This bit of history might interest you both. Allied Artist, the movie company that produced Elvis movie Tickle Me was heading for bankruptcy. However, the money they made from Tickle Me was enough to fund some further movies and they managed to stay in business for a further 8 years. In order to increase profits Elvis’ manager agreed to use songs that Elvis had previously recorded but not yet released. Just this one aspect definitely reduced the cost of making the movie.
