When considering having a Rhinoplasty it is important to keep in mind that everyone's face shape is different and thus, so is everyone's perfect nose shape. Additional Rhinoplasty information.
You must fast (no water or food) for at least 8 hours before surgery.
You must inform the clinic if you are taking any medication or have any illness.
First time rhinoplasty often takes between 2-3 hours to complete.
-you may leave the clinic once you are fully alert and do not feel dizzy. This usually takes anywhere from 1-3 hours.
You must return to the clinic 2-3 times within 1 week for your scheduled checkups.
You must ice as much as possible under the doctor’s directions.
The protective splint is normally removed after 5 days.
Taping and stitches are removed normally after 7 days.
Your nose is very swollen at first and some people swell more than others.
The under eye area can bruise, especially if you have double osteotomy.
To others, you will look fine after 1-4 weeks. However, you may think your nose is bigger than the final outcome because it is still swollen.
Full setting takes place between 6-12 months after surgery.
There are limits to what rhinoplasty can accomplish, it is important to know what is possible and what is not possible.
