A lot of American build it their selves. Nice shed and your labor was free. You give other people the confidence to build one with their family.
a lot of people in general just do many things themselves, it's not just an American thing to DIY stuff
edit: humans as a species can do anything if we would just work together and set our feelings aside
Agree but the labor is not necessarily free, there is an opportunity cost to DIY. If your time spent doing something else could generate more value than the cost of paying a laborer, you are losing money. Generally, the less your time is worth the more DIY makes sense financially.
@@luftschlossercreations5451TH-cam videos allow them to monetize this effort.
Labor is never free bruh
Your time is also an expense
Check local building/fire codes first to see if you need to be 5 feet between the fence and the building.
Yes, could never do that where we live. Is 8' here.
Good thing he built it light enough to move 😂 we also require setbacks for fire, including from other buildings
@@Ruthy101 Right? How the heck would that thing ever be moved?
It looks great. The only thing I would change on the shed is the door latch string to stainless steel wire. Hopefully, you have some left from your workout railing deck.
Yeah, that string will likely degrade over time and possibly break if ever needed.
Great idea. That thing could easily degrade or be cut.
Everytime I think you are done, you do 3 more things. Everything looks so lovely and it's nice to see all the products that you use. DIY has come a long way.
Your work is amazing! Yes, building codes and HOA wouldn’t allow you to build that close to the fence. You have great ideas for projects that you completely finish. Some people start projects but don’t finish them. Bravo to you both for seeing them through! Thank you for your videos. They do give DIYers the confidence to do the work themselves!
You likely should put a gravel base to prevent the anchors from sinking into the soil, no?
Wow, I'm a do it yourself guy as well, your videos are great. Keep it up, don't quit. They inspire many people to do it themselves. Thank you for sharing .
Nice video. Just a heads up from an engineering standpoint a single 2x8 beam supporting 4' (1/2 of 8') of load at 40psf live load and 10psf dead load fails in bending moment. Even if you were using Douglas Fir. Then adding the roof load adds to the issue. I'm sure it will be fine for a shed but the member that you nailed the hangers onto should have been doubled.
Can you explain this in more detail?
@@beanpotatoreviews184 The beam is the same size as the joists. The beam is supporting all of the joists and rafters.
The beam that slotted into the cement foundation blocks?
Newbie to your channel and I couldn't be happier to find someone who does great quality work👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💐❣️
Thanks so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the film
Not sure how I stumbled across this video but I grateful that I did. This is awesome!!
Very nice. The only thing you missed were about 50 curse words with the ceiling fan, taking it up and down 10 times cause it's put together wrong lol
It's all part of the learning curve .
Wow! They both look so nice. You make it look easy, but you also kept it simple.
OMG you both make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing … I love it! ❤
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the film🤙
The savings on this shed was $2,737.69! Very good!
🙌
Love the video. One thing I would have done is put screen on the side vents to help keep lil critter bugs out and Put your 1st row of shingle on upside down then place them right side up fully covering the upside down course.
Hi. You don’t have to explain yourself to viewers. It’s your house, yard, fence, and shed that are you are building. WHO cares what others think.
Thanks for sharing this. It gives me hope to build one, one day.
So I'm saving up to get the tools and wood and such I need to either build my own camper or pay u to build me one as I'm in my tent in the woods officially and cooking over a fire...word I love this outa the shelter finally!
WOW! Everything looks great! You scared me working on that electrical! I was like please flip a breaker first or something! Lol. Guess I don't know as much about it as I thought I did. 😊
Nope!! You are spot on about cutting electric off before working with it...
Nice vid, also ty for not making it like 1h l9ng woth nonsense like most on yt. Cheers
Hello Freinds 👋🏽 😊... I'm new to the DIY game, well, actually still in the research phase. Hope this isn't a silly question, but I was wondering, IS it possible to use these cement blocks to build a Renter friendly raised deck? Versus reg. Pavers.
Im currently living on a rented piece of property. The landlord doesn't want their property filled in with massive holes filled with concrete.
Thanks, anyone.
