The idea is simple: take as many Baits as possible throughout the run without dying. Max Bait is one of the hardest challenges in normal Brotato. It has been theorized that the Bait cap lies somewhere around 350 Baits. For context, many normal runs take 80-100 Baits. 200+ is difficult, and 300+ becomes nightmare fuel.
For improved economy, you need excellent RNG and strong execution for surviving the early game. Thus, there are very high stat demands, especially in attack speed. Weird Food is clutch throughout the run since there is little hope of dodging so much on the screen.
Sticks scale off each other, are cheap to purchase, and carry the Primitive bonus for early HP. It is actually better to move towards the Lampreys to avoid their projectiles if you are close to them. That, and gathering them up during the initial wave.
Resets always happen if you obtain 57 Materials or less during Wave 1. Outside outrageous RNG, you will most likely end up with 3 Sticks and 7/8 Baits. You then accumulate two Sticks per wave until Wave 7, taking care not to take too many Baits. Additionally, you aim for screen wiping through either Baby Elephant or Cyberball.
Even if you do survive these waves, the true obstacles are Waves 8-10. This run was not completely optimized since I could have gotten an earlier Crown, an earlier second Bag, and capping out on Bags.

Clever use of locking to get more free re-rolls

Shame you can't use this tactic in the first two shops, but it probably doesn't change the grand scheme.
