Install dual lighted Pontiac Indian "hood ornaments" [circa 1952] in the "wrong" hood pin holes. Make it look like that was the plan from the start! [Day 15 of my own covid battle here.]
@@Sabe53 Glad you didn't follow that advice and you're still here! Fortunately I'm still youngish and spry but it was a rough week or so that's for sure!
I found a good replacement latch for $58 and a Doorman universal cable for $25. The thing about that car over something like a Mini is you're up off the ground a bit which makes it a hell of a lot easier on your knees to get in and out. I think that would be the one real problem with me buying a Mini would be it'd be hell on my knees and my knees crunch every time I stand up as it is.
@@AutomotiveAdventuresWithAustin a lot of times when you can't find parts, stop searching Rock Auto and just search google.. most of the time the parts show up right then and there. Accordingly the parts for a Matrix fit perfectly. I would've linked them like I normally do but you already installed the hood pins so it's moot at this point.
Its just a speed hole , not only is the hood a gram lighter it lets air in to help as a tiny ram air hood . Lol but things happen and im sure most of us can relate to making a tiny mistake or 2 , Hood video Austin 👍
Awesome brother!!! How are you doing sir? Still working on my Ls3 swap. Just takes time to save and wait for the parts to come in lol. You know how that goes lol.
@@rorypengov6789 not sure what Rich's plans are for it honestly. It was SUPPOSED to be a donor car for the race car, "unfortunately" it was just too good to take apart.

Foil tape will patch the hole until a suitable sticker can be purchased. Thanks, great video!
Definitely a high likelihood of a sticker patch coming soon ;)

Good to hear! These things are actually surprisingly easy to work on for most things. Was still in that phase of Toyota where that probably helps ;)

Glad you're feeling better. I was beginning to wonder what happened.
Yeah it's been a rough couple weeks between my health and my dad's unfortunately. Thanks for being concerned!
I love what you are doing mat
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Get a band aid decal for the hole
Lol excellent idea!
Say Austin ? When you going to put snub nose Chevrolet van.LIFE !!
That's a Rich project so very hard to say when it's going to get a spot in the production schedule.
Black would have looked good too.
It would have looked good either way I think, I'm definitely not upset with the setup.
Yay you're not sick anymore
Still have a little bit of the junk hanging around but for the most part I'm cleared up. Thankfully!
Hood pins scream performance like Chrome.
Exactly! And 10x when it's CHROME HOOD PINS!

Congrats on your new temporary immunity
Hopefully it carries me through the rest of the season, this is my 3rd time getting it over the years and by far the longer lingering case.
Fix the hood latch or make it a racecar.... DUH RACECAR!
EXACTLY! Simple ;)
