Here's the thing that bothers me when people compare phones. You get what you PAY for. The Poco is not water resistant... It has a worse glass display, worse camera, worse OS optimization, worse build, the Snapdragon is nowhere near the new chips in the iPhone. The iPhone has a better speaker. No NFC in the poco, you get worse support from Xiaomi.
Now I'm not saying that the iPhone is priced right, cause it isn't. I 100% believe that you get more features per dollar if you get an android, especially Samsung. But you CAN'T compare the iPhone xR to Poco. Now if you were to compare the Poco to ONeplus, that would make so much more sense

People still giving this phone a hard time! its a $300 phone. There needs to compromises somewhere. You can pay way more and get way less than this phone. Arguably the best value for money phone ever imo

Its splash resistant which is enough for most people, who actually needs to have their phone up to 2 meters under water for 30 minutes (ip68 certification)

Put your sim back into a Galaxy S7 for a week and compare it to the newer phones. See if its worth it to always upgrade to the newest "must have' phones.

i have been using the s7 for 2 years, and it's a good phone but the battery life is pretty lame
I had the s7 before getting an s9+. i had no problems really with the 7...BUT WOW the newer phone is crazy smooth. Screen looks amazing, and everything is so snappy. Its for sure worth if you're thinking about it
Only thing that reviewers are missing is the fact that poco f1 has wonderful developer community on XDA. The company allows you to root the device without voiding the warranty and what more they are even helping the developer community too.
I'm proudly using Lineage OS 16 and BSG's Google pixel camera app port and the Franco's kernel.
Result : best motherfucking experience you can get on a smartphone!

Sony XZ3 - looking for a dual, front-facing speaker flagship and, while not a popular US choice, I'd consider it.
I love poco f1 , I've been using it for more than 2 weeks now and there is nothing I could find negative about this device. This is simply a blessing for people like me who do not want to spent so much money on a smartphone but still want to get best experience possible.

Flipkart ( the official online retailer for Poco F1) has removed Flash sales for Poco F1 128 GB and the Armoured Variants (the one he's using). Only the 64 GB version is being sold via flash sales as of now.
I too thought the DRM thingy couldn't be solved via a software patch but there's a fix already on XDA. 😉. So I'll guess they aren't lying.
The face unlock is blaaaaaaazinnnnggggg fast. Works in super dark situations as well courtesy of the IR illuminator.
I'm getting excellent reception for all networks.
Amazing battery life, 7+ to 10+ hours of SoT. The bundled quick charge brick is super useful and it charges the battery really really fast.
The camera is very good. Definitely can't compare with the notes and pixels of the world but it is still very good even for the price.
The only con as per me is the software. I prefer stock android, but I'm giving their skin MIUI a chance because of some features I like . I'll try their MIUI 10 (official stable when it gets released) for sometime and if it doesn't stand up to my expectations, I'll flash a stock custom ROM like pixel experience --------> one of the greatest perks of android phones.
I'm really into buying this phone but a little worried about people saying that the screen is bleeding from top and bottom, is that a thing ? and also the curved edeges are a litte too curved IMO , is that noticeable while using? hoping for a unbiased answer :D

Bought Poco 3 days ago and I can confirm... Face unlock coupled with the "Raise to wake" feature works like dream! Even in COMPLETE darkness it never failed! Really loving this magnificent piece of machinery.

In the Indian market, the flash sale situation is pretty common with phones selling out in under a minute in some cases. Xiaomi always releases phones through such flash sales including the poco F1. It's becomes available to buy normally in about 4-5 months. In fact, xiaomi partners with online retailers like amazon to conduct such flash sales in a lightning deal type scenario just with the phones selling out much quicker. Xiaomi does have the largest market share in India so they can easily do this.

Because pocophone has brighter image with wide dynamic range, and the note 9 has better detailed and sharp image but narrower dynamic range and less bright image. Because of Instagram compressed the image, so the details and sharpness are gone, and we can't compare those advantages anymore, and only the dynamic range and brightness that remain the same. That's all what i took from MKBHDs blind test explanation
@@a.reynaldo.d you're right about everything.. but the dynamic range is opposite.. dynamic range is if the darkest point on the frame and brightest point on the frame are exposed properly.. poco overexposed the brightest point and details are lost.. note 9 captures both the darkest spot and the lightest spot (though the darkest spot is a bit darker than in poco but still the details are retained.. ) if you capture in RAW format (as in DSLRs), you can recover details of underexposed parts but you can't recover details of overexposed parts.. that is why landscape photographers or even almost every photographer puts exposure a little towards negative side.

