I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how such a big mix of tree species would look at first, but when I got the end of the video, that had gone out the window. Really great composition, works well together. Also always great to see something different from the usual bonsai norms. Great watch. 👌
I've worked creating aquarium landscapes but trees, ferns and moss has always been my passion. You have created a forest I could stare at for hours, it is truly amazing to me. Beautiful selection of trees, great composition. Thank you for such a wonderful video!
Hi! I used to have a huge salt water reef tank that was my pride and joy. It was a tall tank so I could recreate a beautiful “reef” and it was very healthy and vibrant. Sadly I moved to an old house with a crawl space and worried it couldn’t support the tank so I sold it. 😢 I’ve since taken up terrariums but it’s not quite the same (tho cheaper haha)
Attila...WOW. Just WOW!!! I christen thee the "Concrete Whisperer". Such a wonderful thing to watch you work your artistry...my blood pressure dropped 20 points. Seriously...great stuff. Thank you.
Came over from Adams last video and enjoying every sec. Mate what a great composition! Was getting tired of seeing als these japanese/ chinese inspired trees which are fine and amazing in there own right but I always wondered if that was all there is. So Im amazed seeing stuff like this which is fresh and new to me. This is what bonsai should be like: everchanging and evergrowing like our trees! Well done!
Thanks a lot Christian! To be honest , i had the same feeling, even was ready for a criticising comment tsunami, about "This is not traditional Japanese Bonsai Forest" As it has different species, etc etc.... But if we really see as an artform, than let it be that way, the end of the day we are playing with plants and creating the best care for them as much as possible. And it should be free of judgement, we are all at different level, different ideas.... So i will keep "break" the "rules" and just do what i like. Happy that you did too! THanks for the lovely comment! 😉
@@FangornBonsai Could not care less what purists/gatekeepers have to say about bonsai like "This is not bonsai" etc. Often I find Bonsai stuck in its ways slavishly following rules and traditions, but wheres the fun in that? Rules are meant to be broken, so it is refreshing to see you breaking with it. Keep up what you doing, exploring new possibilities and styles, being loud and bold, this is what bonsai for me is all about.
I agree with all the comments in this thread. The purists can be a little condescending at times. It’s why I love Notion Bonsai so much. The only thing that should matter is the health of the trees.
Your artistry is astonishing! The entire composition is stunning. I particularly admire your dry brush painting. Have you ever encountered a problem with trees failing to thrive once their roots find their way into the highly alkaline (ph 11-13) concrete beneath the soil?
Hey Michael! Thank you so much! Not really, as we use cement pots for all sorts of plants. You can check out the latest videos of mine about update on this forest.
Mixed forests are a natural thing so why don't we see more of them displayed ? Mine is now going into yr 3 and I get's better every year. Thanks well done !!!
I am awestruck. That is a magnificent accomplishment that you will continue to nurture and enjoy for decades. I try to replicate natural scenes in my work, so this has tremendous appeal to me. I’m your newest subscriber
That’s bonsai on steroids, fantastic work, I like others look forward to see the development of forest along with your other projects, I like the way you have grouped different species together, the detail you go to is remarkable, the snow made the setting magical for that short time. Did you plan the whole project before hand or has just developed as you went along. Look forward to your next project Attila.
Thank you so much Joe for your very kind words! Snow was unexpected and also wonderful, i was in the office that day so asked my wife to do some shots for me, she did an amazing job on that! 😊 Answering your question. I wanted to do this project for years now, but i did not have the skills or the imagination for it earlier, and yes all of it was planned before hand, i even draw the concept with the waterfall, and the next day discard it as i thought will be too much, or bit cheezy if not executed well, all and all i think it went well, few thing turned out differently but i am happy that i made it that way 😉
Hi, that’s a absolutely beautiful piece of artwork that defines a bonsai artist, you should be so proud of yourself coming up with such a spectacular design and finished with such a great water feature, spot on mate. 👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼
Gobsmacked. I don’t suppose you’d consider installing a live webcam aimed at this masterpiece so I could just leave it running in the corner of my monitor at work??!! 😅 Love the music, the scene changes and varied shots, too!
This was so wonderfull to watch ! I can just see you expand this natural project , stick pieces of lime stone to the bottom of this forest and make a stalactite like formation , you know that hangs from the ceiling of caves 😉
My hobby is actually terrariums but I found this video very inspiring, beautiful and educational too! Lots of ideas for securing plants, form, composition etc… Btw, I was surprised at how natural the “stones” turned out. Bravo! I would think that would be a big challenge. In the auS you can buy these fake waterfall made out of plastic. They always look horrible. Lol
Stunning work it looks beautiful could you possibly do a video sharing tips for cutting the tree branches etc for bonsai.. I understand that each tree is different but a little guide if you don't mind and have the time
That's so beautiful. I have worked on much smaller versions of this idea but nothing comes close to this masterpiece. You're so talented and thanks for showing us the possibilities of mixed forest ideas. Such a great job 👍🫶
@@FangornBonsai working on my epoxy art 😅😅 atm. I m still learning! For this I have to order some sand first before I can get started and have to find some rocks or something. So relax, sit back, take it easy 😊😅 having children walking around here so doing my 'thing' when able. But will eventually show it. So beautiful and inspiring
Wow!! Attila!! This is so over the top amazing!! Spectacular!! Your wife must be so proud of the back yard you are creating!! No end to you talent! My only concern is one support enough to hold all that weight, even when it snows? you have it nicely anchored to the fence, but is the fence strong enough to hold it? But what a project! Just gorgeous!
You’ve combined my favorite things, bonsai, forests, water. Stunning! Can’t wait to watch more.
Thanks Dave! 😊
Right and a tad of carpentry

Mixed forests are a natural thing so why don't we see more of them displayed ? Mine is now going into yr 3 and I get's better every year. Thanks well done !!!
Good question! Would love to see yours!
Most forests are grown in relatively small trays, and vigorous species outcompete slower trees, eventually girdling their roots and killing them.
@@kliether33this makes sense
I've wondered that too! My only guess is that you would at least need trees with similar requirements as they are all in the same "pot".
That´s next level bonsai forrest. So cool with the water.
