You are doing very nice and clean work. I like the fact that you aren't rushing through it. Keep at it, and more of us will find you.

Hey Dan! I appreciate that a lot. Thank you! I've had a really busy summer and not a lot of time to make knives but the good news is I will be starting a new project in the next week or 2!

@@DaveMakesKnives Well I am enjoying your content, definitely not run of the mill. As a maker myself I look forward to your next instalment.

Good work. Couple of tips. I find the pretwist very important. I have the cable at welding Temps and twist the shit out of it. I have a stepped vice that holds the cable on one end of the cable and a pipe wrench with a rod welded on for leverage for the other end. Make extra weld on the side I am putting the wrench on to get a good grip.

Lately I have been feeling the itch to make more cable damascus. I will definitely try your advice!

    Nice work mate.
But I think you'll do better with a smaller hammer. Looks like it's a bit difficulty to control at times. Also, the face is too big, and you are trying to push too much metal with each hit. Get one with a smaller face. Less hits, but each one does more work...
    Cheers!
PS - don't use a glove on your hammer hand. You have to grip too hard, and when you get to my age you'll have tennis elbow... 😢

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. I have been working on my hammering technique a lot since making this video. I'll have a new video up within a couple weeks hopefully. Maybe you can critique the hammering some more and let me know what you think. I have been thinking about getting a new cross-pein so maybe I will get one a little lighter than my rounding hammer
