is visit the dealer, have you talked to the Honda dealer yet?
@@doolanbrian due to current lockdown restrictions here in the ph, dealers will resume their operations by sept 😅 so after lockdown I’ll bring it there, I was hoping to solve the problem myself though, would removing the battery do anything at all? Maybe force a reset on the car’s electrical system?
@@josejoshuatrinidad5063 it is a common thing to do in dealers .. disconnection of the battery for 30 minutes to reset systems .. when you put the battery back on it will have some faults on the dash so you will need to drive it for 5 mins to allow the systems to recalibrate 🙂
Honda App Centre keeps saying No Internet Connection, check time settings, even though the time is set automatically and the internet connection via either wifi hotspot or home wifi is on and excellent signal. Any ideas? thanks
hi i did step by step as you just when i pushed to ok to set the facotry reset the screen gone black as yours in #0;50 sec and right there i had to stop the engine so when i started it again it didint worked, so now when i start my honda pilot 2017 it says on screen honda logo after honda link and black screen as in #0;50 sec what can i do to re connect it thanks
Ok The car should not be switched off during the reboot What I would do is disconnect the 12v battery for 10 mins , then reconnect then restart the radio and allow it about 5 mins to restart I can’t be sure but it might work . We don’t get the pilot in ireland 👍

My steering wheel buttons stopped working because there was the buffering circle on the dash when playing music instead of showing me the song like it usually does. I hope this reset fixes it
I’ve reset it twice but nothing has worked. The radio stations don’t show up and there’s no sound. I just brought it to Honda and they said they fixed it but it only worked for 10 minutes yesterday and shut back off

@@doolanbrian no sound coming from either. When I put CarPlay in it will play a mere second of her voice but then stops. Radio has no stations and Bluetooth says it’s connected to my phone but no sound comes out. Idk I’m thinking a blown fuse if anything..
So you probably have a screen with the honda emblem and a loading emblem underneath? It should usually get through this after about 2 to 3 minutes, if it doesn’t unfortunately it doesn’t sound good so you may have to visit the dealer, sorry I couldn’t help any more
If it doesn’t reset you have an issue with the head unit 😔 it should take 2/3 mins at maximum .. if it can’t reboot there is an issue with the head unit .. I would turn off the car at that point and then restart to allow it to reboot again.. if it still won’t reboot then you have a different issue and you might need to visit the dealer .. what year is the vehicle ?? We have had some units in 2017/2018 ones fail but it’s reasonably uncommon… let us know what happens !

We don’t get accord but I have seen locating satellites on the screen when it starts up .. you might need to give it 3-5 mins to locate them .. have you done the reset ??
I changed the battery in my Honda Civic 2015 and the HondaLink logo stays on the screen and I can’t access anything does anyone know what I can do before I take it in?
Hold the power on and also the screen brightness setting - press them at the same time together for 5 seconds and wait for 1 minute .. if this does not help .. disconnect your battery for 10 mins and reconnect.. if this does not help go to the dealer 🙂
It just says overlay #2 and you can see the time like overlapping on the background and the menu but I can't do anything and also it's on developer mode and I can't get it back to how it was

I took my car to Honda dealership for a service and MOT, and they also tried to do a software update because I kept getting a message popping up asking if I wanted a reboot. Everything was still working at that point though... audio and sat nav and music etc. When I collected the car the garage said there was an internal glitch and the main screen is now stuck on blue, with a number of options to reboot, factory reset, wipe cache etc. Garage say it's not their fault this happened and it's a Honda glitch, and it will cost me £3,800 for new head unit! Is there not an easier, cheaper fix for this? Thanks in advance!
Holy crap !! The head unit is not that expensive.. it couldn’t be 😔 If it’s on a blue screen, I would imagine there is no way to communicate with it, I would definitely bring it to Honda dealer and let them have a quick look at it but ffailingthat the first thing I would do is start looking for a secondhand one on eBay or look for one in the large car dismantler companies that deal with breaking vehicles.. failing all that I would go to an in car entertainment specialist and go with an aftermarket head unit , sorry I couldn’t help any further !!
Ha, you're not wrong! I nearly had a heart attack when they showed me the quote. Dealer garage already tried to do a software update, which made the issue worse really. They've been pretty helpful though to be fair, and referred me to Honda UK so I'll see how I get on there. Many thanks for the quick advice though, much appreciated.
My Civic's head unit does not have the keyless access beep option, but my car has a beeper since it beeps when I try to lock the vehicle while the ignition is on. Is this because I have the european version of the head unit software? I can't enable the beep for locking and unlocking. Do you have the option in your Irish Honda?
Hi Felix, there is no option available to have a beep sound when you lock or unlock the vehicle colour I don’t believe that an option anywhere in any country, the deep sound is only there for the warning purposes you mentioned, I stand to be corrected but from what I have seen on models in Ireland and the UK, there is no beep sound option for locking 😊😊
I know that its available in the head unit software for the north american models. Then its probably disabled for the european ones :(

The fit has the same radio ?? I don’t think the reset will work.. you have a connection/ wiring issue most likely

@@williamthompson9084 Okay you have the first version of the connect system which is previous to this radio, if the car was bars in Ireland you will not have a navigation option on that vehicle farmer if however the car was bought in the UK you might have the option, where are you based?

