It is now 2024 from what I understand you still can not ship it even within the State of MI, is that accurate? What about Freeze Dried Foods? As far as I know the sales is still stuck at $25k I hate my address has to be on my product! They need to change that!
This is perfect! I was just getting to start a small home roastery for coffee beans. Wanted to make sure I was following all the rules. I'll definitely form an LLC start selling at my town's next fair
I am looking to sell a few jelly jars from my porch in an area where a little roadside stands are common because we live in the country. Should I worry about someone suing me as in should I get an LLC even though it is such a small operation?
I was thinking of doing a kettle corn and flavored popcorn business. that would also sell Lomonaid, tea, soda, hot dogs, corn dogs, and maybe fried veggies or french fries. i was thinking of selling at farmers markets and flea markets. is there any issue with my idea?
when you get into the hot dogs , fried foods this would be a mobile vending permit situation your city or county would need t issue a permit for mobile food vendors. this are time and temp sensitive food products

Yes, you can sell spices from home in Michigan under the state's Cottage Food Law. Michigan’s Cottage Food Law allows individuals to produce and sell certain types of food from their home kitchens without needing a license or inspection. Spices, being non-perishable food items, fall within the types of foods that are allowed under this law. Here are some key points to consider: Labeling Requirements: Your spice products must be properly labeled with the name and address of the producer, the name of the product, the ingredients in descending order by weight, the net weight or volume, allergen information, and a statement indicating that the product was made in a home kitchen not subject to inspection. Sales Venues: Cottage food products can be sold directly to consumers at places like farmers' markets, roadside stands, and directly from your home. Online sales and wholesale distribution are not allowed. Annual Sales Limit: There is a cap on the annual gross sales of cottage food products. As of the latest update, the limit is $25,000 per year. Compliance: Ensure you comply with all local regulations and zoning laws that might affect home-based businesses. If you plan to sell spices, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with all aspects of Michigan's Cottage Food Law to ensure compliance and successful operation of your home-based business.