Now i knew that's why you or the experts love to choose darker picture, because they can manage the underexposed part and didn't lose the details because of overexposed part, while common people (on that test) may can't or won't manage the picture so they choose the brighter image that may overexposed in some part but looks brighter. It makes sense tho'. Then i can conclude that maybe note 9 suits professional photographer or people that loves to apply after effect, and pocophone may suits people with no experience of editing but with consequence that's the result may overexposed
About the Netflix resolution, if you use Magisk you can get the module that disables the lib responsible for protected DRM content and watch it in 1080p, if they release a software update, then they can disable that without you rooting the phone

Apple has some of the most talented engineers on the planet on its payroll. That's how their proprietary SOC dominates year after year despite the Chinese's huge advantages when it comes to hardware prototyping.
@@atlmember4045 I think it's the ecosystem that keeps Apple alive. Almost all of the app devs optimize their stuff for Apple. Optimizing apps for just one screen size, aspect ratio, gpu, and RAM makes all the difference. Imagine devs optimizing for each and every Android phone there is, from 4:3 to 16:10 and beyond. Not to mention varying screen sizes and RAM options. I think it's unfair to say that Apple's SOC is better just cause the devs don't have to worry about variations. Just saying.

I'm from India,and the flash sale situation is not a hype builder for next generation. I don't know why its done but here, xiaomi has been doing it since generations of phones. Its a little annoying, since its tough to buy one, but its not something very hard to do. An average person should be able to get to buy the phone in 2-3 tries in my opinion.

Got my poco 2 days back, loving it! Good battery, reliable camera, fast (I do a lot of photo editing) and a familiar feel (moving from another Mi phone). This is by far my happiest purchase in a lifetime 😂

A part of me hopes that Sony becomes more competitive in mobile than they are atm since their XZ phones are pretty good. Pricing is a little bit off though and it's actually baffling that despite using sensors that Sony themselves manufacturers, they can't beat the image quality from other high selling companies, not to mention the situation on RAW support.

don't be a console peasant, being a fan boy does not help with anything. Both the Xbox 1 as well as the Ps4 are good consoles but if we are being honest here the pc is just to competitive for consoles to keep up with. Do not get me wrong consoles are great, but so is not having to pay a $60 a year fee for no other reason then because Sony and Microsoft want to have some extra money in there pocket.

So what I found, Notorious, is that I also can't use the facial unlock feature unless I switch the region to Hong Kong. Other than that small hickup, smooth sailing so far. I love the fingerprint unlocker, it works lighting fast. I'm honestly a little sad that I've stuck with the flagships for so long and helped drive up prices when phones like this one offer almost the same level of performance for a fraction of the cost. Poco F1 is the original flagship killer. I had a hard time letting it go if not for my son wanting to have it because of the amazing game features. Now using the Poco F3 and I'm surprised the price stayed the same. Poco is really my go to brand now. Watched this video by the way a lot of times for the past 3 years and it shows how I love my F1 while watching on my F3.😁😁😁

Very different experience between note 9 and Pocophone. Of course the note 9 will be better in terms of features, but the Pocophone is a little bit faster. But that's about the only thing better.

I guess this just happened in limited units. That too the 6gb ram 64gb varient. You can go for the 128gb varient. I'm using the same. No issues till date after 19 days of use.

I got my Poco F1 two weeks ago. Is perfect phone for daily use or gaming. Most of the main features are pack in this phone. What do you expect more. Poco F1 is worth for the money. A Note 9 price i can get 3 Poco F1.

TVs will be obsolete in next 15-20years. My kids are under 13 they watch everything on the phone even with TVs in their rooms that get youtube and Netflix. Younger generation won't have TVs in their homes when they hit 25.. ... Seems crazy but you'll see.
I'm nearing 30, about to move to a new place and a TV isn't even near the list of the "must buy" stuff. We have a desktop and a couple laptops plus smartphones, we can watch whatever we want in any of those, no need for a TV.
I'm 27 and I have stopped watching TV 3 years ago. I can watch Netflix / torrent with my tablet / phone and game with my laptop.
