- If you have ever had a total #fail doing something, you know that second chances don't always come around. #trout #fishing at Dexter Reservoir was something I failed at last month and I gave myself a chance of redemption!
Join me on a mid morning trip in my small but respectable motor boat as I try to find some dignity and get a few fish to play extras in this movie!

I've driven all around that lake for my job. I'm going to have to start taking my trout pole with me and fish on lunch.
It’s a nice place and really wasn’t very crowded from what I saw.

I'd definitely get a fish finder. I have the Garmin Striker 4 on my little lake boat and for the price it's awesome. Small and doesn't get in the way and does what it's supposed to.
That would be the smart thing to do. 🙄
Panther Martin's are my favorite spinner for trout. I use the 3/8ths size for small stream summer -run steelhead. Gold blade, black body with yellow spots. Money! 1,000 subs in 6 months is amazing! Great job, Brian! That first trout may have had a spinal injury or maybe tumors? Good one to let go.
I guess you never know. Just keep fishing is my golden rule!!
Fishing trout (Pin trout) in the upper columbia is a blast too. They get upto 30 lbs. Easy to catch they love the power bait.

@AutomagicAdventures went up last fall, caught them near cheif Joseph dam and Grand coolee dam. It was a blast.

Are you talking about that little section of road that goes over the lake? I was thinking about taking the boat underneath that bridge and exploring, but I didn’t want to get too far off the beaten path.

Start with, get a fish finder. Then, get a portable down rigger. Then get your bait down to where the fish are. Next, start catching more fish. Bam! I also debarb all my trebles to help releasing fish easier.

Do you have counters on all your rods?
No I normally don’t like to troll if I can cast places. Most reels that I have with line counting are not high end reels. I understand why it can matter so you can be coordinated with the other boat rods.
