I just cut the dried chillies and get rid of the seeds by knocking them out instead of cutting them one by one.

Seriously, this is awesome! Congrats Aki! Boiling the chilli would help to tone down the spiciness. Cut it in 1/2, boil & use a coriander to help separate the seeds. Try using "gula melaka" next time inside the sambal. You did a good job overall. Keep going Aki!
Yeahhhh nasi lemak from aki desu...using hand to eat..terbaik aki-sann
We only separate the chilli seeds using colander. Just cut each chilli horizontally (slightly curve so that the seeds will easily come out). It doesn’t even take half an hour xD
and the colander not for rice

Edit: You can finish with the dry chili as fast as 10 minutes by medium cutting the chili using scissor and boil the chili right away for about 15 minutes/until the chili soft. Then, use basket filter (bekas jarang/penapis) to filter the seed. Use water flow to remove the seed while they are in the filter..
The fact that he went through all the struggle to make this....wow, you earn my most respect man...good job and well done 👍🏻 👏🏻
wow..Aki prepared Nasi lemak with quality ingredients..even removing the seeds from those dry chillies..next round can also remove the head and dirt from the ikan bilis and use freshly squeezed santan..

I am impressed that you took time to make EVERYTHING from scratch. I would just get the tamarind paste (yes, there is a paste version) at the supermarket. For me, nasi lemak is one of the easiest meal to make, coz everything is just doing it together at the same time (the rice, the egg, the sambal). I prefer squid sambal rather than fried chicken, so that is less preparation time, I guess.

I put this on the highest resolution and watch it full screen. Such a beautiful camera works! I cook Malaysian food frequently, so when watch this I literally scream where's the garlic when you blend it the first time hehe. You'll be able to make the sambal faster once you used to cook Malay food. I can make sambal less than one hour now. Cannot wait to see you cook other Malaysian cuisines.

I'm so proud of you Aki. I just started cooking again and realize Malay dishes are not easy to make. Took me 2 hours + last night just to cook nasi goreng mushroom with ready made paste😅. yeah, preparation really takes time. The fact that you need to have few meals in between making the nasi lemak is interesting😆
