  • Hi all,
    Welcome to another video. This was filmed around the Christmas period where I wasn’t really sure what day of the week it was 😅
    I really enjoy these type of jobs where i get to do a bit of everything. I started upstairs where i had exposed bricks and blocks to stick to and an overboard of the ceiling.
    Downstairs was slightly different with a bit of overskim and bonding.
    Hope you all enjoyed the video, please let me know in the commebrs what you think!
    Have a good weekend

    Nice work mate - hard graft working like this all year by yourself - setting up / cleaning up organising everything and then all the plastering on top - respect 👏

    Great vids buddy always love watching how people do things, literally on a job that looks exactly like yours and done the same thing! Although wished I'd used 6' x 3' boards for the walls as they were a right pain to get upstairs! Keep em coming fantastic channel!

    For a job like that I would get 8x4 boards delivered .

    • @AshThePlasterer
      @AshThePlasterer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would on a bigger job mate. It’s easier for me to tack the ceilings using 6x3’s also walls were over 2.4 so would have needed a strip at the top regardless so didn’t really warrant a delivery
      Thanks for watching

    You're not dot and dabbing just dabbing, the dot part is when you stick shim and level/Plumb then you let those go off then dab the boards and push back to the shims

    • @AshThePlasterer
      @AshThePlasterer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, technically, but everyone (I know) still calls it dot n dabbing,
      I’ve never actually used the old method, maybe I should give it a try someday. Just seems a lot of extra work for the same result?

    • @NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot
      @NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Why so pedantic, I never knew about the ‘dot’ part, but everyone i know says dot and dabbing. You simply watched ‘on the trowels’ video explaining the old process and are now preaching

      @@AshThePlasterer sometimes can be worth it if you need to bring it out more then the usual half inch and wall is totally on the piss. Even the best of us can tap that wall slightly too much at times, can get small bits out with skim but some big jobs usually have a bit left of a mix sometimes worth it.

      @@NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot not pedantic, no one I know calls it dot and dabbing. Should never be "dots" anyway. I still use the process now and again ta 👍
