  • Dammaged pivot springs can prevent your saw's cutting head from staying upright and, as a result, cause a potential saftey hazard. Mark will show you how to replace the pivot spring and get your miter saw up and running again.
Helpful items include a hammer, punch, flashlight, and screwdriver.

This is very good presentation. Is it a legal requirement to keep the tension on the pivot spring (OSHA Requirement)?

Hi Roman, if we had a Ridgid Miter Saw in stock, we probably would have already done the video on it it. But we do not stock Ridgid tools. Some times we get some used ones in. I'll mention it to the video people, to let them know.

Hi Samuel. Thanks for the suggestion, we will certainly look in to publishing a video about mitre saw adjustment. In the meantime, the best way to ensure that your blade is centered is to use a square to test the fence and make sure it is aligned correctly. Then, you can use a square to determine if mitre and bevel angles are centered as well. You can adjust these settings as necessary, and hopefully your saw is back to working condition! I hope this helps, and good luck with your repair!

Loosening and adjusting the bevel should help you with this problem. If that still doesn't help, let me know and I'll continue to troubleshoot with you.

This video fails to tell you to remove the guard (2 screws). It's annoying and in the way. Also that to make it real easy remove the motor by loosening the belt tensioner and the 6 screws that hold and secure the motor in place. Clean the pivot shaft (wd-40), then you can almost do the install partially by hand.
