My sponsorship suggestions would revolve around the items you care about. 1) Pet care products 2) Fiber arts products (maybe advertise your Etsy store when it’s available ) 3) autism aids 4) gardening and plant care related products (automatic watering systems, perhaps?). And in regards to Oscar, grieving is important, so I’ve found it is best to let it progress at its own pace. It took me a full year to grieve the loss of my Westie pup. She was such an important element of my life, and she helped me understand the type of unconditional love that parents feel for their children.
Thank you, Ms. Claire. Was up and down all night, finally got up, grabbed a soda and was very happy to see a new posting.🙂 The grieving process takes time so don't rush it. (And never apologize.) If you happen to know any single lady cats my son, Trouble, happens to be the handsomest Tom in NEPA. 😊 My daughter told me yesterday that she had just bought her own set off noise-cancelling headphones. She loves them. 😇 Be well. - 🎩
Good morning Claire! I had to get used to ear plugs too, they still throw me off a bit because at home I wear over the ear headphones (a necessity when you have kids lol), but I like the in ear ones for in public. They are just weird and take some getting used to when it’s been a while. My Easter was okay. Our family get together was very overwhelming. I am not “out” about being autistic with my in laws… and between the noise level and the fact that they insist on talking about sensitive political issues that are huge triggers for me… I had to take a lot of breaks. I hope you have a good week! Take care!
Happy Porch Coffee Day! Noise cancelling earplugs were such a relief for me! I’ve tried Loop and Flare, but Loops have been easier for me to use. I survived my kid’s sport event at the school with much less stress and it helps when my kids are just generally too loud for my sensory input needs. It’s a BIG thing. I can be such a better human to them when I can reduce that additional stimulation. I cannot describe the amount of relief putting them in for the first time was. I need to be reminded to use them more often I think. It’s such a funny thing though. When I am working everything is already too quiet so I need some kind of background that I don’t find distracting and that’s a whole other issue - if you solve for that, feel free to let me know! I have to switch between music and audiobooks and once in a while meditation sounds, very mood dependent. Enjoy your week all!

Yes! More sensory product reviews would be so cool!! You know.... it's bizzare to me how it took me until last year to realize and appreciate how sensitive I am sensory-wise! My life-long experienced migraines make me pretty sensitive to sound and light. I have a pair of Loop ear plugs that are pretty good but the occlusion experience is so weird with them, so I find I take them out to talk to people, which sort of negates the point. They're amazing to throw in when my kids are coming home from school and I'm typically bombarded by the change in noise... which, whoa mama, is a massive trigger for me. I see the same brand came out with a new set that are supposed to reduce the weird underwater in your head sensation.
Yeah same, it's crazy how I wasn't really for years how much things bothered me, like I definitely remember walking outside in the sunshine and just feeling like hissing because it's just so bright lol
Hope you had a Happy Easter! We just stayed home and hid eggs around the house and both kids had a blast. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder so I'm thankful spring is here. I hope you have a great week Claire and friends! 💞
Also super thankful for Spring starting. It is so much of an mood improvement for me right now that I don’t know if I can describe it! Enjoy your week! 🌷
It is so nice having my coffee with you this morning. I took today off work because I know how Easter affects me---even though I love this holiday, it's not a restful weekend. It's a month's volume of stress and emotions packed into a few days. I only wear noise dampening ear plugs in certain situations and only a brief time. It makes me feel unsafe when I'm not totally aware of my enviroment. At church, I wear them when noises around me are too loud (beginning and ending of service or just listening to music). I am the main pianist/keyboard player and singer at my church; but I cannot wear them when singing or playing music because it dampens and muddies the sound too much and the vibrations of my singing in my head gives me a headache. If I wear ear plugs too long , it gives me a headache. There have been situations when they have saved me from a meltdown/shutdown, so I always keep them with me just in case.
Hi Claire! No need to say "sorry" because we love Porch Coffee just as it is / you are, naturally, whatever comes out is good.🤗 I was so sad to hear about your cat last week I couldn't even comment. What was really nice in this video was seeing you've sold 47 mugs! And the bird sounds in the background were lovely. It looks like the weather has become nice for you, which is great. Nice jumper btw. 👍 I've made a bit of progress on my thesis (1 chapter fully drafted) so that's my news. Have a great week! And take care of you. 😊
But Elizabeth, I love saying sorry! Lol just kidding I think it's a bad habit of mine to constantly apologize. Thanks also for noticing the birds - i love to listen to them as well.
sorry to hear about your loss (i'm behind watching your videos, time just gets away from me these days). Easter was busy, we spent Good Friday in our workshop finishing off some jobs I've gotten behind on. Saturday was a quick bit of shopping & Sunday we saw family. I started using ear plugs at work because people are so noisy, I tried one brand & they were ok but a friend recommended a different type which I love. You were talking about sponsorships, maybe a company that sells sensory things (fidgets, or clothing, weighted blankets) that sort of thing anyway. You do not need to apologize for being tired, life gets on top of us & we never seem to catch up.
