Mitch Muir11 Hello!! I’m a Canadian Navy sailor who ran into you in the Caribbean many years ago, as you were on your way back home from your journey around the world! I was the Bridge Watchkeeper that day and have never forgotten that chance encounter at sea. I saw a recent article regarding a young gentlemen sailing the world with a chicken, and instantly though of you (and hence found you through a google search for the “mighty chicken”!). So wonderful to be reminded of your incredible story, and I hope all is well with you and your family! Thanks a lot Mitch for that message. Too bad you did not leave your contact info. For a couple of days before that meeting at sea, I thought I was being followed by pirates of the Caribbean Sea... I hope you and your family are doing well too. Andy
Andy, I have watched your video four times and enjoyed it more each time. I am amazed at your boat selection as the Figaro planes and potentially gives you a pretty rough ride. At the same time your speeds were amazing and your calm in handling strong winds and challenging seas is inspiring. Closing the loop must have been a thrill of a lifetime. Congratulations and thank you so much for logging your trip via video and sharing it with all. Technology is wonderful when used in such a fashion. And, as another viewer commented, I too think Mighty Chicken is perhaps one of the best names I've heard for a boat. I admire you very much. Good future sailing.
I am very proud of you. I am of American Polish decent. I've had appropriate 6 large boats of substance size. You must be a sailor of unquestionable knowledge. May God bless you. John Meksa
Congratulations Andy on your magnificent feat of becoming the rare breed of solo circumnavigator! I hope to follow your footsteps and the footsteps of Slocum, Pidgeon, Duma, Chichester, Knox Johnson, Moitessier, MacArthur, and other great solo sailors.
hi andy we worked on our boats together side by side in west van, I always wondered what happened to you just happened across this video and I was so excited to see it. i remember your sense of humor what is your next dream
Having done some sailing and been in a force 10 gale, onboard 35ft ketch no engine mid atlantic not funny, but character building. Around the planet solo? Big respect to you sir.
Very interesting and enjoyable Were you an accomplished sailor when you started or courageous enough to adapt. Did you prepare in advance or as the trip unfolded. Might Chicken is a vessel I'll remember for some time. Nice work.
what kind of boat is it? A J/boat or POGO 35? nice boat, great sailing. why do windvane for self steering? what did you use? Did you have an AIS transponder to see the ships or no? what type of self steering did you use?
i hope i do like this adventure . what you do in night ? do you slip and the boat go ahead without any control or may be you close the sail ? thank you
I've only been on a couple of sailboats in my entire life but it seems to me that if you're going to claim to have made a circumnavigation on a sailboat you're sort "cheating" by going through the Panama Canal. But, what the hell do I know?!

+Walter Strong Clearly not much.
If you had done a circumnavigation your comment would be worthy of some merit. However, you haven't, so it isn't.
Well... this is the Real circunavegation. It is mutch longer than the traditonal around Antartica
If you are in Vancouver , pls contact me. I want to learn your experience. Will .
