I really like this car. Takes me back to 1978 at the Pontiac dealership. When my dad bought his Pontiac Grand Prix. There was Pontiac Trans Am sitting on the showroom floor. I will never for get it.
Another great video, J. C. Another fantastic classic. (I know my next comment is way off topic, but I couldn’t help noticing that beautiful Beechcraft King Air in the hangar, and wondered what the connection might be.)
Interesting homologation between the two years, I knew something was a little different when I saw the tail lights. You are smart enough to create an engine that's a daily driver, as well as having a lot more modern horsepower, good for you. I also noticed that it is a manual transmission even better.
@@CarsShopsAndCollections Every time I see one of those cars nostalgia erupts and the first song I hear is East Bound and Down with Jerry Reed and Burt Reynolds infamous laugh.
I agree. There are enough complete cars out there that if you are going to spend the money, there is no need to Frankenstein the two together. Nice work done and impressive engine swap, but it bothers me every time I see a mismatched nose and tail.
Original car made 220hp with the W72 package and Pontiac 400ci. The Oldsmobile 403 made 185hp. Also the car used for stunts and burnouts etc was a specially built 468ci poncho with a 4spd. Whereas the interior shots with Burt was a stock 400 and Automatic
I get sick of supposed car guys calling the Pontiacs arrow head "nose" center front grill/bumper areas,. BEAKS..LMAO ITS A TERRIBLE unflattering misrepresentation, on fire Bird or T/A ITS LITTLE more forgivable, but on gtos and every other iconic Pontiacs arrow head design feature, its big understatement for me!!!
He needs to up grade the rim to the 17 inch year one gold flake rims. Also the LT1 doesn’t make 490 hp, unless it’s been modified. And I agree, SB 2 sucked. All in all, awesome car.
i like how the owner lets the builder be in the video and gives him the credits.
Yes! Really cool he gave him the credit!
JC Fernandez - I have wanted and loved the 77' Trams Am since the Movie Smokey and the Bandit came out in 1977.
Absolutely love this car. Modern technology disguised as a classic. Fantastic job.
Walt did an amazing job with the build!
My God, 46 years already. It's one of my all time favorite movies and came out the same week as Star Wars.
Coming up on the 50th wild!!!
Walt and Tony are great guys. I can definitely vouch for Walt’s work as he spent many hours helping me with my 70 Camaro.
Walt does amazing work... You know I'm a huge fan of your Camaro! For those that to see it check out Episode 12 of 'Cars, Shops & Collections!'
Awesome! Love the 77-78 TAs. I've got a loaded 98 Y87 Firebird garage queen that gets to much attention it's crazy.
That certainly are attention grabbers.... good for you!
That is amazing, best car ive ever seen on TH-cam

Great memories! And if we were lucky the sales guy would let us sit inside!
I restored an 81 many years ago. I really miss it now
awesome series love these cars love your videos
Thanks you so much!!! I appreciate you watching!!!

Beautiful car and plane! Dr. Alamo has been flying planes since he was 16... that one is his!
Beautiful ride sitting proudly on those ws6 in that size

The ride was incredible!

What a beautiful bandit car. Really amazing ❤
They did an amazing job with the build!
Picking up a 78 in about a month
Congrats!!
Pass. 77 front end, on a 79 Car. No shaker hood, non trans am steering wheel.
Its impressive, but not my cup of tea.
Yes, i think the same

What jumped the bridge… !??
Indian fell short to the bow tie.
😊 top end is few places rpm dynamics hold up.
77 W72 was only 200hp, 78 and 79 TA with W72 was 220hp. 79 TA with W72, only came with the four speed manuel...
What's up with the 79 rear end? Not a fan of a mutt.
Awesome Tony
Amazing work 🐝💯
Truly is! Thanks for watching!
I've got a 1977 FORMULA project I'm building into a 9/11 Memorial car, I call it the Freedom Firebird Project.
That's awesome! Would love to see pics!
I need to see this !!
beautiful car the only thing it's missing is the gold double pinstripe...to be a true Bandit
Nice trans am. Looks great
Thanks for watching!!!
Sorry there's not enough pinstripe on that car to be a replica of the Smokey and the bandit but it's very good
Stock speedometer, 77-79, is 100mph, not 85. In 80 and 81, there was a 85mph speedo😮
Definitely
Sorry, not a Bandit car. It's just a 79 Trans Am with an engine swap. I have a 77 Bandit TA with the original 400 pushing out 430 hp.
If you were close to Vegas I would love to film it! JC
@@CarsShopsAndCollections I would love that, but sorry I'm in Florida. Let me know if you ever get over this way.
Not a very good build either
Bandit is actually a 76 with a 77 noise or a 80 turbo car. If you wanna be that specific. They called it a bandit tribute anyway.
Any tribute car is a great tribute car and this one is excellent ❤❤❤❤❤ Thanx4sharing thanx4caring!!
How much

Great point!
Hold on, he does have them. Why didn’t he have them on the car?
The front clip & non Trans Am steering wheel did it for me. I’m out!!
You gotta keep them original
The King Air 90 behind you is better.
That’s our next episode!
jfc why is it every boomer and millennial say firechicken or flaming chicken .. firebird you can call it that these are trans ams its a GD eagle
I’m Gen X… but yeah, for some reason that’s my go to on it!
w72 t/a 6.6 made 220 h.p

Nice car. NOT A BANDIT. Its a fake
NO BUDDY, THE VANISHING POINT CHALLENGER IS THE MOST ICONIC CAR OF ALL TIME! That car is known by all the underground movie lovers.
Did you also notice he has to keep holding the hood up because it doesn't hold itself up on this wasn't a very good job to be