Not a huge earplug person, but the one situation where they help is on airplanes. Earplugs then headphones over that, makes flights a little more manageable.
I use loop earplugs and I love them. I avoided ear plugs for many many years because they hurt my ears but the loops have different sizes and you pick the one that fits your ear and apparently I just have really small ear canals. They are noise reducing and I keep them on my keychain, and wear them in restaurants, movie theaters, grocery store, when I take my kids to kid places like indoor playgrounds or aquariums. They block enough background sound that they help me to be able to stay places longer, but they don’t block so much sound that I can’t hear my kids talking to me. That was one of the things I was most worried about. But I can totally still hear them talking to me. I would love to learn more about different kinds of earplugs, so I would definitely be interested in if you reviewed a bunch of different ones.
Interesting about the ear canals being different sizes, right? I had never really thought of this until getting these new ear plugs. I have decided to keep mine in a case in my purse in case I need them while I am out.
Also I am so sorry about your cat. Ugh, losing them is SO HARD. I lost both of my cats very close together and my goodness what a doozy that was. They were so special to me, I couldn't image just accepting it and fast forwarding through that process. I don't know if this resonates with you, but I hope you feel signs of him being around in energetic form, when and if that lands...
Good day Claire! I'm glad your open about how you miss Oscar! It was too soon and that's a legitimate feeling, nothing wrong with expressing it. 💙 so I totally understand what you were trying to say about the sensation of the ear plugs. What a coincidence too because this past week I decided to wear just ordinary ear buds as ear plugs during my entire work week! It helped so much! I also didnt realize how much I was hearing everyday! When I would wear them and sunglasses while driving, u felt like I wasn't even in reality anymore...because everything was so quiet and not as bright, I really felt like I was in an alternate world! It goes to show how much I am adapted to hearing and seeing everything! I'm definitely making ear plugs part of my work life!
So cool, nice idea. My kids can really jabber on and it can b too much and I don't have anything else just ear buds, I've tried them too, it really does make a difference. I felt more at peace once I had them on and I can still hear plenty
Hearing protection…. We wear sunglasses when outside and advise people to not look at the sun, and yet the stigma around protecting ears exists. I keep foam plugs handy all of the time. Just enjoying the equinox here. Be well, D
I dream about these earplugs! I tried some big ones for construction workers, and it was great, but I don't want to walk around with such a huge thing on my head Glad you sold more mugs☺️
Happy Easter! It's the end of a long week for me. Monday and Tuesday, I was quite sick which was worrying because the third and final interview of my ASD assessment was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. I didn't want to cancel because I waited a year and a half for this. But then Wednesday turned out to be the day in the course of an illness where you can function as long as you're on Tylenol (or what have you). So I went. I finally got to see the picture book with the frogs in it that I've heard autistic people talk about from the assessment process. So that was good 😅 So now I have to wait for all the information to be reviewed and they'll get back to me in the coming weeks. To end on a lighter note, on Friday, my five-year-old wandered out of his room first thing in the morning and I took one look at him and said, "Arthur, why are you all blue?" It was a clear-cut case of sleeping all night on an uncapped blue marker but my husband called it "Smurf-itis." 😂 It took a couple days for all the Smurf to rub off his skin (soap and water only got us so far) but there are still traces of it in his hair.
Happy Easter, I got my autism diagnosis two weeks ago, and during my research before I asked to be referred for an autism assessment, and during the time pre-diagnosis you helped a lot. Sounds like you had a relaxing Easter! I did as well. I ate way too much candy as usual. 😂. I’m glad the ear protection worked out for you. I have always had a problem with getting earbuds to stay in my ears, and when they are in, they tend to cause a lot of pressure. Is it from the brand Flare? I personally use their Calmer Night in-ear devices(softer silicone) when going out anywhere that requires me to hear what is going on around me..game changer 🤩
I’ve tried a few earplugs flare didn’t work for me and loop were too strong. I think I bought the wrong ones because they cut almost all sound. I’d go for the less sound reduction. The loop ones just made me hear my ear ringing even louder 😅

Would u b bothered by just cheap ear buds in your ear as well? I only use ear buds so I'm thinking maybe I wouldn't mind them
@@heedmydemands yes, unfortunately, I think it’s the sensation of having something in my ears.
@@T.T.M.60 now that I think of it, I do take one ear bud out and kinda alternate so maybe I'm a bit uncomfortable having it in my ears too
I struggle to find something comfortable as well
@@WoodshedTheory if you do find anything, let me know. There are definitely times I could use something!
Is it from the brand Flare? I personally use their Calmer Night in-ear devices(softer silicone) when going out anywhere that requires me to hear what is going on around me..game changer 🤩
It is not flare
I’ve tried a few earplugs flare didn’t work for me and loop were too strong. I think I bought the wrong ones because they cut almost all sound. I’d go for the less sound reduction. The loop ones just made me hear my ear ringing even louder 😅
Interesting thanks for sharing
