Nice video , been scouring youtube trying to find a similar one for the micromonsta 2. I got one before Christmas and been struggling to wrap my head around making patches on it as I'm pretty new to synths in general.
Cheers! If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to take patches you like and explore the different parameters one by one and see how things change. There's tons of options, so it can be tough to dive in and build up a whole patch - at least for me anyway!
Seems to be more polyphony (2x6 versus 8), more oscillators, and a bunch of other things: "Despite the fact they share the same name, they are different in every way: brand new hardware with much more powerful dsp, upgraded switches and encoders, new low profile sexy aluminum enclosure, different internal architecture and updated algorithms. Everything has been re-done from scratch. It is also USB powered and the output can drive a pair of headphones." www.audiothingies.com/product/micromonsta2/ www.audiothingies.com/product/micromonsta/
@@StephenMcLeod Ok thanks for that - i inadvertantly bought the MM on Reverb today ex demo and thought it was the MM2 so i'll still have fun with it despite being the less capable. Why they don't bung in a headphone socket is baffling - like the Erica db-01 ! Cheers and thanks for the quick response. Just checked the order details and it says it's an 8 voice polyphonic synth ?
I held back on buying the original because of the lack of reverb. Now I'm holding back on the new one because of the switch to 3.5mm jacks for everything. 🤬 But I don't think there's anything that compares at its price point, the Blofeld has too many issues and is even more complicated, and anything with knob per function is going to be too expensive, so I might have to bite the bullet.
@@StephenMcLeod Its on its way, You have to be very quick as they release them in small batches, I've been waiting 4 months or so for mine, so i'm all excited, sorta early xmas feeling!
@@StephenMcLeod pahaha funny I was considering the Nymphes too! I wanted a tiny synth to go away with the Polyend Tracker and had issues with the 1010music fireball so thought this might be a good alternative! Is it easy enough to add your own wavetables?
This is my new favourite TH-cam channel. I have no idea what synths are but I love the pretty colourful lights :)
Yas! I need all the views.
That MM case is really nice. This synth indeed does a lot, its one of my favorites.
It is a nice wee addition! Thanks for watching.

What's the name of the sequencer you use at 15:00?

Great review, thanks for posting.
Thanks Phil! Glad it was of use.

@@StephenMcLeod I also enjoy "stacking" VCO's to listen to the "drift" !
Wha's the difference between the Miocromonsta and Micromonsta 2 any idea ?

@@twiglet2214 They are both pretty capable synths, so I'm sure you'll have a blast with it!
Definitely not the MM2 ! Checked on their website.Trollocks.
@@StephenMcLeod Thankenstein allmyfriendsaresynths.
Cool vid, what’s the grid sequencer you use on the lovely pattern at the end?
Thanks! That's a Monome 256 :)

I've been waiting months to get the MK2 version , big difference is its Bi-timbral. I'm into portable Dawless and it can be powered by USB.
Bi timbral is a pretty sweet deal

Pretty decent Jupiter emulation.
Ohhhh whereabouts? I need to spend more time with it.
I'm pretty sure I just bought this off you 😂
Guilty! Sold it to help fund my Nymphes haha