Tips /tricks always appreciated 👍🏾 always Subbed
Yes, it is very possible although I recommend not investing money into a property that you don’t own.
Building a deck can cost a decent penny.
I hope this helped thank you for watching and God bless ❤️
if it's a rental and the deck would have to be temporary maybe consider just doing a good ol redneck pallet deck. I can say that cuz I'm a redneck. Lol
That shed looks really nice! I want to build one but all of the plans and or pre built options are expensive (as you found out).
Great video. Kind of all over the place at the end, but the results speak for themselves! It all looks real good!
You've given me confidence that a shed may be a reality sooner than anticipated!
Fantastic stuff as always. Everything looks amazing.
Thanks homie 🤙
the foundation is just concrete block on soil? it is not going to sag?
To be able to create something like this with your own hands has got to be so empowering
You are incredible!!
Thanks you ❤️
Oh my goodness he looks beautiful good for you guys you look beautiful 🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️
Wonder what your rules about how close you can build to property lines....here it's 5ft on sides and 15ft front and back......your building would be a big fine here
I came across your content and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I have to say your videos are very well made and so are your builds. this truly gives me inspiration to do more DIY projects. Thank you.
Another great video build guys!
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the film 🤙
Thank you. Thank you showing me it 🤔 maybe labor intensive but its possible to diy (a little) help. I love the fact that can save money without falling into debt for thousands. Because I don't have nor want it. Thanks again
You and your wife did that! 🩵🩵
Wow!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I wish we could clone you and one of you could help me,🤓! Thank you for sharing this video!
Looks great, but shouldn't you let others know to turn the power off before doing the fan install?
I really like the gym that yall built.
Nice man, ima be on the streets soon so I'm looking for a charger pack...and a bike trailer as you know...
How did you finish the electrical. Are you running power from the house?
Looks real nice🤘👍
Thanks ❤️
You should leave a bottle of water inside for when the string on the latch breaks.
Great build guys! If it’s anything like our micro camper from y’all I’m sure it will last forever!
Im glad it’s working out for you guys ❤️
AMAZING!!
Thanks let me know how you enjoyed the film🤙
You have done an awesome job. Kuddos.
Always twist wires together before putting or wire nuts.
Awesome job! Great step by step, quality, and affordable work! New subscriber will be coming back often. Have a good one. 👍🏻
Thanks for the sub more videos coming soon ❤️
Those concrete footers blocks are garbage. I tried to use them for a deck I built for a client. You can kick the corners off. Some broke off in transportation. Extremely weak. I returned them instantly. You can dig footers put in 8" tube and fill with quick set and still have your foundation done in a day, and it will be infinitely stronger.
Wow great video i truly wish I had this kinda talent….a project like this would take me a year to build, this is coming from someone who can barely change the air filters in his house….😅😅…
Always double the top plate. 💪
Did you build the shed that you added onto if so do you have a video or blueprint for it
OSB swells when it gets wet (like humidity). I’m thinking you should’ve put a plastic vapor barrier underneath along with some polyethylene styrofoam insulation + Zip-Systems tape or a sealer on the cut ends.
I mean why use pressure-treated & then put unprotected OSB RIGHT ON-top of it all & not think you need the water-proofing & resistance on the floor?.
👍💯 All in all he did a respectable job I thought. though I'd only add 2 things to your on point observation.
#1 it's *oriented* strand board ,as in, its only structurally sound when like you said when it stays dry.. and when the directionally oriented strands are installed oriented in the proper direction. Which is always length wise across the studs, joists or rafters. Rather than running sheets length wise ('8ft) up the rafters. Which he probably did here to get less waste or fewer cuts. But i guarantee that 22" & 3/8 inches between the rafters will sag over not so long of a time if its unsupported for more than '4. ...
And #2 ditch the x type pier pads for ones with saddles and run a couple of pressure treated 4x6s under the moisture barriered floor joists so the T-111 can run all the way down 5" or 5" &1/2 inches past the floor seam, onto the rim joists to avoid moisture seeping into the edges of the exposed floor. Cheers! 🍻 💪🔨📐🪚 🇺🇲
Здравствуй друг и привет тебе с берегов реки Урал ! Смотрим !!!