I keep having issues with Apple CarPlay mode on my 2020 Civic. it just keeps freezing! My son did a "factory reset" twice. it works but is this bad for the car in the long run?
The factory reset does not harm the radio.. I wouldn’t worry about that .. how often does it freeze ??

Not always seems to be inconsistent for people, most people, it seems to be able to stay connected to Bluetooth
On my 2020 Ridgeline RTL, when I do a factory reset, it does not reset everything to factory settings. It keeps the radio presets, the lighting settings, door settings, etc all the same. It just does a reboot.
This is a good point, i usually find that the factory data reset however is enough to re-boot any glitches out of the system but you are right it will still retain some memory!
Hi, I can't even click the OK button On The Start screen.. Can't connect. Before this happened, I tried to use the google web in the unit for the first time ( just bought car 2 weeks ago) by connecting to internet Wi-Fi. Then I try to search for you tube videos in the browser and while the short video was playing, it hang and unable to even go back to home page. I tried to restart car. It comes to the front Honda screen but cant even click the OK button and it blink every few seconds.. What should I be concern and aware about when I bring my car to the sales centre as its still under warranty. I hope it goes better and this issue never come back :(

Hi got a question, my honda civic 2021 keeps on locking even though it’s already locked, I’ve also tried to change it to when you shift from park it locks instead of speed sensing locks, also the remote start isn’t working. Hmm all started when I reset the head unit because it was stuck in carplay. Would a restart solve the problem?

@@josejoshuatrinidad5063 Okay, if it’s locking when it’s already locked, it just sounds like something is sending a signal at incorrect times times.. I have not come across it as an issue bus there are modules in the vehicle that control central locking and many other electrical functions… In this case because it’s under manufacturers warranty, I think the sensible thing to do is visit the dealer, have you talked to the Honda dealer yet?
@@doolanbrian due to current lockdown restrictions here in the ph, dealers will resume their operations by sept 😅 so after lockdown I’ll bring it there, I was hoping to solve the problem myself though, would removing the battery do anything at all? Maybe force a reset on the car’s electrical system?
@@josejoshuatrinidad5063 it is a common thing to do in dealers .. disconnection of the battery for 30 minutes to reset systems .. when you put the battery back on it will have some faults on the dash so you will need to drive it for 5 mins to allow the systems to recalibrate 🙂

Honda App Centre keeps saying No Internet Connection, check time settings, even though the time is set automatically and the internet connection via either wifi hotspot or home wifi is on and excellent signal. Any ideas? thanks

The car should not be switched off during the reboot
What I would do is disconnect the 12v battery for 10 mins , then reconnect then restart the radio and allow it about 5 mins to restart

I’ve reset it twice but nothing has worked. The radio stations don’t show up and there’s no sound. I just brought it to Honda and they said they fixed it but it only worked for 10 minutes yesterday and shut back off

@@doolanbrian no sound coming from either. When I put CarPlay in it will play a mere second of her voice but then stops. Radio has no stations and Bluetooth says it’s connected to my phone but no sound comes out. Idk I’m thinking a blown fuse if anything..

So you probably have a screen with the honda emblem and a loading emblem underneath? It should usually get through this after about 2 to 3 minutes, if it doesn’t unfortunately it doesn’t sound good so you may have to visit the dealer, sorry I couldn’t help any more

If it doesn’t reset you have an issue with the head unit 😔 it should take 2/3 mins at maximum .. if it can’t reboot there is an issue with the head unit .. I would turn off the car at that point and then restart to allow it to reboot again.. if it still won’t reboot then you have a different issue and you might need to visit the dealer .. what year is the vehicle ?? We have had some units in 2017/2018 ones fail but it’s reasonably uncommon… let us know what happens !

Anybody had an issue before with your honda accord 2018 in navigation? When I press it to use the map it says " Locating Satellites".
We don’t get accord but I have seen locating satellites on the screen when it starts up .. you might need to give it 3-5 mins to locate them .. have you done the reset ??

Hold the power on and also the screen brightness setting - press them at the same time together for 5 seconds and wait for 1 minute .. if this does not help .. disconnect your battery for 10 mins and reconnect.. if this does not help go to the dealer 🙂

It just says overlay #2 and you can see the time like overlapping on the background and the menu but I can't do anything and also it's on developer mode and I can't get it back to how it was
