    And after reading the almost 300 page owners manual, you too can be ready to tackle the Bell Ranger Helicopter user’s manual! Lol I figured this instruction via the pictorial plastic tab, so can I make some money over at Traxxion Dynamics? Just had to ask

      You can't do that. Once it is registered to the Control Unit, that is the only Control Unit it will ever work with.

    If I want more HP and Torque out of my 2018 Wing, what is best way to go about it? I would think a Flat six could put out easy 160HP or more.

    • @Traxxion

      I've never seen anyone ever succeed in getting any significant horsepower increases out of a Goldwing. Since there isn't any demand for it, no one bothers to mess with it in the aftermarket.

      @@Traxxion Makes sense. Never hurts to ask. In the demo I was super happy with it so I finally bring my standard 2018 home this Friday! My other question I have is can I run it in sport mode all the time or will it "hurt it"? I'm coming from a BMW K1600GT and just could never get comfortable on that bike and the Wing is the best out there so that's why I decided to upgrade. Sport was awesome in the demo, just wanted to make sure I can keep it in sport when I do the back roads and perhaps just put it in Tour or Eco while cruising to get to the back roads.

      @@Traxxion That was until the 2018+ Goldwings. You see Honda set out for a whole new younger generation with the 18+ wings so Goldwings aren't just for old farts anymore. I too would like more power from the wing. The BMW K1600B has around 165HP and is only a 1600cc six cylinder bike with more fuel and a lighter bike and is also a cheaper. Only reason I like the wing is for probably the same reason as everyone else..... the DCT.

    Doesn't that tag also have the emergency entry code printed on it? That nice paint job really needed gold metallic flake. ;-)

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They spare metal key they give you has a tiny dog tag on it with a stamped number that I believe is the Emergency Code. Maybe someone can confirm that? The plastic tag is only related to the fob, nothing to do with a specific bike.

    • @wotblake
      @wotblake 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Traxxion The paper tag has the emergency code printed on it for that fob. When you register that fob to the bike that code can now be used to start the bike. I hope the tag you showed in this public video is not registered to this green Goldwing. If so, anyone who saw this video could easily start the bike. They would need to also probably break the lock above the license plate but that would take a few seconds. The code attached to the metal key itself is only to get a new key cut for the emergency key hole above the license plate. At this point I would probably not use/sell that key fob to a customer. If this keyfob (and the tag/code) is registered to this bike you should pull down this video as soon as possible. I do not think you can de-register a keyfob and I believe there is a max of 5 registered per bike.

    • @Traxxion

      That's good info thanks. If you think anyone who watched this video is going to steal this bike, you need be careful you don't get bit by a shark while being struck by lightning at the same time. The odds of what you describe happening are exactly the same! :)

    • @wotblake
      @wotblake 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Max McAllister & Traxxion Dynamics You’re okay with knowingly posting a customers pin code to start their motorcycle on TH-cam? This is no different than giving out a physical key to someone you do not know. If I was your customer I would be livid. I have always been a big fan of your content but this is a pretty shocking attitude from a business owner.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wotblake so let's review your "concern".
      You think there is a Honda Goldwing theft ring or some Super Evil Dude that is sitting at a computer scouring the MILLIONS of posts about Goldwings on TH-cam just waiting for the ONE time someone has a tiny set of numbers showing on a little plastic tag, that can only be seen through stop action analysis.
      Then, armed with this Golden Ticket to steal a Wing, Super Evil Dude is going set off around the PLANET EARTH randomly loading those numbers into every Goldwing they come across, risking of course arrest and imprisonment... RIGHT?
      Or he's just going to drive through every state and down every street in every town and hope the owner has it sitting i front of his house unattended?
      How much money is Super Evil Thief guy going to invest travelling EARTH to find this one particular motorcycle so he can "punch in the code"? $5,000? 10,000? $100,000?
      Let's just pretend for lunacy's sake that the Super Evil Thief dude randomly came across the exact motorcycle in this video somewhere on Earth. Then he is so excited, he finally gets to "steal" a goldwing! YEAH BABY!!!
      So he enters the code and the bike starts up. Then what? You think he's going to put it up on eBAY???? CUSTOM GREEN GOLDWING, LOW MILES!!!
      Or better yet, maybe he'll drive it to Wing Ding and show it off to everyone. Probably even enter it in the Bike Show!
      Get a grip. Your suggestion is completely, totally, absolutely ridiculous.
      If you are that scared of people on this planet, how do you even go outside of your house? Do you just sit on the porch with a shotgun?
      If someone wants to steal a Goldwing they aren't doing it with a key fob code. They will just drag it onto a flatbed with a cable and drive away.
      In the end, if all of these completely totally idiotic circumstances happened and someone magically enters a code and steals your Goldwing, that's what insurance is for. Or do you not insure your motorcycle since you know your Secret Code is safely locked away?

    Hi Max, greetz from Germany,
    As a big fan of your videos, let me ask you one question please:
    Regarding the key FOB I have a problem never heard so far.
    As I bought my 1 year old DCT Tour from my Honda dealer in February, he gave me 2 keys.
    One was working, the other one not. So we changed the battery, but it didn't work.
    Maybe the key was exchanged with another customer...
    So he tried to enter the Code on that plastik stripe to my DCT.
    The key works fine, but the code is wrong. 5 beeps after entering the last digit of the code.
    So he contacted Honda Japan and asked them about the right code belonging to the VIN.
    Honda Japan confirmed that the code belongs to the vehicle identification number.
    But after several tries - it does NOT work at all. 5 Beeps..
    Can I programm a second new key so that I have one for safety ?
    Best regards André and stay healthy.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Andre! I am certain you can program a 2nd key to your bike, we have done that several times for customers. There is a procedure in the Honda Manual, and you need a little jumper wire, which you can buy or make. I am not sure why you have a second one that doesn't work. I suppose you could ask the dealer that sold you the bike to get another key for you and replace the defective one they gave you. That would be fair. Good luck!

      @@Traxxion Hi Max, thx for your quick answer.
      That´s what we do actualy. He will send a spare key tomorrow.
      But what I find most strange is the fact that Honda Japan has clearly confirmed the code for my VIN.
      And it still doesn't work.
      I have agreed with the dealer that my DCT will come to him.
      He will then go online with Honda Germany to see what needs to be done.
      In the worst case, the control unit and all parts attached to the smart lock must be replaced.
      This could be very expensive.
      But not for me.
      The bike still has a factory warranty and wrong keys or codes are not the responsibility of the buyer.
      I hope everything works.
      Thank you again and stay healthy.
      André

      @@andres.6763 If you bought the bike used, the dealer must be honorable to help. In America, we would not get that type of help. Of course, this is only a problem if you ever lose the main key. I think the system is overly complicated, and should never require replacement of an expensive computer to program a key. This is a Honda Fail. They system should be simpler. If someone wants to steal the bike that bad, then no key will stop them.