Really nice video, but I'm curious: where does the rain water from your shed drops off?
The water drops to the back the roof is high in the front low in the back it called a ( lean to roof )
@@delords3337 yeah, that I saw. But does it fell on his property or his neighbor?
@@86neanicuit's rain, when it's raining what difference does it make?
Amazing! Congratulations from Brasil
Can I ask where you bought the lumber? I only ask because Im currently building a 10x10 shed and total cost for the lumber was only $520. Including the roof, siding and a prehug exterior door I'll be all in at $1600. ~$2000 or so total if I decide to add laminate flooring. So this one seems kinda high in price. I'm in California.
Nah u need a shirt/merch that says "And just like that!" 😄
Thats a freaking great idea. I’ll get some made ❤️
@@buildersblueprint yeah I knew it was bad when I would finish the sentence for you LOL
@@KRAZYQT 😂😂
You all did an amazing job. I would hire you to build one for me if you lived close.
Wow great job y'all 🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤God Bless your lives❤
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the film. God bless 🤙
Good work❤❤
Very impressive
Because of you I made your bike camper
Love the set up man. 👏
Wow, brilliant work. 😀👍
This is so cool! Great job 🎉
Sure enjoying your videos
Thank you so much 🤙
Pc of wire works better then string sr
Bro make me want to build my studio similar to this! I know I would struggle though 😩😩
Ahh this is awesome
You leave your bikes outside without a lock? Must not live in an urban city I could never do that haha
I live in a great Nabor hood and it’s in my fenced in back yard with cameras lol
@@buildersblueprint fasho lol
Just a great job really nice
Great build! It was entertaining and very informative!
We all know hes gonna rent out the main shed and that's gonna be a composting outhouse. These vids are his alibi in case the city starts wondering. 😂
Love the team work
Thanks homie 😊
Incredible job sir! Wow!!!🔥🤯🙌🏾
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the film 🤙
Bro I really like it . What are the dimensions? How come you didnt put a small window next to the door?
Those deck blocks are so cool,
Awesome
Thanks 😊
Nice
Good stuff! Well done.
Awesome job
Walls like that type of wood, what would happen if they get wet?
Nice vid man, great meeting you today
Hopefully you sealed all pressure treated lumber you cut.
Very, very impressed!
Thanks so much ❤️
Did you added bug screen to the shed's vents? I would have done that immediately after installing the vent.
They had big screens built in to them
@@buildersblueprint I couldn't tell from the video. Awesome sauce then!
Nice work. Looks great
You do really nice work.👍👍
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed the film
Nice work, but too close to fence for future fence and shed maintenance needs.
Nice❤❤❤
As long as you don't have any part of your shed hanging over the fence or any water run off going over the fence onto your neighbor's property, ffine. You still could've moved it up another foot. This is why towns require permits for sheds regardless of how it gets built. Not cool to say you don't care about your neighbors because your backyard is small. That's your problem, not theirs.
I didn't notice his shed compromising the property next door.
so awesome!
Awesome!
Make sure that string doesn’t snap.
If it does I’ll be like the cool aid man coming through the wall 😂
If only my yard wasn’t a ridiculous incline. Nice job tho!
wc???
If he worked for the money he would have paid, he would have to earn more and pay his marginal taxes higher rate and then pay for the shed.
He has the skills, use his economic strength.
I’m here for the wife lol
I'm glad ppl do these things, but it sucks when they pull out 2 grand worth of tools like it's nothing.
Maybe it's tools he uses for his living... like a contractor or for construction.
Bad Ass !!! Any Code enforcement issues?
Thanks. No issues at all thankfully 😅. New video coming in the next week or so.
Putting a light behind a fan is kind of strange. The inside will have a constant flicker of light. It’s probably minor.
You’re completely correct, but it’s very very minor
If you take your shirt off one more time, I’ll watch another one of your videos 😅
Did I miss something about why that ceiling fan was special?
It is one of the first smart ceiling fans that you can control from an app.
That string is still sketchy...I'd replace it with a real door knob.
